Having already won the Belgian Champs twice with the team, with minimal support, Phillipe doesn't consider that aspect very important. However, a chance to race with a Belgian team does interest him. Pokerstars also have some interesting riders for a potential deal such as Rujano, Degenkolb and Nolf but it would obviously take a good offer to prise the team's long-time leader away from them. |

While Degenkolb and Nolf are indispensable part of long term strategy, Rujano might leave team in case of very good offer or as a part of deal. If training system will stay as announced yesterday, new option will open, as Dan Holloway will receive permission for transfer too.

The Backroom staff at ANC-Halfords would like to enquire about the possibility of becoming a development squad for the Pendletons Twicer squad, based in the same area we feel we would have much to offer as a location for developing talented youngsters, in order that they may become key members of the Pendletons side in later seasons, would this be of potential interest to the board at Pendleton-Twicers?

An informal agreement would definitely be of interest to the team. |

ANC are currently in the process of putting together the squad with which they will be entering the Continental Tour, as we move towards the opening of the transfer window, they would be keen to implement some form of agreement from the off, with a potential portion of the initial squad being Pendletons riders, possibly in leading roles
Thanks

Kenya Airways - Barclays are rumored to have an interest in Tim Kennaugh and Jonathan McEvoy. Would Pendletons be interested in a move? |

Siutsou is still one of the top names on my wishing list. If possible, I'd really like to bring him to Cisco.
Any chance that you're still interested in a deal involving Caruso?

With the former media manager sacked, it is time for a look at how the season has gone up until the start of the Tour de France for the Pendleton's team...
Season Round-Up So Far
Things started badly with Phillipe missing the move and ending up a disappointing 26th in the season-opening Badaling International in China. The subsequent Tour of Qatar yielded nothing worth mentioning and the less said about the Chrono des Herbiers the better.
However, the team opened their account at the Tirreno Adriatico in Italy as Nebojsa Jovanovic attacked from the stage 6 breakaway to take a fine solo win.
He eventually took 16th on GC which was bettered by Phillipe Gilbert who got points on the board with 7th overall.
In Paris-Nice, Phil Deignan took over the King of the Mountains jersey on stage 5 before going solo from the break on the final stage to take a lone victory on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice.
With the KOM sewn up as well, it took 8th on GC from Konstantsin Siutsou, 13th from Kleber Silva and a team classification victory to put the cherry on top.
Bernard Kohl rode to a frustrating 16th in the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya before Phillipe grabbed some points with 8th in the Primavera. Vladimir Gusev, our new signing for the cobbles, failed to get any big results in the opening classics, claiming 13th in Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, 14th in the East Midlands Cicle Classic and 22nd in Gent-Wevelgem. Phillipe finished 13th in Rund um Koln and Vuelta al Pais Vasco. Results did pick up though, Gusev rescuing his season with a strong podium in the Ronde van Vlaanderen and 7th in Paris-Roubaix.
Phillipe failed to replicate his biggest win of last season, only finishing 14th in the Amstel Gold Race. 6th in Fleche Wallone and 16th in Liege-Bastogne-Liege meant that his 2013 in the Ardennes was significantly less successful. 16th for Konstantin Siutsou in Tour de Romandie was much as expected and set us up in need of something in the way of a good result coming into our first Grand Tour of the year.
Gregory Rast wore the mountain jersey for several days at the Giro and Bernard Kohl and Tom Faiers ground their way round Italy for 15th and 17th place respectively. 11th and 13th overall for Vladimir Gusev and Dan Martin were earned in the simultaneously-held Tour of California.
Pendleton's and Dan took this form and rode straight into the team's 2nd Grand Tour at the Vuelta. Tim Kennaugh took the first result for the team with an agonisingly close 2nd on the summit finish at Velez Rubio. Yet it was only the following day that the team broke their GT duck as Jonathan McEvoy outsprinted his breakaway companions to win the 8th stage.
Kennaugh and McEvoy both gained further stage podiums, McEvoy's an impressive 3rd in the final mass sprint. Dan Martin also gained a pleasing 10th overall.
After that, the build-up to the biggest race of the year began. Dan Martin took 7th overall at the Criterium du Dauphine Libere but it was in the Tour de Suisse where the best results were to be found, Bernard Kohl finishing 3rd on GC, Carlos Oyarzun winning the climber's classification and Pendleton's the team classification. Our final result before the Tour was 7th for Phillipe in the Classique du Grand Duche.
So there it is, our year so far. And here it is now, the Tour. The biggest race of the year, the most coverage, the most points; it's hugely important. And, with the team in the thick of the relegation battle, it's certainly important for us to get some results. Come on Pendleton's! |

Tour de France Round-up
Pendleton's were not heavily favoured for the 100th Tour de France with Bernhard Kohl aiming for a repeat of his GC top 10 from 2010 and Tom Faiers hoping for a promising overall result himself.
The race started with a team time trial from Le Conquet to Brest; the team felt they had a good chance after a 2nd place in the Tour de Suisse TTT but the talk was all about 1t4i. Pendleton's were second out on course:
The guys got faster and faster as they went round the course, Ladagnous, Ibanez, Kennaugh and Deignan eventually dropping off the pace, but not before contributing greatly to the team's ride. Bradley Wiggins was first across the line, finishing the 24.7km in 32'30".
The incredible finishing pace meant that, although only 8th fastest at the first time check, Pendleton's were the Tour's first winners and Bradley Wiggins the first maillot jaune.
The following day the team set to work admirably in defending the jersey.
Although it all came back together for a sprint, Wiggins did lose the jersey. Thankfully, it was to team-mate Tom Faiers. Two Brits in yellow in two days - the Tour was turning out great!
Tom remained in yellow until stage 5 although Bernard Kohl did sadly lose 1'41" in a crash on the fourth stage. Tom and Bernard also struggled badly in the first individual time trial of the Tour, finishing 63rd and 86th respectively.
Kohl rode well through the hills and mountains, moving into the top 10 overall, but an unfortunate crash on stage 15 lost him 8 minutes and a top 10 position. He and the rest of the team fought valiantly through the rest of the mountains but he could only manage 11th overall - with a bit of luck it could have been that top 10 he so badly wanted. Faiers supplemented this result with an impressive 14th overall of his own. All in all, a fairly good Tour. |

You can definitely feel happy with that TdF I think. Several days in yellow and two in the top 15 was a fair amount of points for you.

Norway, Colombia and the Battle for Survival
Post-Tour and our team was fully concentrated on our main aim for the rest of the season: keeping our ProTour place. It has been a tight fight all season to stay up and at this point it looks like it will still go down to the wire.
The Tour of Norway got off to a fairly good start and by the half-way point Phillipe was 3rd on GC and Gregory Rast was wearing the Mountains jersey. Sadly, Phillipe dropped to 10th on a disappointing final day but Gregory held on to be crowned King of the Mountains and earn us some valuable ranking points.
The team travelled to the Great Ocean Road Classic down under with few expectations and left with them largely achieved, 31st place for Mathieu Ladagnous about as much as we had expected.
Dan Martin was the leader for the Vuelta a Colombia and we entered the race with high hopes after his strong performance there last year. Things kicked off pretty brightly; a second place on stage 3 kept Dan well in contention.
He continued to ride superbly through the mountains and pushed himself into fourth place overall with a strong performance on stage nine. Dan was second again on stage 11, leaving him only 14 seconds back in second on GC, with just the TT to come. Could he take that elusive overall win?
Sadly not and Dan was also just 2 seconds off the podium! Could these kind of margins come back to haunt us? Konstantin managed 18th overall with David Rosch impressing in 37th.
Our latest race was the brutal climb-fest of the GP Liechtenstein. It was, however, a rather unimpressive performance from a fairly stellar Pendleton's climbing squad: Bernhard Kohl could only manage 14th, Konstantin Siutsou 23rd and Tom Faiers 27th.
So here it is, squeaky bum time. Just look at how close the rankings are:
14 Team Puma - SAP 5280
15 Pendleton's 5268
16 Project 1t4i 5190
17 Team B&O 5025
The bottom 4 in our league of 20 will drop down to PCT - any missed opportunities, poor performances or mere bad luck could see us relegated. So, what chances have we got left?
Up next is the Deutschland Tour, a combination of hills, mountains and both an individual and team time trial that will see Dan Martin gunning for stage wins and a high GC position, backed by a team of climbers and TT specialists. This is followed by a rolling classic around Lisbon, where the squad is simply obliged to turn up and ride - any good result will be a bonus. 8 stages over hills and cobbles face Phillipe Gilbert and Co. in the Tour of Northern Europe. Last year he came 8th but he will be hoping to improve on that result in a race that should really suit him. Following that it's to Denmark, no, wait, Sweden, no, both of them, for the Copenhagen-Malmo TTT where Bradley Wiggins leads our squad - expectations aren't sky high but we're hoping for points on the board. Praha - Karlovy Vary - Praha is another one-day race that seriously highlights our lack of a sprinter and a real focus for next year's transfer season. Phillipe Gilbert will then lead us in our final two races of the season, the new Tour of Tasmania contrasting against the legendary Giro di Lombardia. With the way things are set, it could come right down to these races and we're glad to have someone of Phillipe's calibre representing us in what could be our darkest hour.
So, what more to say? Ah, yes. Come on Pendleton's!!!

2014
As well as looking back, Pendleton's always have a firm eye on the future. And it's this firm eye that takes precedence now, as we look towards transfer season and our riders' availability for next year. All of this of course is reliant upon reasonable contract negotiation from our riders and the division we're racing in next year.

Figured it was same rules as before, allowed to declare interest but no talk of money/details of the deal?

The rules before were to declare interest only in the threads. Goes without saying that no money/details should be suggested until the actual transfers period.
