Jacob's Creek Tour Down Under Stage 2
The 2nd stage is quite different from the first one. Well, at least in paper, it is. CSC will try to control the race and protect their leader.
With 25 km to go the BOD is on sight and still has 2' on the peloton. A very good work between these 5 men.
CSC is now chasing hard with the help of Rabobank Continental Team with youngmen Lars Boom, Tom Veelers and Martin Maskaant. Spoiler Back in 2006 Tour Down Under wasn't really on the map for the major teams and only Milram came to Australia from 1st division
And a young guy from South Australia team attacks...his name is Matthew Goss and he's soon followed by others. But quickly CSC brings them back.
And with 5 km to go all the escapees are caught.
The final sprint is launched and Pidgorny is on the front...
...Barloworld has 2 well placed men, so has CSC with O'Grady right back...
and what a win to Jakob Piil! Arvesen was on his wheel and took 2nd with O'Grady being 4th. What a day to CSC!!

Jacob's Creek Tour Down Under Stage 3
Another day to O'Grady as we're back to flat terrain.
With 30 km to go Johnny Hoogerland is working for his leader Abakoumov and helping CSC chasing the 3 men BOD.
And with 15 km to go and the break still with over a minute lead CSC is bringing everybody to the front and form their train.
And as Perutnina team (Bozic, Ilesic) try to break CSC train the BOD is caught!
Arvesen is the fist launcher to O'Grady...
Roberts is the second and then it's Breschel's turn...
...and he does it perfectly, not only assuring O'Grady's win but also taking 2nd place! 3 Stages, 3 wins for CSC!!

Between the first post and the 2nd stage you got your answer. Difficulty: Extreme, but no big names came to Australia. The only Pro Tour team is Milram who has Zabel and Petacchi but didn't brought them. |

The king stage is here. CSC will now needs to attack to recover the leader jersey.
After the first passage through Old Willunga Hill there are some guys ahead of the peloton. Felix Cardenas is the best climber on this race and is now trying to reach the font men. 21 km to go.
With 11 km to go only C. Knees is on the front with 40 seconds on the 48 men peloton.
And we reach the final climb with Golcer and Cardenas attacking and Arvesen trying to follow them.
