Meet: The contenders for La Grande Boucle
Yannick Eijssen (ING - Shell)
Favourite numbero uno. Without any doubt you can expect 'Lance Eijssen' to get his 4th maillot jaune. However, there are lots of riders who want to grab it away from him. Last year, he saved it in the TT. Now he doesn't want it to come that close, he just wants to win it.
Romain Sicard (Banesto)
Miguel Indurain enters France with an amazing team. His leader is Romain Sicard, the talent from the Basque Country. The main challenger from Eijssen, as said by many.
Rafael Valls Ferri (Geox - Red Bull)
After dominating the 2017 Giro, people expected a lot from Valls Ferri. Maybe too much. But with Geox getting back in sport, he has a whole Italian team to support him and get that wanted win.
Ken Berghuis (Lotto - Belisol)
The Dutch hope. Since Robert Gesink is a domestique for Eijssen, this gun has to do it. He is one of the best climbers in the world. He recently won the Tour de Suisse, beating the likes of Eijssen. But can he manage a podium in the Tour? Or even more? Only 21 days in the saddle will tell.
Pierre Rolland (Banesto)
He can't be seen as a real contender, as his teamleader is stronger than him. But if it turns out the other way, this guy might give it a go!
Petr Ignatenko (T-Mobile Cycling)
Petr Ignatenko is a Russian climber/timetrialist. He hasn't got the best of teams, but that is not his problem! He will power on like a powerhouse!
Norbert Hintersteiner (RayBan - Canon)
If this guy wins, it will be a shocker. But the new RayBan team is strong. The successor of the anonymous Nelro team has put in lots of money and it has paid off. Hintersteiner, Cancellara, Teodoro Pantani, what do you want more?
Ben Deinoff (Aker Solutions - TV2)
This Norwegian climber may not be the best, but he has guts. And guts get you lots of wins in cycling.
Who will win the Tour? Predict the top-5 and we will see who was the closest in the end!

Yes it is! Your Cannondale shirt is also in it. Aswell as many others

2nd of July 2019 - 1st stage of the Tour de France
The Tour starts of with a 7 km prologue in the streets of Orléans. Todays winner will be the first wearer of the yellow jersey. There are no real difficulties in this route, so it will be a timetrial specialist who will win.
*****
T. Phinney
****
Daniel Summerhill, Tejay van Garderen
***
Yannick Eijssen, Petr Ignatenko, Edvald Boasson Hagen
**
Stefano Pirazzi, Fabian Cancellara, Jesse Sergent
*
Lars Boom
The first one to put a good time in, is Taylor Phinney, with an amazing time of 11 minutes and 55 seconds. The first one to go under the twelve minutes.
But this is soon changed as Big Boy Tejay crunches his teammate's time with 22 seconds! 11'33!
Now it is time for Ben Deinoff to start. Prologues are not really his thing, but he makes the best out of it. 58 seconds behind van Garderen.
Everybody's eyes are opened when Yannick Eijssen, Belgian TT champion, starts. He is the last one to start and he manages to get 13th, 41 seconds behind Van Garderen, who had an extraordinary day.
1 | Tejay Van Garderen | Saeco Cycling Team | 11'33 | 2 | Taylor Phinney | Saeco Cycling Team | + 22 | 3 | Lars Boom | Lotto - Belisol | + 24 | 4 | Didier Delporte | AG2R | + 27 | 5 | Jesse Sergent | Sky Professional Cycling Team | + 32 | 6 | Fabian Cancellara | RayBan Cycling Team | + 35 | 7 | Daniel Summerhill | Cannondale | + 36 | 8 | Edvald Boasson Hagen | Aker Solutions - TV2 | + 37 | 9 | Fabrice Bellier | AG2R | + 39 | 10 | Stefano Pirazzi | Acqua e Sapone | + 40 | 36 | Ben Deinoff | Aker Solutions - TV2 | + 59 |
An exiting day in the GC. The big winners are obviously Van Garderen, Eijssen and Bellier. A sad day for Valls Ferri who lost 30 seconds on Eijssen and 1'20 on Tejay. It's going to be hard for him to get back into the game.

3rd - 5th of July 2019 - The return of a giant - Stage 2-4
Stage 2: Orléans - Melun
Tejay van Garderen could now show off his yellow jersey to the cycling world. But it would not last long. In the middle of the race, an escape was formed with Didier Delporte, Lars - Petter Rinden and Fabian Cancellara. With 20 km to go, Cancellara accelerated.
And in timetrialmode, he powered on to win the stage. And he could pull on the yellow jersey.
1 | Fabian Cancellara | RayBan Cycling Team | 3h40'35 | 2 | Didier Delporte | AG2R | + 1'04 | 3 | Taylor Phinney | Saeco Cycling Team | s.t. | 4 | Adam Blythe | Omega Pharma - Quickstep | s.t. | 5 | Peter Velits | Sky Professional Cycling Team | s.t. | 6 | Edvald Boasson Hagen | Aker Solutions - TV2 | s.t. | 7 | José Damiens | La Pomme Marseille | s.t. | 8 | Francesco Ginanni | Saeco Cycling Team | s.t. | 9 | Albert Timmer | Aegon - Dia Cycling Team | s.t. | 10 | Marcellino Mason | Acqua e Sapone | s.t. |
Stage 3: Melun - Troyes
Again a sprinters stage. This time, Saeco's killer team did bring everyone back and it paid off! Peter Sagan and Matt Goss did a long sprint but it was Tourminator who won.
1 | Peter Sagan | Saeco Cycling Team | 4h17'51 | 2 | Matthew Goss | Cannondale | s.t. | 3 | John Degenkolb | Deutsche Telekom Cycling | s.t. | 4 | Denis Galimzyanov | ING Cycling Team | s.t. | 5 | Michael Matthews | Lotto - Belisol | s.t. | 6 | Edvald Boasson Hagen | Aker Solutions - TV2 | s.t. | 7 | Benedetto Squillace | Geox - Red Bull | s.t. | 8 | Andrea Guardini | US Postal - Berry Floor | s.t. | 9 | Davide Appollonio | Saeco Cycling Team | s.t. | 10 | Taylor Phinney | Saeco Cycling Team | s.t. | 11 | Vitantonio Gabattoni | Acqua e Sapone | s.t. |
Stage 4: Troyes - Besançon
A flat stage with a nasty twist in the tail. Deinoff tried to attack five km from the line, but it did not work out. So, masssprint. Again, Peter Sagan did a long one, and as strong as he was, he won it!
1 | Peter Sagan | Saeco Cycling Team | 6h13'20 | 2 | Andrea Guardini | US Postal - Berry Floor | s.t. | 3 | Davide Appollonio | Saeco Cycling Team | s.t. | 4 | Denis Galimzyanov | ING Cycling Team | s.t. | 5 | Mitchell Docker | Omega Pharma - Quickstep | s.t. | 6 | Benedetto Squillace | Geox - Red Bull | s.t. | 7 | Matthew Goss | Cannondale | s.t. | 8 | John Degenkolb | Deutsche Telekom Cycling | s.t. | 9 | Angelo Cipollini | Acqua e Sapone | s.t. | 10 | Edvald Boasson Hagen | Aker Solutions - TV2 | s.t. |
GC after the 4th stage
1 | Fabian Cancellara | RayBan Cycling Team | 14h23'54 | 2 | Tejay Van Garderen | Saeco Cycling Team | + 29 | 3 | Taylor Phinney | Saeco Cycling Team | + 51 | 4 | Lars Boom | Lotto - Belisol | + 53 | 5 | Didier Delporte | AG2R | + 56 | 6 | Jesse Sergent | Sky Professional Cycling Team | + 1'01 | 7 | Daniel Summerhill | Cannondale | + 1'05 | 8 | Edvald Boasson Hagen | Aker Solutions - TV2 | + 1'06 | 9 | Fabrice Bellier | AG2R | + 1'08 | 10 | Stefano Pirazzi | Acqua e Sapone | + 1'09 |
What we can conclude after these stages is: The Saeco team is bloody strong. Sagan is beast! And Spartacus is back!
Spoiler It's my first story, all tips are appreciated!

For a first story, this is really good!
The length of your reports is perfect, but I hope the reports of the mountain stages will be longer and more detailed

Cancellara is, what, 39 or something, and still manages to pull on his customary yellow jersey - incredible!
Also Cipollini and Pantani haha... At this rate Coppi is going to show up when we hit the mountains |

It's not a bad story at all
One thing i would say, is that if it's just a TDF story, then you're going to be very very short, if you do all the flat ones like this, up to you of course, but just a thought

@baggieboys32, there was just nothing to tell in the flat stages. And I was out of pictures
@pcm2009fan, Yeah, I putted them in myself . Stefano Nardello, Fuente Coppi and Stefan Ullrich are also big talents. Mark Armstrong and Vinokourov Jr. Should also be somewhere right now. It's really fun to see them develop
