It doesn't seem very likely as the team status has changed to french this season.
Every rider in our team is available at some point, but last year I was able to get 700K for him but rejected in the end. This season, he won't be cheaper. Feel free to contact me once the transfers open, then we can have a look at what could potentially happen.
Also Lavoine stated, that he wasn't to keen on moving to a team, that consequently misspelled his name to Lavione, which sounds italian.

New PCT team Evian-MIAT have admitted that they are interested in a few Festina riders, as well as being scared of SotD as they expect him to get all of the decent French ones. Riders that they are believed to be interested in include Jose Serpa, Ramunas Navardauskas and young talents Michael Matthews and Jens Keukeleire. What does Andreas Johnke have to say about these rumours? |

Jose Serpa is likely to go to another team in the coming season. He has done a marvellous job at our team to make both Contador and Fothen be better, but he is keen on getting his own chances in the future, and we agree with him. He should definately get the chance to sparkle.
Michael Matthews is likely to join up with another team during the offseason, while Jens Keukeleire would love to join the PCT on a one-year loan basis in order to develop into a topsprinter.
Ramunas Navardauskas believes his new national championship will help him get a better contract in another team. We are not going to hold him back, if there is a very nice offer on the table.

Jens Keukeleire would certainly be a rider that we would be interested in taking on loan, and would be happy to provide him the most possible experience to help him develop. Of the other riders mentioned, it would come down to finances, so I may speak with you again when the transfer season begins. Thanks. |

AMEXpc, the new PCT team is in the market for strong team leader and CG contender. Marcus Frothen would be a great addition of leadership and experience for a new young team. AMEX is willing to look outside the box to find ways to acquire Frothen including loans in and/or out.
A move to the PCT seems like a safer option than sending him to another PT team. |

Markus Fothen is not very likely to switch away from the Pro Tour, but we are willing to listen to any offers.

..::First riders announced::..
We are very happy to announce that a small bunch of riders have been signed to our team in the next season.
The first rider we will like to announce is:
Óscar Guerao - Wage: 110.000€
Óscar is set to be our new main sprinter, and will feature in the Vuelta a España in order to put another aspect in the team. Alberto Contador is said to be overly joyed with the signing, and wishes him welcome. Óscar has a very attractive wage considering him being a fairly competent sprinter. He joins Anthony Lavoine as the teams lead-sprinters. With him we also say goodbye to subtop sprinters RodrÃÂguez Segarra and Reynès who both join Santander. Thanks for the contribution!
Besides Óscar we have also signed two of the best french talents:
Alexis Gougeard - Wage: 50.000€
Alexis is a very talented puncheur with a big fighters heart. We believe he can potentially be leadout in biggest scene of classics. In the upcoming season we will look to loan him out to the minor leagues in order for him to progress at a faster pace.
Pierre-Henri Lecuisinier - Wage: 450.000€
Pierre-Henri is probably the biggest french talent for quite some years, and we are very very happy with this signing. Lecuisinier can potentially be a threat to Romain Sicard in the future battle of the Tour de France crown. We are confident that Pierre-Henri will make the absolute top league, and he was a very hight priority to us. We are also with him trying to loan him to the minor divisions to make him progress fast. He is already a very competent rider for the smaller teams.

..::The greek quartet::..
Joining the greek invasion are another two riders. Last season the team bought Georgos Tzortzakis and Panagiotis Vlatos. Both of whom can potentially become leading stars. Another two greek riders have joined the team.
Charalampas Kastrantas - Wage: 50.000€
Charalampas (Champas) is a very talented climber, and although he will never become a new Grand Tour winner he has a high potential, and will become a valuable helper in both the flat terrains, the hills and the mountains hence becoming a very interesting allrounder.
Ioannis Tamouridis - Wage: 50.000€
Ioannis is a classic climber. He is the best greek rider at the moment, and has a huge impact on greek cycling. The talented greeks of the team will be able to lean on him a lot, and we believe that his qualities on the roads, and off them, will be able to help the team a lot.

..::The French era is starting to take form::..
Another two talented french riders have joined the team here tonight.
Yoann Paillot - Wage: 70.000€
Yoann is a very talented rider who is very likely to be one of the finest Timetriallists in the world in the future. Yoann is also a decent rider going up both short steep climbs and the longer ones. He is likely to be a long term asset in the Tour de France lineup in a couple of years.
Laurent Pichon - Wage: 90.000€
Laurent is one of the finest puncheur-talents France have seen in recent years. He will learn from Diego Ulissi in the first couple of seasons, but have the talent and capacity to lead the line in a couple of years. We are very proud to have added another very very large talent to the team.

Team Festina-Canal+ presents Pro Tour team of 2013
The transferseason is still long, and few things can always happen, we know that from past experience. But unless something extraordinary happens then this is the team we are looking at through the 2013 season. Taking the different areas bit for bit, we feel very confident that Alberto Contador and Markus Fothen yet again can provide some fine results for us. Markus had a real off-year last season where he rode very well but got off the bike quite a lot. Tim Dees should provide us some decent results as a domestique, as should Chris Anker Sørensen and Pierre Rolland.
In the hills Diego Ulissi will have a lot of responsible this season, in his first ever sole-captain year. Last season he was the better rider in the hills than Pozzato, and the season before that he was close to the level of Samuel Sánchez. This has made us believe that he is ready to take on the big scene by himself. He will be supported by Bauke Mollema, Chris Anker Sørensen, Ioannis Tamouridis and Laurent Pichon, which is much stronger than the past seasons.
In the cobbles Geert Steurs is yet again our only card. Geert proved last season that he is a very efficient rider, and clever at picking the right wheel. We have to trust that he will be smart as ever, as he is vvery alone in this area. Panagiotis Vlatos, Kristoff Goddaert and ours sprinters will do their best to give him the support needed to make the final kick to achieve positions.
In the sprinting section we have pushed to reach another level. Anthony Lavoine is still present as one of our top leader, but he is facing fierce competition from the french national champion, Benôit Sinner. The combination of the two is probably going to set up nicely and we hope that they can push on during the Tour de France to achieve a couple of nice results. We have also signed the spanish top sprinter Óscar Guerao from whom we expect a strong showing in the Vuelta a España. Óscar is fairly young, and a very talented sprinter. We expect him to be a strong part of our team for the coming years.
For the timetrials we have a team of it's own. We have been pressing on to get good TTT results in the past, and we have decided to put a little bit of extra spice on that, so the list of top TT'ers are Mathieu Bernaudeau, Pierre Rolland, Ivan Kovalev, Ramunas Navardauskas, Tim Dees, Jason Donald, Kristof Goddaert, Panagiotis Vlatos and Olivier Kaisen.
Finally we have a bunch of talents away from the team to gather experience. Especially on the sprinters side we are expecting to have a very strong lineup next season with Tzortzakis, Bouhanni, Coquard and Keukeleire, all of which have reached a very decent level at the end of the year we think. Pierre-Henri Lecuisinier will be back after a season in the lower levels, but whether or not he will be satisfied with riding as a domestique for the PT team is yet to be seen.

Yeah it will definately hurt my results this season, but that was the prize I had to pay to transform my team, which was important for me. Hopefully my team will be very strong in 2 seasons time. Most of my team is very young, so I don't have to change all that many riders. - Only 4 out of 30 riders are too old to be trained, so I'm very confident that my team will be strong in the future. Perhaps Fothen will be sold next season to get extra money for training my youngsters. I would love to make Tim Dees a very strong GC rider, as I really like him. Also Pierre Rolland will probably become significantly better from training in the future - If I can't get a hold on one of the better french climbers such as Pinot.
11 frenchies in total is pretty nice, and 4 greeks. One of them will probably go after the season though as he is 33 years old.

The team is officially complete. A few late minutes changes has been made, so Kristof Goddaert and Olivier Kaisen has been sold. Instead two talented riders in Cedric Lebris and Piter Campero have been brought in. Out TT department has been slightly damaged by this but not significantly, and we can still feature a Grand Tour TTT with the weakest link being 74, and besides that the rest is 76-78 (Most being 77-78). We reckon that change will be of limited value, and instead we spend some time searching for a lowbudget climber that can potentially be a very strong GC rider. Also Lebris will be able to support both the sprints (which we have a higer focus on) aswell as being cobbled lieutenaint for Steers.
All in all we are looking at a very interesting season where most PT teams have come out a little bit weakened, but not much. We think we are in that category, and trainings and season plannings will be key to achieve a PT top 5 this season.

With one of the best sprinters on paper, and a good leadout train we had high expectations prior to this race. Óscar Guerao never found the right wheel, and the sprinttrain worked horribly. In the end only Bernaudeau did a reasonable result.
