Stage 1 - Tour de San Luis
Today's 166km stage from San Luis to Justo Duract features one categorized climb and 2 intermediate sprints.
Team Notes
Today's stage will be a great way for us to show our team colors. There is one goal today and that to set Kenny Van Hummel up for the sprint!
And showing off our team colors we do. Team TNT up near the front of the peloton showing off their racing jerseys for the first time.
It is the young Malaysian M. Othman that initiates the first break away. Soon, 8 other riders join with high hopes for the first break of the tour.
J. Moreno wins the only KOM sprint of the day and will wear the polka-dot jersey.
The breakaway earned a max advantage of 7:56 but our team is determined to make this a sprint finish and let Van Hummel get our team off to a good start.
With just over 10km to go the break is caught and TNT forms their lead out taking control of the peloton. With 2.5km left it comes down to this. Lars Boom leading out M. Kreder and K. Van Hummel. Will our hard work bringing the escapees back pay off?
1km to go! Van Hummel takes off from M. Kreder's wheel with a jump on the other sprinters
He does it! Van Hummel starts Team TNT off with a stage win in the Tour de San luis!
Team Notes
Perfect start to the season and to show our team colors. Hopefully this will garner confidence and support from our fans! Great lead out, not much else to say here.

Great win for the 'worst climber of the peloton'!
I like the reporting style btw

Stage 2 - Tour de San Luis
Today's 156km stage from Juana Koslay to Mirador del Potrero de los Funes features 3 categorized climbs and 2 intermediate sprints including a summit finish.
Team Notes
It is great to see the team start so well though we expect to see the main GC contenders show their colors today. Our plan is to get Lauren Ten Dam into the breakaway to win some KOM points and help Mollema to a top place.
The pace started out very hot today thanks to Team Andalucia and the first quarter of the race noone was able to establish a break. Finally, 15 riders break and gain a max advantage of 2:57.
Andriato wins the first KOM sprint.
At the 2nd KOM sprint won by S. Rudaskov the 15 riders have only +1:04.
The break is reeled in and Kenny Van Hummel takes advantage racing unchallenged to steal the intermediate sprint
Team Katusha keeps the pace high and everyone is still together at the start of the final climb.
Mollema attacks with 3.5km to go after he gets inspiration by seeing his name sprawled across the pavement! Rugano the only one to follow.
With 2km to go, it looks like a victory is assured for Mollema, while Poul's attacks the peloton to gain GC time and the youth jersey.
A 1,2 victory for TNT!
Team Notes
Great back to back victories for TNT. Now to hold on.

Great first stage!
2nd stage was predicted, as Kreuziger's name was written on the ground earlier in the race |

Stage 3 - Tour de San Luis
Stage 3 of the Tour de San Luis is a relatively flat stage that should give the sprinters a chance for victory again today. It also features 2 intermediate sprint points.
Team Notes
The tour could not have started better for us today with back to back stage victories. Our goal today is to set Kenny Van Hummel up for the sprint and retain the green jersey. Though we are concerned with Van Hummel, not being a great climber, that the gradual uphill slope of the stage may take what is needed for the sprint out of his legs, we will hope for the best and give him a chance for glory.
17 riders escaped from the peloton today though the peloton did not let them get far. At the first sprint they had a max advantage of +1:33. At the 2nd sprint, uncontested, only +1:04. They were caught 30km from the finish.
Soon after 2 riders make a break for it. They are J. Moreno and the three time Canadian U-23 champion in his first race as a professional cyclist H. Houle hoping to start his career with a splash!
Moreno and Houle gain a 2:05 advantage however their surprise is spoiled as team TNT takes control of the peloton and catches them with 10km remaining.
With 1.5km to go it is Kreder leading the green jersey Van Hummel ready for the final sprint!
It is a VERY close finish for the top 10!! But it is Roger Kluge who steals victory. Van Hummel faded in the final 20m to finish a disappointing 10th.
Team Notes
It looks like the rise in elevation through the stage really showed in the legs of Van Hummel in the final 200m of the race though it was a great effort. Next year we will plan to start the sprint a tad later.

Stage 4 - Tour de San Luis
Stage 4, a 19.5km ITT around the capital city of San Luis will be an exciting stage that should shake things up in the GC.
Team Notes
Our team will look to a strong finish and hopefully a stage win from our TT specialist Lars Boom. Also look to Bauke Mollema to keep the GC lead!
The early standard is set by Russian Alexei Markov with a time of 25:51.
Three quarters of the way through the riders and it is now Vladimir Gusev, a three time Russian TT champion lowering the standard to 25:28.
Just 36 riders to go and Ignatas Konovalovas, a winner of a TT stage in the 2009 Giro d' Italia takes the lead with a strong 25:19
But it is Lars Boom for TNT with only a handful of riders left that clocks the fastest Intermediate time and lowers the lead time at the finish to 24:56! The first sub-25 today.
Another stage win for TNT!

Stage 5 - Tour de San Luis
This 160km stage from La Toma to Mirador del Sol offers 2 intermediate sprint points and 2 categorized climbs. The stage ends with a 7 km Cat. 1 climb featuring a 1,350 meter climb with a gradient of 8.75%.
Team Notes
Team TNT plans to keep the Escapees at bay while keeping Poel's and Mollema protected in order to counter attack the GC contenders and maintain the overall lead.
13 riders escape. C. Fairly is the best positioned +8:07 in the GC. They gain an advantage of +5.29.
With 95km remaining TNT decides to step up the pace the close the gap on the escapees before the final climb.
At the start of the final climb the lead is still +2:04. However, Mollema decides to attack the at the base of the climb. He is feeling sensational (+5) and quickly covers the gap of the now scattered break away group!
Mollema races to his 2nd win of the Tour unchallenged!!

Team TNT is dominating the Tour de San Luis this year. I will enjoy it while I can because I know as the season progresses and the favorites come out to race it will be much harder!!!

Stage 6 - Tour de San Luis
Stage 6 of the Tour de San Luis. It was always pegged as the toughest stage in the 5th San Luis tour with three Cols to be climbed with the finish only 15 km after the final the Cat 1 Cerro El Amago and finish in La Carolina
Team Notes
All we need to do is hang on, Mollema will stick with the contenders and hope for a stage win.
Today it is 12 riders with a 5:44 lead over the peloton at the KOM sprint point. Best placed is R. Andriato +12:32 in the GC.
The 12 riders gain a max adv. of +7.12 before TNT decides to keep the pace honest. with 40km to go the 12 riders are +3.22 at the sprint point.
Before the base of the final climb Ten Dam of TNT attacks, pulling the peloton with him and bringing the escapees back. When the peloton reels in Ten Dam, Mollema attacks and bring 3 others with him including Poul's, D. Moreno (3rd), and Rujano (4th).
But it is Moreno that wins the sprint to the line beating Mollema and Poul's!!

Stage 7 - Tour de San Luis
The final stage of the Tour de San Luis is a hilly stage with a slightly downhill finish that should finish in a bunch sprint
Team Notes
Team TNT will keep the pace honest maintaining our lead and setting Kenny Van Hummel for the final sprint.
An uneventful stage led to 13 riders having a maximum advantage of +5.48 before being reeled in with just over 15km to go.
With 5km to go a bunch sprint is in the making and team TNT has a sprint train ready for Van Hummel.
2km to go in the Tour and TNT has control of the peloton and is setting up Van Hummel perfectly for the sprint!
At the finish it is a close sprint and it is Cardoso just ahead of Van Hummel (2nd)! A great sprint!
