Blythe riding like a different class of rider... Protour teams licking their lips (I'll include JRB in those interested parties).
It'll be interesting to see how that final hill affects things and pretty barren looking roads out in Burkino Faso

Blythe won a sprint? This race just gets weirder and weirder, but better and better for Rapha. |

That was a weird, but very nice, sprint. This is looking more and more like Blythe's race to loose. Congratulations to Cyclevox and ANFreeman though, not too often they grab a win. |

No time gaps? Urgh so disappointing. Albert grabbing some time would have been fantastic.

What a strange sprint
Great to have Croket in the bonus seconds every day, it could be well above a minute advantage to the specialists coming into the cobbled stage.
Still, those splits would have been very important for us.
Also good to see Minard and Thire doing a good job setting up Croket day after day, and thankfully the breakaway is always very small so far.

Well Croket got his win! 3rd place bonus for Vaitkus so the Blythe vs Vaitkus battle at the top continues. Though you suspect the other cobblestone guys are not out of it - one big break on that late cobbled section wins this race so someone like Nolf, Albert or Maes could do this. It depends how the AI plays it mind you.
What a monumental balls up by Pokerstars there, it appears as if it was suddenly every man for himself!

Hopefully with turning to PCM12, this incredibly shitty AI "performances" will (at least partially) disappear...being constantly beaten by 70´s sprinters is ridiculous

My first podium in a couple of months I believe. Good news.

Congratulations
Some weird sprinting again, and I still very much wonder why Croket's bad ACC doesn't hinder him in this race...well, I won't complain
Again feeling a bit sorry for Pokerstars here, even a leading out Minard (great job btw) finishes in front. They might get their revenge on the cobbles though

Good win for Puma and Croket, and nice to see Uugunbayar up there. Shame the ANFreeman isn't around to celebrate Vaitkus' lead, hopefully he'll be back soon. One has to wonder how many points Puma could amass here, and this is without Bennati as well. |

Nice to see Croket breaking through at last. Congrats to Puma.
Blythe will probably wrap up the overall on the cobbled stage. Will be interesting to see how Croket, Vaitkus and the other sprinters in the top of the GC will fare on the pavé.

Well above 200 if the cobbled stage turns out like last year, but I often realised I'm pretty bad at predicting point hauls

Thanks
Last season, only Blythe got a gap, although he was the only world class cobbler around.
So probably a group of 4 or 5 getting a reasonable gap to all others. Nolf, Albert, Maes, Blythe are well above the rest.
More than a minute is needed though if they want to overtake Vaitkus and Croket (both 70 COB).

Oh well. Seeing how far back I can spot Croket on that 5k to go picture, I have to be content with that outcome.
Mohs still puzzles me, and Vaitkus still performs incredibly consistent.

Race could hardly be going better for Bellis and Rapha, but it is a shame that the AI keeps continues to screw up the tactics for the best sprinter in a race, in this case Mohs

Bellis, Croket, Mohs and Van Loocke are next, meaning Bellis is just 2 seconds behind Croket in third now, although now Vaitkus is 21 seconds ahead of him.

It's fine when the reporter mixes up Bellis and Blythe, but the team manager shouldn't

Lol. I even PMed mb after reading the report to remind him to get the name right
But hey, Bellis got 2nd despite not being there, so Id say the race is going well for him!

Yeah, I was just about to PM you back apologising, then I saw your post.
Sorry anyway, I'll make sure it doesn't happen again.

Nearly there, you have to wonder whether all this sprinting is sapping Blythe, Vaitkus and Croket. The Puma power run though is continuing what an end to the season they are having.
I'd imagine the Pokerstars team manager is counting beans very warily.

Oh, what joy to see Croket holding on to this massive lead thanks to Minard and Thire, even though I think someone upped his ACC, it doesn't look like 71
So 1:20 on BPost and 1:30 on Pokerstars, I can't wait for stage 9

I can hardly update the victory count in my signature in time
