That`s a great team around Weening and Furdi. Very strong in the hills. And Nardin Thiago Duarte could even surprise due to his good combination. |

Such a strong team. Who cares if it can only do a couple of things really well (sprinter, what is a sprinter?).
As it looks right now, you'd have 2 of the top 6 hilly riders in the CTour, and so much depth behind them its almost outrageous. Combine that with a cobbled squad that is pretty competitive (sorry, but Maes is going to win pretty much every C2 race he enters...) you could easily promote..
Not looking forward to facing you're team!

Targeting hills is usually a smarter move than mountains outside of the ProTour. It could play out very nicely for you!

Good to hear! I'm very happy with the number of races that (I think) will be decided in the hills in both C2 and C1.

Announcement
Today three more riders have been added to our team, which brings us to the required amount of 15. One of them will be our second leader.
Yesterday we gained the ability to be competitive in races that are decided in the hills and on the cobbles. But there is one more type of race we want to do well in: short tours with both hills and one or more time trials, like for example Tour de Beauce and Ronde van België. While Shaekhov and Lalouette should be able to perform decently in such races, we decided we need someone who can really get the job done. Therefore we are thrilled to announce:
Lieuwe Westra (31)
70 FL, 67 MO, 74 HI, 76 TT, 74 STA, 74 RES, 75 ACC, 71 FTR, 76 PRL
In the above-mentioned type of race, Lieuwe should be a nightmare for time-trial specialists and puncheurs alike. Also, he will have a strong support squad available to him.
We haven't decided yet what to do with Westra's remaining racedays; send him to pure TT races, or let him support Weening. The former is slightly more likely.
The two other signings are:
Jaco Venter (26)
Despite his age, Jaco is still very inexperienced. We do see a lot of potential in him though, and we know that he can become almost as good as our leader Weening once he peaks.
Antoine Duchesne (22)
This young french talent has been loaned from Alstorm - RBC. We will help him develop while he carries out his support role in the hills.

Indeed this is a good team. Imo the best CT team I have seen.

Strong team that. Seems one of the best out there. I just wish I could restart the transfer season with what I know now.

Weening and Westra would have suited my team very well as well I guess.
But good to see them in a Dutch team. Will definitely follow you a lot and probably next season we will have another close transfer season again. Then I might go more for the Dutch than this year. |

Oh dear! This year I was saved by the Bellis. I might not be so lucky again next year. You leave me no other option than to hope you relegate! Hehe, will be following you closely as well mate.

You will certainly have one of the most interesting teams to watch all season - constantly attacking and with a strong hilly leader. Weening was a great signing.

Announcement
We're done. Today we used our last money on our last rider and reduced our budget to exactly 0. Also, we have failed our principles a little bit. In our team introduction we stated that we wouldn't have time-trial specialists in our team. But after signing Westra for hilly TT tours, our opinion slowly started to change. We realized it would be a shame to make him a part-time helper for Weening, while he could be doing very well in TT races. And if we are going to enter TT races, then why not get an extra TT'er? That's exactly what we did:
Kristof Goddaert (27)
72 FL, 76 TT, 70 STA, 72 RES, 68 COB, 76 PRL
Kristof rides a very strong flat time-trial and prologue and is also a decent helper in cobble races. He'll reduce the damage we sustain in the TTT we're going to ride.
Our sponsors have let us know they aren't too happy about this, but that they understand the reasoning behind the decision.
This means we can post the final version of our team:
See you on the road!

Thank you, Mr Manx. We'll meet on the cobbles and I fear your cobble division.
