Same with Emirates (UAE) here, but there are more riders than one, exactly two. Pfft One is useless completly though...

Lol, don't forget PFG - Armavias main area for transfer is the middle east, and I absolutely HATE your choice of secondary sponsor! We will make you fight hard for the arabs and israelis Smile

Avin Wargunnson
I see only one useful UAE rider we are very interested in because of our sponsor, apart from that Middle East is not much of a focus area...Armavia will hear from us as soon as the transfers are opened.

Parcian Financial Group have pushed on to widen the Israelian focus in their team, and could be ready to spend big money to release Dor Dviri from his contract with Metinvest.

What are Metinvest-Emirates thought on this matter?

Avin Wargunnson
Metinvest already thought about this situation as we spoke with Dor about his future. He clearly set his wish to change jerseys and maybe get a bigger role somewhere. And yes, he sounded especially attracted by the middle East cycling project supported by PFG in the year to come.

We want to renew his contract, as he is too good to be released, but we also believe the suitable deal is possible when the time is right for it. However his national TT title will be reflected in the price for him, but nothing that any team cant afford to pay.

Manager Bjartne are pleased to hear that even though Dor is an important part of the squad, he will be available for transfer if the offer is good enough. Of course the Israelian TT-win boosted his value, and we have to take this into account. We will evaluate the options and you may hear from us in the transfer season.

Equpment for 2013 announced!

Hello to all friends of beautiful sport of cycling, i am Oleksandr Pitin and you all probably know me by now. Yesterday, i attended the press conference in Kiyv, where Team Metinvest - Emirates presented their brand new equipment for 2013 season, where they will fight in PCT division. These are the pictures from the official note we have been handled, because it was forbidden to make own pictures :

The equipment design was created by new star on the horizon, portugese designer Fintas, of course Metinvest did not forget to thank him during the presentation. Metinvest continues to ride and wear equipment from Kuota bikes and Giro helmets.I think Fintas and constructors made great job and i will look forward to see the equipment on the road in 2013.

I think we're really going to be battling on this transfer market  Should be really interesting Pfft And then we'll see some battles at the African races Wink

Edit: I don't know if you know this, but have a look. https://www.crank.co.za/nolan-hoffman-...oping/1589 One more offence and he's gone. Is it worth the risk of signing him? Wink

2013 Goals announced!

With transfer season coming closer and closer, all the teams from CT to Pro Tour are expected to set their season goals for the new season now. So we, in Metinvest - Emirates, we decided to do the same, there is no point in hiding it any longer.

It was long and difficult process of thinking about our goals, even harder by fact we dont have any riders sure for the next year and the team look will be shaped during the transfer season. But we hope we set some realistic goals, corresponding with one or two main signings we will be after.

New prospects on the Ukrainian horizon

Hello friends of cycling, here is Oleksander Pitin once more, coming with interesting news surrounding freshly formed PCT team Metinvest - Emirates.

Yesterday, there was a big announcement from man-game officials, where they allowed the teams to negotiate and later sign from the bigger pool of free riders than earlier suggested.
And as Ukraine is full of cycling talent and experinece, be sure that Team Metinvest welcomes this oportunity and i already spoke with my source about possible aditions to their team from these new bunch of talent.

Denys Karnulin is the extremly talented rider, who was being followed by Metinvest the whole year and the team should do everything possible to get him into their squad. My source says he is a definite purchase, they are ready to give him great contract and develop his talent carefully.

The other names we spoke about are the Sergiy Lagkuti, the experienced all-around time-trialist, or two punchers Grygorenko and Prevar.

Team Metinvest
should and is aware of the existence of second team in Ukraine, PrivatBank and my sources believe both teams can choose from nice variety of riders and will not try to fight each other much about the domestic riders, in the end their goal should be developing cycling in Ukraine. Of course some riders can and probably will be battled on, but we can only hope it will be in friendly atmosphere.

Reports coming out of the HQ of AMEXpc are that just three riders have been resigned for the 2013 season.

i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g369/MHaley45/TE.jpg

Two time National Champion of Quatar Tareq Esmaeli has reportedly inked a contract for the 2013 season. Earlier in the of season rumors surfaced that Tareq was interested in moving to a team that had more riders from his part of the world. AMEXpc manager, Martyn Haley, acknowledged Esmaeli's desire to return to a more familiar environment, especially now that he has a young family.

Insiders comment that Esmaeli appears to be on the move and Metinvest-Emerates is where he wants to go. No negociations have been held, but AMEX appears ready to let Esmaeli make a change providing the details of the transfer can be mutually arrainged.

i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g369/MHaley45/RS.jpg

Several rumors regarding German Sprinter, Rudiger Selig, swirled around the AMEXpc HQ recently. The first was that Selig was unhappy with how he was raced in 2012. Some regretable words were spoken and it looked like Selig was not going to be resigned. That seems to have all changed as Selig now plans to re-sign with AMEXpc.

Selig made the following comments recently to this newspaper, "Mr. Haley and I have agreed to disagree on the 2012 season. I have been able to get some verbal promises as to how my skills will fit into the new PCT team. I have agreed that I will not reveal these promises until after the transfer season, but let me say this much, I do not expect to be the only German on the squad."

i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g369/MHaley45/MH.jpg

In a move that still seems unusual, AMEXpc has offer Maher Hasnaoui a contract for 2013. Thttps://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g369/MHaley45/MH.jpghe young Tunisian improved a great deal over the 2012 season and does appear to have a bright future. Many cycling fans do not see Hasnaoui as a PT rider of the future. He seems to be a better fit for the PCT or the CT. AMEXpc may be interested using Hasnaoui as a chip in the transfer season or they may just realize that they will not have enough salarycap room to sign anybody any better.

Team Metinvest - Emirates respond to the transfer scpeculation regarding Tareq Esmaeli

This would be not the first time, when i will have words of admiration for a still young Qatari climber. Tareq Esmaeli was one of the stars of last D2 season, also it is not the secret that we have been pursuing him last transfers season. With Emirates company supporting us this year, riders from the Arabic penninsula has open doors for a talk at least.

Because of that, the news about potential move sounds very interesting. However with the new high amount of good riders looking for a contract, he is not already a very-high profile rider, we can meet with Amex pro cycling representatives at some point of the transfer period to discuss it.

Metinvest - Emirates contract renewals, no less than 8 riders re-signed!

As the transfer season is behind the door, Team Metinvest - Emirates is ready to proudly present their first riders for the new PCT challenge in 2013. Or at least those, who have their contracts from 2012 re-signed and are going to the transfer season as our riders.

Ukrainian base
As in the last season, our main focus remains of course in Ukraine and in development of domestique talents and level of racing. To achieve that, we have to have some experienced Ukrainian cyclists to guide and teach the younger ones, how to be a professional cyclist. Thus we decided to re-sign two home-grown veterans, Ruslan Grychenko and Vladimir Djudja.

Those who followed closely 2012 D2 season knows Grychenko was coming to that year as one of the favourites for all the hilly races, but he was somewhat disappointing and below his standarts. Because of that, reports that he has no place in Metinvest for 2013 were looming large. But in the end we decided that he will fit perfectly the role of the road captain and tutor for younger rides. And he is still valuable hilly domestique.

Vladimir Djudja is not a rider for a TV coverage, he is more of an unseen workhorse for completly flat races. He could be also useful for TTs and development of young Ukrainian time-trialists.

Experience, future and the exotic cycling
One of the most valuable riders last year was Italian veteran Antonio Bucciero, specialized on flat and cobbled races. Many positive things were also written about his personality and that was no without a reason, he is an ideal person to tutor younger riders.

But the rider, who surprised us maybe the most last year, was Idan Shapira. This intense fighter is nicely suited for uphill sections and he will have a chance to continue and fulfil his talent with Metinvest - Emirates in 2013.

Next rider with the sure spot at the team for the next year is Qatari road race champion Ahmed Albourdainy. His national title important for our Arabic co-sponsor and his incredible riding at Tour de L' Avenir erned him a new contract. We also feel there is still room for development in him.

Should they stay, or should they go?
That is the question, regarding the future of the last three re-signed riders, who were given a new contract, despite being linked to the other teams. We feel they could be still valuable assets to our team, so the potential negotiations will be without a pressure from our side.

The recently crowned Israeli TT champ Dor Dviri had a nice season for us in 2012, despite not being a point hauler. Recent rumours and enquiries are linking him with PFG-Armavia, the team with a new Israeli sponsor and very friendly connections to us.

With the new South African minor sponsor coming to Metinvest - Emirates for 2013, it was a must to re-sign a contract with both national road race champion Dennis van Niekerk and workhorse Herman Fouche. But our team is mainly interested in different type of riders from the South Africa and rumours say, that those two can be the funding stones in the recently formed south African CT team MTN - World Bicycle Relief. All is question of the potential negotiations.

Dead wood
So as you can see, the team for 2013 is becoming to shape up, we believe at least four riders from the eight named will ride in our colours next year.

It is also the time to say goodbye to the rest of the riders, who were not given new contracts. Big thanks to all of them for their performances and one year of their lives. It was a good year with them, but our ways are different. Good luck i nfinding team for 2013 guys!

These are:
Tuguldur Tuulhangai
Denis Kostjuk
Juri Krivtsov
Maxim Rudenko
Sergii Shumilov
Marjan Smigunov

Your sincerely,
Ruslan Popov, Metinvest CEO
