Our jersey:
Spoiler Credits for Atlantius
Our riders:
Simon Spilak
Simon Spilak is obviously our leader. He is one of the best climbers of this edition. He is not the best, but the better climbers are worse in the TT. With more than 100 kilometers, that might work in his advantage
Fabio Aru
Fabio Aru is one of the many great Italian climbing talents. With this talent and a decent time trial, he could very well be a good contestant for the white. His primary job will be helping Spilak however.
David Blanco
David Blanco is the climber with experience. Being 38 years old he is a very good helper. He can also do well in the time trials, but obviously he will only help Spilak
Kenny Elissonde
Kenny Elissonde will, together with Aru, be our rider for the white. He may be a worse climber, but in the time trial he will make up a lot of time, but again, he will be having to help Spilak.
Ignatas Konovalovas
Ignatas is a pure worker for this team. He will mostly support our team in the flat stages, the hilly stages and in the beginning of mountain stages. If not, we will probably see him back in some breakaways
Klaas Lodewyck
Klaas is another good rider for this edition. If possible, he may go for himself in some mass sprints, but he is more likely to help Vaitkus on his quest for the green.
Thomas Peterson
Thomas Peterson is just like David a pure worker for this edition. He has quite a lot experience on the highest level, for this stage is massive. He has aimed on helping Spilak and going for the polkadots
Tomas Vaitkus
Tomas Vaitkus is on a quest for green this year. He may not be the best pure sprinter, but he is able to survive some hills and do some time trials. That should give him an edge over the other sprinters. His support is not very big however, with only Lodewyck as lead-out.
Oliver Zaugg
Oliver is last but surely not least of this team. He is a great climber, as he proved in Il Lombardia 2011, which he surprisingly won. He goes for the polkadots and for Spilak winning yellow.
Our goals:
For the GC: Top 3
For the points: Win
White: Top 3
Team: Top 5
Stages: 3 podiums

Aer Lingus
Welcome to the website of Aer Lingus, the new Irish-based cycling team. We are invited to ride this year's Tour De France! Here's our team roster:
Kanstantsin Siutsou
Matthew Brammeier
Philip Deignan
Rob Ruijgh
Grega Bole
Gediminas Bagdonas
Daniel Schorn
Steve Morabito
Sam Bennett
Our goals, well we are looking for at least a stage win. Or two, yeah let's make it two. One in a sprint and one in a breakaway. Furthermore a podium with Siutsou would be nice.

- Bridgestone -
- Yukiya Arashiro -
Yukiya Arashiro is one of our two Japanese riders. He will attack a lot, so we'll see him in the breakaway. He will also help our leader Gorka Verdugo.
- Fumiyuki Beppu -
Fumiyuki Beppu is our other Japanese rider. He'll do the same things as his compatriot: attack and helping Gorka Verdugo.
- Michal Golas -
Michal Golas has several qualities. He can climb and sprint, so he'll also attack and try to win a stage. And of course he can help Gorka Verdugo in the mountains.
- Kristjan Koren -
Kristjan Koren can climb and has also good time-trial stats. We hope he can help Verdugo, but he'll also get his chance in the breakaway.
- Aleksejs Saramotins -
Aleksejs Saramotins is the national champion of Latvia. He's also a good time-trialer. He also get the chance to attack, but he will also help Verdugo.
- Ioannis Tamouridis -
Ioannis Tamaroudis is also a rider who can almost everything: sprinting, climbing and riding time-trials. So he will do the same things as our other riders: attack and helping Verdugo.
- Bobbie Traksel -
Bobbie Traksel is our Dutch sprinter. He'll try to take some good results in the sprints. If he isn't anymore in the first group, we still have Golas and Tamouridis who both can sprint very well. Fortunate Traksel can ride very decent over hills.
- Gorka Verdugo -
Our main leader. Maybe he's not good enough at the climbs, but he has a better time-trial than some concurrents. And if his classification is bad, he'll go for a stagewin.
- Kristof van de Walle -
Kristof van de Walle is our last rider. We expect some good results of him in the time-trials, and otherwise he's a good helper.
Goals
- Top 5 in final classification
- At least 2 stage wins
- Top 10 in time-trials

Iran Khodro
selection
Taylor Phinney: He's leader of our team. He's is directly the youngest cyclist of our team. His best result until now is a stage victory in the Giro d'Italia of 2012. He's the time trialer of this team.
Hossein Nateghi: He's one of the two Iranian cyclist. He's a sprinter, but we've better sprinters in our team, so he's going to assist other sprinters.
Ghadar Mizbani: He's the other Iranian cyclist. He's besides with his 37 the oldest cyclist of our team. He is a attacker who also good can climb.
Jesus del Nero: He can almost everything. It's a sprinter, who can climb and riding time trials. He's going to help everyone who can win a stage.
Davy Commeyne: He's not a classic sprinter, but he can it good. He can survive hills and than fight for victory.
Paul Voss: He's the same type of cyclist as del Nero. He can a lot of diffence things, only he can't climb very well.
René Mandri: He's one of our best sprinters and he can more than only sprint. He's also a good climber and he can survive hills.
Jonas Aaen Jorgenson: He's a classic sprinter. He can survive hills, but we have cyclist in our team who can it better.
Francesco Reda: He's the cyclist of our team for the mountains. He's the only one who a classic climber is and for a climber he can good sprint.
When you look to our team you can see that we've a lot of sprinters, so we're a sprint team, bit we can also climb and ride time trials. So we've hope to ride a good race.
Goals
Win at least 1 stage
Wear one of the jerseys
Top 10 in classficaton

The Tour is underway. So many questions to be answered, Who will win the GC?, Who will win the sprints?, Who will be the first to buckle? Who will win the ULTRA CLASSIFICATION? All will be answered in under 3,500 kilometres.
Rogelin (BDB) has the honour of being first man out on course, naturally he sets the early fastest time but it is a modest one of 8:59 over the 6.3 kilometre course. Surely this time will be beaten.
Some stage favourites were up in the very first round. Home favourite and Belgian champion VandeWalle (BSE) looked to be giving it 100% around the course. But he disappointed not even possessing the fastest time at the end of the first round of riders that honour went to fellow countryman Vermote (HEY).
After first 22 riders: 1)J.Vermote 8:22 2)K.Vandewalle @ 0" 3)S.Schumacher @ 6"
Riders 23-44 saw some big names come up who could really challenge for the stage win (Rosseler, Phinney and Tuft) Rosseler (SCD) was the first man up but failed to beat Vermote's time just losing out by one second finishing at 8:23.
Next up was Phinney (IKO) and boy was he eating up the road. He sets the fastest time @ 8"12, it has to be a huge effort in Liege for someone to beat this time set by the TT specialist.
But shortly after Phinney arrives.....what's this its Canadian champion Svein Tuft (QMS) and he sets a time of 8'1.......................... TO BE CONTINUED
7.. 8'17 is the time set by Tuft losing just five seconds to Phinney.
After 44 riders: 1)T.Phinney 8:12 2)S.Tuft @ 7" 3) J.Vermote @ 9"
With the pre stage favourite Thomas still to come up with many different riders willing to give it 100% the stage is far from over.
R J van Rensburg (KLU) shown here riding along the river Meuse would go on to set a top15 time of 8'24, showing the South African's mean business
M.Kwiatkowski (SCD) was a rider tipped potentially for a top5...but he disappointed, not even finishing in the top 20.
They are efficient at the tour, Grivko (AFL) is barely off the ramp before Chavez (PVE) gets into his starting position. Grivko managed to set a decent time of 8'19 which was top 3 for a while.....
The race was meandering along until there was 35 riders to go, good times by the like of Castroviejo (QMS) Bagdonas (ALS) Bobridge (SCD) were being set but the time of Phinney never looked troubled . Then came Aussie champ Durbridge (PDA). Durbridge finished with a three second gap to Phinney but was it 3 seconds + or 3 seconds - .
Unfortunately for Perodua it was +.
After 176 riders. 1)T.Phinney 8'12 2)L.Durbridge @ 3" 3)S.Tuft @5".
Stage favourite Thomas (PDA) watches as Lofkvist (KLO) rides off. Lofkvist, a possible GC outsider, put in one of the best times by a GC man finishing in the top 10, but what could Thomas do. Thomas gave everything around the technical course, he looked to be on for victory
Alas, Thomas couldn't pull it off finishing at 8'15 even behind his teammate Durbridge.
With Thomas out of the stage picture the stage surely looked to be won for Phinney and Iron Khodro. USA champion Zabriskie (BZQ) gave it a good shot finishing in 7th. However, Siutsou and Spillak were still to come in. Siutsou (ALS) managed a good time finishing top20, but GC favourite Spillak (NEL) flattered to deceive finishing outside the top 30, is this a sign he is not in top form.
That was it, the stage was won for Phinney. Iran Khodro will have the honour of being the first team to ride on the front protecting the yellow jersey. Perodua have the bittersweet consolation of finishing 2nd and 3rd while Quilmes takes the team honours.

5 seconds is nothing. Spilak is way better in the long TTs, so he could still win this

So close to getting a perfect set of predictions! Got 1-2-3 right (well 2/3 swapped but they had same time) and my last place pick finished 2nd to last...
Need to see the team results, but I should be about right on those also.
Brutal to finish 4th and 5th on the stage, just ever so slightly missing out the podium. Happy to lead the team classification though!

Kent's Stage 2 Predictions
1: Taylor Phinney
2: Maxime Vantomme
3: Ariel Maximiliano Richeze
Could be a very tough guess though, the hills could cause problems, Phinney shouldn't have an issue with them which is why I give him the win, Vantomme is better with the hills than other top sprinters, giving him second and Richeze has great team support, but Danilo Napolitano is in about the same situation.
Breakaway/Punchers could screw this all up, but I don't think they will, Redbull and Quilmes are incredibly strong at pulling back breakaways and Iran Khodro will also be very much against a breakaway.

I think Di Luca wins with a difference of 10 minutes, without suspicion.
Nah, to be realistic, I think Geraint Thomas wins, ahead of Caruso and Arashiro.
