Well, ethnically Finnish people are not Scandinavians, whom are some kind of Germanic people, they are Finno-Ugric just like Estonians. (And Hungarians) That's why I said Estonia is North imo, if Finland is North, and Veikkanen was on the list...

A lot of British have German roots - unfortunately, scientists in England have been unable to find a cure so far

Yepp, Finland doesn't belong to Scandinavia(Sweden, Denmark, Norway) but it do belong to the Nordic countries. So the Scandinavia and Nordic countries isn't the same. That's how we swedes think about it anyway.
The reason for Finland and not Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania is a part of the Nordic countries is because Finland share much more culture and history with Sweden(Finland belonged to Sweden from the 15th century to the 19th century). So you right about the ethnically thing but we swedes conquered Finland and force them to learn Swedish and be a part of us.

Actually, he did an OK Vuelta last year, altough he ended as the last i think. He sat in front of the peleton in the flat stages, chasing breakaways. This year i think he was around 20 overall in Tour of California. Still, he really sucks And now he probably has to end his career cus no teams want him
Actually Hushovd gets a new norwegian in C.A, Gabriel Rasch. No one is sure about he's gonna do it, but i think he is a little better than Kaggestad.
About that Nordic team, you should have Rasch in it. Kristoff and Wilmann from Maxbo Bianchi are sprint and climbing talents. |

I would say if Denmark is a "nordic" country Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia are "nordic" countries.
The Nordic countries doesn't include the Baltic countries, so the Nordic Countries are Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland.

And Iceland + the countries Denmark "owns" (Greenland and the Faroes) + the small islands of Norway.
What Andy wrote is correct:

Ok estonain speak..
10 years ago was geographical debat..that Estonia should be inside of Nordic countries list (sad that this didnt work out...we are much closer to finland for our language and people temperament..when to Latvia and dont absolutly mach with Lietuva..who are more close to Polish and Ukraina)..this didnt work out. So if we are political correct Estonia, Latvia ,Lietuva still are just Baltic countries.
But I would like to see Mandri on you db. last Vuelta was just great..he should get next year probably a little better stats. |
