Will wins still count, like say Cavendish won the 2nd stage of the Giro, would that still go down as a win in his palmares and points for him in the ProTour rankings?
of course. why shouldn't they? a team can ride with no sponsor
they still got a pro tour licence so... |

What's really bad is that during the last 10 years basically all major companies have pulled out of cycling. Alright, Rabobank is a big regional bank, not a global player though (maybe CA isn't that small).
I'm excited to see former T-Mobile with its new main sponsor "Hans Mayer Bakery Munich". I mean look at some of today's main sponsors in cycling - I really don't know what to say.

Well if they do continue racing, the plus side is that they dont have to wear pink anymore.

you're rigth... ok, toyato has a small team but... and 2 rabobank teams but thats pretty much it from big companies... discovery is stopping as well. not that they're big but they do send there programs around the world.
what remains is all companies that are mostly operating on natinal level, and so there goals will be in there own country... international cycling is going away further and furter.... just look at what races are on the PT calander next year, it says enough... |

It was rumoured yesterday that T-Mobile would stop their sponsorship. However, it was also said that Stapleton had several new sponsors to take-over, so I don't think the riders / management got any problems. But it's still a shame to see T-Mobile go -- they have been there for so long and is a part of the history. |

Stapleton has said that they will have money enough to ride without a (co-)sponsor for the next two years.
.. That's a good thing. |

Rabobank is indeed a very national bank, not exactly multinational, but they do want to perform in the biggest races. They care much more about winning GT's then classics or home races. Even their CT team is fixed on finding and growing as many GT talents as possible the last year.
It's the reason why the Netherlands doesn't seem to have any top sprinters anymore. Rabo doesn't care they want to win the Tour and nothing else. This is a problem if you ask me |

Especially when they throw out one candidate for victory, and let the second one focus on the Vuelta and having the third one being too young to be taken seriously.

Heh, well, Ruben said that it was a problem that they focused too much on the Tour. By throwing out MR, they are solving the problem |
