Unfortunately the game switched onto normal for some reason and Moretti won easily. Oh well, onto the next one I guess
Thanks you two. It is great to see him top, he'll lose that spot though as his reputation increases and he's not allowed in breaks but for now he leads.
Thanks Daggen |

Yeah... Switched
The first two races were on extreme then I guess I thought to see if the road game still works, changed difficulty (I'm awful at the road one and was put off the idea and I forgot to change it back
Another report is coming.

Hlinsko
Today was important for our main sponsor as the company originates from the Czech Republic. Let's see what i could manage against a massive Landbouwkrediet-Euphony team which had more than half of the races participants...
I knew they'd try something. They had the team to control the race and any member of their team could win. They attacked early with a minor rider whilst controlling he race on the front. I had to do something. And I did...
After a while of pursuiting him, I had him in my sights. But his team mates were lining up to catch both of us. I didn't stand a chance. He held off my attempts whilst I was struggling to stay ahead of the fast moving peloton (now entirely made up of Landbouwkrediet riders). I was on paper stronger than the rider ahead but his team mates had forced me to use too much energy early on. Once again, I had been outsmarted.
Now it was time for the final sprint. I had failed and would have to salvage something...
Insane...
I managed to hold onto third place but only just. I had ruined an otherwise perfect race for Landbouwkrediet-Euphony.
Strange indeed... |

It is. He was the strongest out of everyone but Landbouwkrediet have a massive number of riders with over 70 in hill. |

Ardooie or how Vincenzo Moretti learned to hate Belgium
I had come equipped with a team to help me this race. Rik Van Looy can have his Red Guard, I have my own Blue Guard!
I was now officially stranded. The peloton fractured and my Blue Guard escaped me and made a new breakaway group. The breakaway was now gaining a lot of time and the race was nearly over. I had to attack...
What kind of Belgian love in is this? I'm blocked by a rider from Belgium letting another rider from Belgium, through. Real fair racing.
I came in 7th. The breakaway won. And although there were three Belgians in the breakaway, the winner was someone from Denmark. I guess that's the one positive in a race full of negatives. If I'd be let through I might have caught up with the break... |

Transfer News
With the transfer period about to start, there is some news to share with you.
Firstly, Sven Nys will be leaving Landbouwkrediet at the end of the year and he is wide open. However, we, at Italia, do not care. We already have a capable leader in Vincenzo Moretti who was recently resigned until 2015. Although Nys is past his best, he will be a large target for many teams.
Lars Boom is out of contract and has not yet resigned with Rabobank Giant Offroad so his possibilities are wide open. He has been linked with several teams including Landbouwkrediet-Euphony. Being only 26 he has a lot of time to get better and may be a future world tour race winner.
Then you have arguably the biggest name in cyclo cross at the moment, 23 year old Tom Meeusen. He is often called the future of Cyclo cross along with Vincenzo Moretti. He will definitely be signed by a big team next season.
However, we at Italia have someone very different to all of those names. We have a strong 22 year old to offer Vincenzo some support in the future. ALready a proven rider in the under twenty three category, we have signed Luciano Colombo, a talented rider who may just become great with time.

@Ian Butler A bit like Roberto up a mountain
Yeah, he's had some good results so far and it's going quickly so far. It will slow down next week but will be quick over the weekend too. My aim is for the season to end by Sunday in two weeks but at this rate it'll be over at around Wednesday next week as season's are very short in this database |

NEPCX - Race 3 (Providence) or stop fuelling the fire of my wrath
I came without a team last time after the disaster of the last race.
I countered an early attack hoping to have a breakaway win.
So yeah, I was caught up along with my friends. It was obvious Landbouwkrediet were up to something, but I wasn't sure what...
Oh how I love how the Landbouwkrediet system works. Catch up with the Italian, let fellow countryman escape. Control peloton till gap is unassailable and voilà ! Take second place after Italian is tired from attacking and trying to catch up with Belgian in break. Simples.
A little weird, midway through controlling the peloton a rider stretches whilst turning a corner.
... Stretching? Uphill? There must be a back problem going throughout the peloton, I sure hope I don't get it, especially since it seems to =make you so desperate to stretch that you do it uphill...
Me, falling into the trap...
A Landbouwkrediet rider Spoiler gets their head replaced with a branch breaks away to take second place behind another Belgian.
I took fourth place today and I am mad. They will pay for this insult! |

A bittersweet month for the team in Oktober. We did well and have begun to settle in and have signed two very strong young talents to add to Vincenzo's 'Blue Guard'. However, Belgian alliances prevented him from victory this month and he is now only in fourth of the CQ Rankings. Maybe he can push back onto the podium but it is looking very unlikely as the favourites gain form.
1st Sven Nys 630
2nd Kevin Pauwels 477
3rd Tom Meeusen 400
4th Vincenzo Moretti 276
In terms of the team ranking we have again fallen one point behind Denmark. We are still in those all important promotion spots and hopefully the 'Green team' will leave us be and bother Denmark.
6th Denmark 341
7th Italia 340
11th France 211
Now it is time to move onto November where we hope Vincenzo can add win number two to his palmares.
