To solidify that Rui Costa is staying put here at CSC-Orbea for the upcoming 2013 season, we got his early christmas present from Carvalho Customs. The Portuguese ITT National Championship jersey. Special thanks again to the lead designer and maker ANFreeman.

Seems like our interests are going to clash even more than last year. It ain't gonna be an easy Off-season for any of us

If last year was bad... this transfer season is going to be like the apocalypse.

Oh believe me your gem won't end up in your team.
The users here are very good in searching and finding good riders, also talents that can be developed into good/decent riders. My experience from 3 transfer seasons

Orbea Unveils New Frames For 2013!
At first it looked like Orbea was not going to build us a new frame for the upcoming season, but after reevaluating the budget we decided to take some of our prize money to invest in some new frames. Many might recall we didn't win much last year, so yes it was a small budget project. So we called up new local CT team Adira-Isq and asked if their manager fintas would be so kind to design us a frame. And boy oh boy did we go to the right guy, this man has talent. Not only did we make us one frame, he gave us a ITT & RR frame.
I will just let the frames do the talking...

Roman Maksimov Wants To Leave?
During a local interview in Russia, CSC's fast man Roman Maksimov
was asked on his plans for the upcoming season.
"I want out... something is wrong if I can't get a single victory. I don't feel at home with all these Spaniards and Portuguese guys, this just isn't the right fit for me. Sure the money is great, I thank them for that, but the chemistry just isn't there. Right now my family needs the money so I will ride for them, however it just doesn't feel right."
CSC manager Mresuperstar expressed his feelings his this comment.
"Unless Maksimov takes a pay cut during renewals, I can't see keeping him. But if we do keep Roman we will try everything in our power to find him a new home as he is requesting. I'm sorry we couldn't make his time here more pleasurable."

I could be interested in bringing him to Cisco. ltt hasn't responded to my inquiry about Serebriakov's availability yet, so I'm still looking for a good sprinter.

Maksimov likes to see he was options but is thinking Cisco might be worse off than CSC with all those Italians. And he is wondering if Cisco would bring in some more Russians? He is likely to stay at CSC but we would consider moving him if either the offer is a large sum or it's a better fit.
So by conclusion your offer would have to be on the large sum side since it doesn't look like a good fit.

Well, I am dropping the Italian focus. A few will obviously stay, but it's less than 10.
Next season will be built around western Asia, with Kazakhstan being the main nation. I'm also looking for good riders from the surrounding countries, hence my interest in Maksimov. My shortlist includes other Russians as well, plus riders from other nations nearby.

That's what he likes to hear. But I'm also sure there are "more" Russian based teams that would like his services as well.
We hope to keep in touch and find Maksimov a nice home.

| Volta a Portugal | Stage Win | | Giro del Trentino | Win | | Sibiu Tour | Win | | Kenya Mountain Classic | Top 5 | | Team Standings | Top 15 |
Team CSC-Orbea is proud to announce our goals for the 2013 season.
After not achieving a single goal in our first season back in cycling
we took a more serious approach this season.
Volta a Portugal : This goal is strictly for Rui Costa to return back to his home tour and dominate the opening prologue for a 2nd straight year. However if he can't get the stage win there a few hilly stages that should suit him follow.
Giro del Trentino : This goal (along with the next 2) are meant for a man we have a target on during free agency. However if we are unable to get this "superstar climber," then Anton has some training to do in the off-season to step up for the team.
Sibiu Tour : Again for the hopeful incoming rider or Anton.
Kenya Mountain Classic : Perhaps achieving by Anton on a good day but yet again is set aside if we are able to get pen to paper for our #1 target in the transfer season.
Team Standings : This will probably be our easiest goal to achieve if the team improves in the off-season. And it should improve greatly if, well you know already, we get that "mystery man." If not then we could be looking at 1/5 season if Costa gets the job done in Portugal. But hey that's better then we did last season.

I'm curious who the "superstar climber" is.
Valverde on his way here? Or Abal?
