3 way share of the KOM jersey - if Nebojsa had tried just a tiny bit harder then we could have had 3 times as many points Same applies to everyone else though |

Well, you are right, because he is indeed one of my the most favourite Czech riders. But mainly he is a great fighter and solid puncheur, and so that's the main reason why he is one of my riders.

Too bad that Rabon lost his leader jersey.. If he wouldn't sprint for bonus seconds, maybe he could keep it..

Another great report, Smowz. Thanks!
Nice to see Boasson Hagen go for it. Hopefully he'll ride aggressive on the coming stages as well.
A bit disappointing to see the rest of my team drop, especially Augustyn. I doubt they'll try the breakaway, due to the fact that Boasson Hagen is one of the pre-race favourites.
Hopefully the stages to come will really prove tough and separate the bunch, and we'll get some gaps. |

I think this is all I am going to get out of this race.
I can be happy with a stage win

Shame about the narrow roads. Not much to be done when the stage maker is unresponsive though - I know Smowz tried his best to find a better alternative.
Decent result for Schleck, thought he might win it from a Gesink leadout but sadly not.

A M A Z I N G performance by VDB
Now, with hopefully no significant selection between the riders surrounding him in GC on the next stage, and no gaps at all in the fifth, this might really turn into a huge surprise!
Keep in mind I initially didn't select VDB for this race until a last-minute decision

Enjoyed that stage, Smowz never does a bad report. Shame about the narrow roads, but still a good stage for the neutral |

I recall you raging last year about the Basque country mate. I feel your pain. I was heading into the final climb and I thought I will just check on the position of the leaders considering the final 4.5km are narrow.
I was surprised to see Rabon dropped, but I was stunned to see Ulissi just soft tapping behind the 100 rider front group. I am looking at the results and I see most of the Festina guys together well back - I may have missed something I don't know.
Sorry to Wikipedia there, Van Garderen was caught behind slower riders for sure (though as reported he was too far back really). Up front Gesink was in front all the way from about 2.5km out. Schlecks old legs simply didn't have it!

It happens Smowz. Normally this isn't the way I lose out on races, and the recent races has been tipping in my direction, so I can't complain. Atleast my riders doesn't crash out of top priority races so far. Fingers crossed that it will continue that way.

I don't think he'll be the only one wanting a deal for Ulissi
You sure he's leaving your team for definite ? He might have some great surprsing results yet, never loose hope.

Brilliant report, Smowz! Enjoyable from start to finish, and it had me at the edge of my seat
And that was good by Boasson Hagen. Must admit I feared much worse on such a mountain-ish stage.
Great to see him riding active, same goes for the whole team, really. Hopefully the team will go all in for Boasson Hagen on the next stage as well, as that's probably the best shot at a stage win.
Congratulations alexkr00! Brilliant ride by Gesink, just amazing. He's without any doubt the big, big, big favourite for the win now |

That was a entertaining finish, like a slow drag race up the hill. Trofimov has been fairly beaten up to this point, but still all to play for with only 14sec up to Gesink.
