Today I woke up feeling alittle better that yesterday, so maybe this was already my day?
Nop, the my DS said when I asked him if I could get the green light, my only lesson for today was to protect Liuwe Westra.

Paris - Nice: Stage 2

i.imgur.com/Uj9Xj.jpg

So the plan today was today to get someone in the break, (except me!!)
Lagutin was first man out.

i.imgur.com/lPF6M.jpg

But none of us made it and the breakaway consisted out of 4 riders

i.imgur.com/iMGLJ.jpg
They had seven minuts at's most

Cancellara who were second in general, could might try something in the finnish, here pedalling comfortly in the pack

i.imgur.com/0Oa6v.jpg

The teams who wanted a gathered mass sprint today were: Lotto, Quickstep and ofcourse Team Sky

i.imgur.com/y43ag.jpg

Our team gave up completly in final, and the fight for todays stage was gonna be between the big sprinter teams.

It was Appolonio who leadet Swift out in final, he would had made a perfect leadout, if he had hold alittle longer instead of forcing Swift to start a bit early.
But Ben Swift was really strong, and it looked like he had this comfortly in his bag, until the last 5 meters.

i.imgur.com/vApQh.jpg

Nizzolo comes as a rocketshot from pack, and this isn't first time Swift gets his win stolen away from a RNT guy

I can't seem to see the pics, maybe it's just my computer.
Hope you can go in the breakaway later though.

3rd stage, 3rd day and 3rd time lucky maybe? Nopp...
Our DS said that he had big plans for today, since the finnish was medium uphill one.
So maybe the pack wouldn't drive too hard for a mass sprint today, he said (A bit optimistickly).

Paris - Nice: Stage 3

i.imgur.com/V8Cqc.jpg

The stage started out in a very high pace, with lots of attacks,
including Lagutin and Mortensen

i.imgur.com/U2dQlh.jpg

But they were all cancelled, before this group got away

i.imgur.com/j4C28h.jpg
Our man in the break was Pavarin

They were also laither Ghyselinck, and worked together up a lead on 6:30 m on maximum.

i.imgur.com/dNANrh.jpg

The teams who worked today, was the same as who worked yesterday, except Sky

i.imgur.com/J7gW4h.jpg
They soon brought the lead down further, and catched the break with 10 km's to go

We were again helpless in the end, and it was Dumoulin's turn to celebrate!

i.imgur.com/kv0F6h.jpg
If i only coul'd get a free role...

Hi people, can you feel it ?
The intention of the first mountain stage has arrived.
So defintly no chances for today, I thought.
Ofcourse, he said, but instead of just continuing his breakfast he said ''Your chance will come, just wait''

Then he countinued eating.

Paris - Nice: Stage 4

i.imgur.com/u7Y9G.jpg

The pace started out really high, and that was ofcourse because of the huge amount of escaping drivers

i.imgur.com/gGQzK.jpg
here's four of them

Finally! It looked like the break were sat!
PS: The two Vacainsoilel cyclists were Mortensen and Valls

i.imgur.com/dPggC.jpg

As usually, Sky putted a dude up there to controle the race

i.imgur.com/cwTRX.jpg
They closed the gap about 10 km's infront of goal.

Our man in final was ofcourse Westra, but because of the big pack, a sprinter took it! Congrats to Boonen!

i.imgur.com/r6hrw.jpg
the positive thing about seing so much other people celebrate, is to learn a lot of new celebrating methods!

After getting up as usually, I ate and went looking for my bike.
This was the day The GC would be decidet, so probably lots of attacks and escape would be brought back in the end.
So, no green lights for us, before the last climb atleast.
But, then he did something unusual,
he turned around and said: ''Tomorow is D-day''

Paris Nice: Stage 5

i.imgur.com/eZzB4.jpg

As usual, my only task for the day was to protect Westra

i.imgur.com/nvDpV.jpg

And aslo as usual, the pace started out very high

i.imgur.com/kKyUK.jpg

Finally were the break set, with no from my team

i.imgur.com/LKofy.jpg

The big break was caught at the foot of the 2nd category (second last climb) and Gesink used this climb to accelerate over the top

i.imgur.com/2YEgU.jpg

Looks like he stayed away, even know that there was full activity behind,

Next Day

So today was, it was now or never I thought, will running down for breakfast..

Knowing that I had the green light today, I studied the profile map with all of my teamates and the DS.

Paris Nice: Stage 6

Today started off like all the other days; with a lot of attacks!
But we finally managed to get a guy in the break, so not like all the other days Wink

i.imgur.com/Tq6Tl.jpg
Looks like the final break of the day

They break were later joined by Kaschekin, So I thought; If he can do it I can too! And attacked.

i.imgur.com/3T7zw.jpg
Climbing a 2. category, who also was the 2nd climb of the day

But attacking was harder than it looks on TV and it wasn't to motivating either that my DS screamed: IDIOT, why The fuck did you attack when we already had Lagutin in the break?!

i.imgur.com/R93Ou.jpg
me rushing on..

But it looks like I finally me it! All the hard work finally payed of, and for the first time of my life, I was in a break!

i.imgur.com/eOQz3.jpg
I was abit afraid of what Lagutin would say to me, but fortunly, he wished me welcome!

Not enough with wishing me welcome, but he also sat down the pace!

i.imgur.com/U1OPL.jpg
I'm glad he didn't ask first, cause I know I would'a be to cool to say yes.

Since I was in a break away, and finally regained my breath again, I for the first time discovered a bit of the Lanscape

i.imgur.com/jLpmG.jpg
Since I wasn't 100% sure of which way to go, I stayed at the back

But don't get me wrong, I did my part of my the duty to!

i.imgur.com/poSqd.jpg

But the field came faster and faster, so my DS ordered me to offer myself for Lagutin, which I ofcourse understood, ..and when I said that I couldn't offer more, he said: ''Well done'' and clapped my shoulder.

i.imgur.com/14gl0.jpg
Me dropping out of the back

The break was right infront of the 10km banner, even with my
extraordinary efforts. And Westra decidet to fullfill my work.

i.imgur.com/NhOMh.jpg
But he was caught with 7km's to go

And another one for Boonen!

i.imgur.com/nvYgk.jpg

I finished the race last, but even that didn't shake of a tiny straw of my happines!

i.imgur.com/NAmHB.jpg
I may be last, but I may be the happiest to!

I also didn't mind that Lagutin said some promising words to our Manager, who also were hugely impressed by me!

You got noticed, that's very good Smile

sutty68
Great to see Wesley finally get in to that break Wink but all that effort caught up with him later on Frown

dev4ever
Aww, I've never felt this heavy before
and it was surely a big pain in the ass to get up..

I knew my body wasn't used to drive as hard as I did yesterday,
and said so to my DS too, which completly understood.
Then my only task for the day (except to survive)
was to bring some bottles at the start of the race.

Paris - Nice: Stage 7

As usual, it was a big fight to get into today's break-away.
But those riders who never give up, tends to succed alittle more than the
others. including our Ruijgh who hasn't either has his luck before

i.imgur.com/VIva7.jpg

The break got a lead upto 10 mins before Sky finally understood that they had to do the job today

i.imgur.com/Rm5bS.jpg

Because this was probably the last chance to do anything about Wiggo our team decidet to test his legs:

i.imgur.com/fnbQZ.jpg
But he was still untoucheable it seemed

Going over the top, Westra decidet to give it a shot

i.imgur.com/lBLME.jpg
Launcher: Valls

They actually managed to get a gap up to a half minut, before the other teams understood that Sky weren't interested enough to catch a 13th
ranked Westra and started to fear about their own captain position in GC instead.

i.imgur.com/6Zj5V.jpg

After this Smart-move by our DS, they were only to riders left in the break-away

i.imgur.com/me5tY.jpg

Since most of the sprinters dropped at the first category climb, this became
an easy win for Greipel!

i.imgur.com/AYyca.jpg

I've finished lots of minuts behind the first group and since I was together with my team-mate Kenny Robert Van Hummel: I decidet to challenge him
to a sprint...

i.imgur.com/rER6O.jpg

..Unfortunatly I've seemed to misugde his sprinting capabilities

dev4ever
So, it was finally here.

The last stage of this year's Tour, and can't wait to finish it!
I knew I was going to be emotinal when I've crossed the line, and,
the first thing who hit me was also, relief! I've never raced anything this
big and I gotta admit it: that I was pretty afraid that I wouldn't manage to
complete the whole thing!

Paris - Nice: Stage 8

i.imgur.com/e7HDl.jpg

Due to my bad ranked GC-spot, I've started up as one of the first.
Which I were complete fine with

i.imgur.com/rvkDLh.jpg

I didn't give it all, because I knew i were chanceless anywhy

When I've finaly crossed the (as one of the first, actually)
the only thing I wanted to do then was to step op onto the podium, and
get those damn kisses from the podium ladies, before I've heard the fans screame:
Youre my hero! The Best! A Champion!

Because, I knew I wasn't good enough to do that, yet

media.rtl.fr/online/image/2012/0304/7744888455_le-parcours-du-paris-nice-2012.jpg

The GC-fight

Westra had yet another bad-day, so it seemed like he could look
far for that Paris - Nice top then spot

However, a guy who had yet another good day, was Bradley Wiggins
who even brought in Fabian Cancellara who also lost his second place
too, with his horrible timetrial

i.imgur.com/p0IQoh.jpg

and securied his GC-win by winning the final timetrial too!

At least you finished the race Wesley, you should be proud of that Wink

dev4ever
Hello, and welcome to my second race.

This time I'm going to race a classic, my first one ever.
That alone is actually enough to cause quite abit nerves, but since
I've already got P-N in my bag, Handzame Classic doesn't look as frightening anymore.

i.imgur.com/vE5ea.jpg

To my suprise, I was actually given a free role, according to the team plan:

i.imgur.com/Yi91A.jpg

The Race: Handzame Classic

Pavarin was the first man to attack, and it actually looked like he got away

i.imgur.com/QxIJT.jpg

But fortunatly for us, it looked like more people were interested in getting into the breakaway

i.imgur.com/jLEokh.jpg

The break didn't get upto a big lead, so with 30 km's left, a Radio-shack dude decidet to go for it

i.imgur.com/4qZRYh.jpg

But then the speed in the peloton were immediately increased
and the whole break were catched again

i.imgur.com/dN5jfh.jpg

In lack of a top sprinter (I guess), the Sky's superiors decidet to team attack

i.imgur.com/Cstddh.jpg

As expected, they didn't even get a gap, and Handzame GP seemed to be decidet by the sprinters:

Grame Brown and Tom Veelers were in a league of their owns.

Rider of the Month: Bradley Wiggins,
winning two of the biggest one weeks tours, he surely deserved his headline.

Summary: Black month for us,
only a tiny bit lighetened up from that early victory of Johnny Hoogerland.

In other news: A new rider has signed a contract for next season:
Please welcome, Ivan Petrik!

My Personal thoughts;

The march month was my first month with racing,
and also my first month with travelling around with the pros and living in hotels daily.

About the new guy: I don't mind getting a new team-mate next, especially not a youngster like myself.
It will be interesting to meet him, and I hope he also don't mind chit-chatting during the trainings!

So yeah, it's been a hectic month, but I actually liked it.

So it's only one thing left to say: Bring on April!
