Hoping for some colombian show and Machado to do something. Also, my bet on the win is Hesjedal. |

I don't see Moreno finishing on podium, but so i do neither see Gesink in the Top3.
I can't see Gesink finishing Top 3 normally either, but I can see him getting Top 5, which I can't see with Moreno, but that's my opinion

Very nice preview - fickman.
I see Nibali as the main contender. I'm very curious how Team Sky and Wiggins will be. Sky train like in the Tour? Will Wiggo be just as well, not really the Wiggins as in 2012, it seems. What will he do without Froome? |

Nibali, Brajkovic against Wiggins and Uran. Shape of Janez will be absolutely crucial. If he can stay with Nibali than he has great chance of wining it all.. |

Gesink will fall over, as usual in GT's
Sky Train vs. Nibali is the battle for the GC... don't see anyone with the quality of to challenge Wiggins and Nibali.
Couldn't predict a winner, but of course i want Wiggo to win

You are free to ask Purito how underestimating Hesjedal worked out for him.

Santambrogio for me should be starting to lose form any day now. He has been awesome ever since Tirreno, which normally means that you should be fairly tired by now.
Just like Nibali.
Fair point
In terms of winner, I'm hoping for anyone else than Wiggins. I find it hard to see anyone beating him, though.

Zubeldia 4 times top 8, 6 times top 10 and 8 times top 15 of a GT. No one of you would consider him as GT winner, as some do it with Gesink. Just to get me right Gesink is not just not "that bad", he is a top class rider, but i think he won't win a GT. |

My bet for the GC win is Nibali, but Wiggo will prove himself a hard man to beat. |

Well, the never-ending discussion. If he doesn't crash that much, and he's on top-form, then I can see him as a GC contender. Not a favourite, definitely not, but a contender. His 5th place in the Tour of 2009 proves that it's possible. It's not possible that he got that much worse, technically, he should be better than he was in 2009(only if you look at his age, I mean)
But the problem is, he does crash that much. And no, Vuelta 2012 wasn't top-form for him. Tour de France 2012 should have been though, but, guess? He crashed
Although he disappointed at the mountain stage there. Or did he crash before that too? I don't remember, I think he crashed multiple times in Le Tour.

No way,Gesink was in top form in about 2009-2010 season. He will, like many of riders, stay just "awesome talent". He didn't make any awesome result in his career (many of you , in '08-'09 expected that he is going to win Tour or any GT in coming seasons). I can't and won't count him as even "2stars" rider. He can MAYBE get TOP5.

I know Nibbles won the Vuelta, but this s his moment. He has racked up some very impressive stage race wins this year. He has the ability to take on the Sky plans and I think against Wiggins in particular he feels he has his number.
If the Nibali and the favourites leave it to 19 and 20 to really attack Sky and Wiggins they will probably leaving it too late. Should lead to much more early hard racing.

He was involved in the massive crash on the stage to Metz, where half the peloton was held up. I'm not sure if he actually crashed or just got caught behind, however. I find the former most likely.
Still, even considering that, he was a big letdown on Planche des Belles Filles.

Gesink,Samy Sanchez and Henao will beat riders like Santambrogio,Pozzovivo or Betancur.Pozzo participation isn't sure. His fall in Trentino was really bad.May have consequences.Santambrogio will lose a lot in the ITT and also he ride too much this year. Was in form in every race.I think he will go for stages and KOM.Betancur can't beat riders like Henao,Gesink or Sanchez in long, difficullt mountain stages.
My top 10 is:
1-3.Wiggins/Nibali/Hesjedal - .In my opinion ther have equal chances.
4-5.Evans/Henao(even if he will be Wiggo domestique. He will be like Froome like last year) .-again the have equal chances
6-8.Gesink/Scarponi/Basso -here maybe Scarponi will do a little better.
9-10.between Rujano(if he will find 2011 legs)Betancur,Pozzovivo,Santambrogio,Cobo,Intxausti and Pellizotti.
Who will be be the biggest disappointing rider?
D.Moreno(if he will ride)-he will finish somewhere between 20-30 in GC and he will not wing a stage.
If Moreno will not ride I think Basso will be considered the biggest disappointing riders because he will not enter in top 5.Also Scarponi
Who will be be the biggest surprising rider?
Evans(atm nobody trust in him)/Henao(he will be the strongest climber in the race)
Who will win the Maglia azurra?
Duarte
Who will win the Maglia bianca?
Betancur
Who will win the Maglia rossa?
Nibali
PS. I hope you understand because my english is very bad.
