Can i point out the absurdity of Conte and Simeone not being in top 10 coach of the year, while Ferguson, Guardiola and Löw who didn't win anything was nominated. Guardiola even in second place.
My TOTY would be something like this. Not so much based on trophys as quality:
Buffon
Lahm - Barzagli/Hummels/Kompany - Alba
Vidal - Iniesta
Ronaldo - Messi - RvP
Falcao/Cavani |

Here's mine:
Cech
Lahm - Chiellini - Kompany - Alba
Pirlo - Y Toure
Iniesta - Messi - Ronaldo
Falcao

It's from NUsport, and Dutch, but I guess you guys(and you of course loky) can figure it out...
Aanval is almost the Swedish word. It's pronounced the same anfall |

Swedish and Dutch is a bit similair anyway... I saw a Swedish(or was it Danish) series last week(subtitled of course), and there are quite a few words that we have (almost) in common...

Messi deserved it, no doubt, but I'm a bit tired of this constant praise of Messi and Barcelona.
Quoted for truth.
Btw, for the dutchies, Jack just described Frank Snoeks perfectly.

Ronaldo's expression throughout the ceremony was priceless. |

Cristiano deserved this more than Messi imo. He's been the engine of the team for the past year, when Real was superior in both La Liga and Copa del Rey. Messi scored 91 goals, so I don't mean to say he didn't deserve it, but Cristiano was the right pick for me. But well Messi has won Golden Balls with less merit than this one.
Anyway nevermind my chauvinistic rant. Here's the list of the votes for anyone interested: https://www.fifa.c...ountry.pdf

Does anyone still give this any credit?
I mean, when it was the Ballon d'Or it had something to do with performance, but ever since it was fused with the FIFA award, it became exactly like the FIFA award was before: It should be called "Footballer with best reputation of the year award"
The fact that the best player actually won this year is merely coincidental.

Yeah this 'democratic election' isn't really the best way to work this out. Give it back to FF, they knew what they were doing.

FF was still the same way of doing it, just that the people voting weren't these idiots. The people who voted were hand picked journalists who actually knew the subject.
Sportsmen tend to have the most warped idea of their own sport

Just seen Sky Sports this morning and Roy Hodgson didn't include any English player in his votes |
