Niels Albert won GP Berten Van Damme today, a nice solo effort. His seconds win of the season.
Let's see what tomorrow brings us!
1. Albert
2. Wellens (great to see him back at this level after fighting for his life earlier this year)
3. Peeters
4. Nys
5. Van Leeuwen
6. D Vantourenhout
7. Pauwels (still not quite there)
8. Denuwelaere
9. Meeusen (look out for him, this season)
10 Van Compernolla. |

Damn missed the race! Nys seemed to have raced excellently Again Nys and Albert. Pauwels getting nearer now, though.
Short summary of the race? |

Nys and Albert attack halfway the race. At first van der Haar could follow, but he had some trouble with his pedals so he was caught first by Pauwels and then by the chasing group. Nys and Albert fought it out till the finish. Both riders placed some attacks but neither of them were able to drop the other. In the end Nys suprised Albert with an early sprint. Pauwels came close but never bridged the gap and ended 3th. Vantornout escaped from the chasing group at the last lap and got 4th.

Thanks for the info Wilier, i missed the race too. So nothing surprising here, these three seems above the rest, especially Albert and Nys.
But where was Simunek? I expected top 10 at least...
Edit: Now i read that Simunek fell in the 4th lap and abandoned.

I think Van Der Haar will ride a great season. He'll be this year's revelation, imo. He said he would've finished 3th if it hadn't been for the pedal-problem. Of course, it's easy to say after the race, but I buy it |

It was a great win, he was really dying near the end.
Important is that from this season, the time counts. Nys lost more than a minute and I don't think he's a competitor for the GC anymore. Probably Pauwels - Albert. Pauwels leads by 1 second (picked up some bonis) |

Nys could've gotten way closer but he gave up. He said before the season start he isn't going for any classification. |

Vantornhout just won a cross (outside classification). He left Nys and Albert in the final round. Impressive win for him. |

I'll definitely watch on telly, make a banner that says: AVIN, I'll look for it
I think it'll be an exciting race, I expect Pauwels to come around and challenge Nys and Albert. Maybe he needs a few more races, though... |

My secret pick is Pauwels too, he was very good last year in Tabor also.
