absolutely true, he did well in one race and now suddenly is a big talent....
I know someone gonna say now, he did well in this and this and that race as well and won this and that and that this year.... but still he's overhyped....

It's far too early to say he's overhyped. I mean he was a neo-pro in 2007 and he finished 6th in Deutschland Tour and 19th in Vuelta a Espana, which he wasn't planning in particular to take part in. For a neo-pro that's very good.

Plus he did actually manage to follow the pack for quite some time (until the penultimate lap?) in the Worlds

A_Schleck, how on earth did you get Voigt 3rd in the 2008 tour?
exactly what i was wondering
Oh yeah about that. It wasn't all me that got him on the podium but some, in this particular, very nice Cyanide logic (yes apparently that exists). Voigt was some 20 minutes behind the leader Contador, when I simmed a flat stage (I think it was the 18th, but it doesn't really matter). For some reason I found that Voigt had been in a breakaway and the pack let it go clear by 15 minutes or so, so Voigt moved from the top 20 to 3rd on a flat stage.
You guy's forget that he (Voigt) is one of the best timetravel riders in the world at the moment! Cancellara you are still my number one!
Tommeke, tommeke, tommeke, wat doe je nu?
Tom Boonen gaat wereldkampioen worden,
Tom Boonen gaat wereldkampioen worden,
Tom Boonen op 1,
Tom Boonen op 1,
Tom Boonen is wereldkampioen!!!
reckon you could do a translation? the best Babelfish could give me was:
Tommeke, tommeke, tommeke, what now do you? TOMs Boonen go up world champion become, TOMs Boonen go up world champion become, TOMs Boonen 1, TOMs Boonen 1, TOMs Boonen are world champion!!! 50 meters on head and it is enough! Formidabele Betini but these are what counted! Guards, guards, guards and then mercilessly remove because all other sprinters, who in fact nevertheless for a long time written down, the strap will be bitten off products!
reckon you could do a translation? the best Babelfish could give me was:
Tommeke, tommeke, tommeke, what are you doing? Tom Boonen is gonna be the world champion, Tom Boonen is gonna be the world champion, Tom Boonen on 1 , Tom Boonen on 1, Tom Boonen is world champion!!! 50 leading meters are enough. Bettini is great(formidable) but this is what counts! Waiting, waiting, waiting and then (this is a hard part to translate) attacking hard(best I can come up with) because all other sprinters, who in fact where dead allready, couldnt do a shit anymore.
is the best I can, but should be better then the other
edit: I see now this guys got it different in his signature then it is... I'll do the original as well maybe

Forget the first frensch part, they think it’s gilbert winning…..
When they start again this is what they say:
They are suprized now.
Valverde is still there.
Boonen directly behind Valverde.
I dont see Petacci.
Tom Boonen got to get out, he cant get himself surrounded.
Vinokourov in the center, Valverde gets himself up.
Tom Boonen gets out, Tom Boonen takes the lead.
Tom Boonen passed Valverde
Tommeke, tommeke, tommeke,
what are you doing?
Tom Boonen is gonna be the world champion,
Tom Boonen is gonna be the world champion,
Tom Boonen on 1?
Tom Boonen on 1?
Tom Boonen is world champion!!!
Unbelievable
Tom Boonen is world champion!!!
50 meters in the lead are enough.
Tom is world champion!!!
Mother, we’re not home yet!!!

Not a particularly good team - QUICKSTEP - INNERGETIC
Season: August 2009
If you wonder how I got Valverde:
In December 2007 (I think) He still didn't have a contract for 2008 which means he would have had a year off. If you wait till approximately 25th of December, you'll get most riders for half of their usual salary - got him for 50.000. He only asked for 40.000. I just added 10.000 to the offer to make sure he would come. I got Chris Sutton/Allan Davis and a few others the same way.
I've won a lot with that team, basically all the classics (I've won every ProTour one-day-race in 2009 with either Valverde/Boonen or Hagen).
Won all ProTour (and most other) cobbled classics with Boonen from 2007-2009 apart from Roubaix 2008, which he missed due to injury.
Vuelta 2008 with Valverde. Giro 2009 with Intxausti. Practically all Prologues from 2007-2009 of all ProTour events with either Kittel/Wiggins/Grabovskyy/Zabriskie/Rosseler. Won about 15-18 Tour stages between 2007-2009. Hagen and Boonen combined for 9 victories in this year's Tour.
Current WC is Valverde, ITT WC is Wiggins.
I've never won the Tour though - managed 2nd in 2009 with Valverde. Orozco is currently leading the 2009 edition of the Vuelta at stage 9.
It's not bad but the Tour is still missing in our palmares.
It's a great team, but imo a little too good, a little unrealistic. I play with Quickstep too but so many great riders is a little too much for me. It's not realistic imo...
Another question, could you post your team with the contracts, and the values of the riders? I'm curious how u managed to do it?

I did in fact change some numbers (I think I changed transfer budget). The actual team budget however, was left untouched - whcih is why you won't be able to keep all of these riders after their current contract expires. (That's the reason I let Visconti go...I couldn't afford 70000 and didn't want yet another team leader).
PS: I never said it was a realistic team - even though it could be argued that its main focus remain the spring classics. My remark concerning the quality of the team wasn't serious. It's indeed a VERY, VERY good team and I'd even agree with you that it's sometimes a little too dominant to be fully enjoyable.

Advice concerning career mode
(I figured many, even very experienced members of this site never finished a season):
Seriously, if a rider you would love to have on your team doesn't have a contract by mid/end October, it's worth waiting till December to tremendously reduce his salary demands. In different careers I've seen riders like Ciolek, Davis, Contador, Pereiro, JI Gutierrez, Bettini, F. Schleck, Zabriskie, Menchov not signing with a team until late december which would have left them jobless in the following year.
Be patient! You might not always get your first choice that way, but you'll surely get some great cyclists for a lot less than their actual value.
