Interesting to see Brandle in 5th on the GC. He can get over the Hills and TT better than most of the sprinters so he could be a threat if the break gets a few more wins and prevents the sprinters piling up time bonuses. |

Not good at all by Tennant. Nice and aggressive by Dowsett, but he had already thrown away his GC hopes earlier in the race, and he failed to gain anything here aswell!
Race is very nicely poised though for the race win, an interesting race ahead

It's always a balancing act with my squad and often this season the scales have tipped in my favour.
Here I haven't got the balance right at all it seems. Impey should really be able to be up there with Davis competing but he stays back whilst Kirchen looks to try and win it. Credit to the veteran who has responded to his looming redundancy with big effort.
As SN says this race does look delicately balanced, mass crashes on stage six anyone?

Well at least Gerrans tried something. Though it came a day too late.
Kirchen is on the same time as a lot of TTer's, so the time trial stage is going to be of interest.
Disappointed with how this race is turning out, but as I just said things have turned out well in so many other races I can take this on the chin.

What is the conversion rate of 5th place finishes to wins? I'd like to redeem mine right about now.

Well, Pineau just saved this race from being a complete flop for Focused. Hopefully someone will pick him up next year, as he isn't even maxed yet! (Hint, hint!!)

Traficante looks to be on his way to a good performance here.

Koren is the strongest TT'er of those at 24 seconds behind, but the TT is so short that Davis may be able to hope for a miracle. Even if he does lose the lead, there's time bonuses on stage 6 for him to aim for. |

A good win for Kennaugh, but it will be nice next season to not have the rest of the team waste themselves working for a sprinter.
Koren certainly favourite for GC ahead of the time trial, but Bobridge will be interesting - and I hope Tennant can emulate his PT Tour of Oman TT winning form.

Good win for Rapha and surely the overall win for Koren. Will be interesting to see if Davis can steal 3rd. |

Nice - Traficante in 5th and Bono in the top 20. I'm quite happy for either of them to attack off the front of the peloton in the closing stages and take a win in the final stage.
Let's all chase the break down! |

Probably 9th and 10th in the GC after the final stage. At least i should get some points in my final 2012 MG-race.
