Daytona should be better after 2014, with the ALMS and Grand Am merging, although I'm uncertain we'll see LMP2 there for a very long time, as there'll be a BOP to match them with those ugly Daytona Protoypes.
I had little interest in endurance racing as it was, but with this merger it's just dead in the water. They can't reconcile the DPs that have straightline speed with the LMPs that have all the downfoce. It'll be a guaranteed mess.
Apparently the DP would be getting carbon brakes and bigger air restrictors, whereas LMPs would lost their front flaps, so that'd make things a little more even. That's without saying that DP are currently 2 seconds slower than LMPC (third class of LMP) on most tracks.
But, if the BOP is correct, DP will still cost much less to get and to run, so LMP will vanish in one or two seasons. Why pay more for the same thing ?

The problem is that the difference is 2 seconds on one track, 5 on another, 4 on another, and there's literally no way to equalize on all tracks.

BTCC. Anyone else here who likes? Also, I miss the former Champ Car World Series, never missed a race since Bourdais was crowned champion for the first time, until it stopped.

That's the principle of a BOP, a decent compromise between cars and tracks. It's perfect almost nowhere, but decent on most places. Many series are using it successfully (with cars more comparable than DP and LMP2 though).
A test was conducted in Daytona in November, with a P2 without front flaps and running on Grand Am Continental tyres (which must have felt like running with wooden shoes). The difference was about 1% against DP (1'41" for the LMP2, 1'42" for the fastest DP).
At Mid Ohio this year it was :
ALMS:
P2: 1'13"
PC: 1'15"
GTE: 1'19"
GRAN AM:
DP: 1'18"
GT: 1'25"
And in Laguna Seca :
ALMS:
P2: 1'15"
PC: 1'17"
GTE: 1'22"
GRAN AM
DP: 1'21"
GT: 1'27"
It'd be easier to match DP with ALMS' GT cars

Is anyone following AMA Supercross here?? Could watch it last year with 1 week delay on the tv (Motors TV), but they don't broadcast it this year. And just found out that the day after the race is already on Youtube.
It's really great, exciting motoX at a very high level, with the main event being about 18 minutes. Have no real favourite in the 450-class (the main class), like Villopoto, Dungey, Reed, Stewart. In the 250 (lites) it's German Ken Roczen.
Oh, and most of the MOnster-babes posted in my story: yep, they're babes with these events

Indycar riders do have a sense of humor, iirc the even made a "The Office" parody called "The Off-Season" with Hunter-Reay, Power, Wilson and somebody else
edit: it's Will Power, James Hinchcliffe, Charlie Kimball and Josef Newgarden

This weekend starts the 2013 World Superbike and Supersport Championships in Phillip Island, Australia, looking forward for this season! I think Carlos Checa, Marco Melandri and Tom Sykes might be the main contenders for the season, but througout the year we'll see if there's anyone else to add to the list. Right now, Checa will start from pole-position, with Eugene Laverty and Michel Fabrizio second and third respectively. In Supersport it's Sam Lowes who will start from pole, followed by current champion Kenan Sofuoglu and veteran Fabien Foret.
