Two in the top ten was a great stage for the team
But even better, Van der Sande keeps his GC Lead |

Stage 5. Decisive Stage of the race with tough hilly finish. There was a tough battle ahead of TOsh and OPQS boys!
Break of the day:
F. Sabatini LIQ
A. Grivko SAU
T. Kangert AST
L. Westra KLM
A. Greipel SKY
A. Vicioso KAT
E. Martinez EUS
It was a strong group. But OPQS and BMC always had it under control
WITH 18 KM TO GO! Following riders COUNTERATTACKED
M. Burghardt BMC
F. Cancellara RNT
C. Kern EUC
Very strong group but OPQS thanks to huge work pulled them back again.
The peloton was down to 60 riders thanks to that hill
Dropped riders like:
T. Farrar GRS
M. Cavendish SKY
With Cancellara Group reeled back in and 10KM TO GO
L. Westra KLM
A. Grivko SAU
Tried their luck once again. These 2 are good time triallists!
BUT 3 KM TO GO. Gruppo Compacto!
P. Gilbert BMC ATTACKED!
and
T. van der Sande OPQ
G. van Keirsbulck OPQ
D. di Luca BMC
follow him!
Amazing ride from van Keirsbulck didnt expect him to be that strong today!
But Big Phil was too much for Tosh
P. Gilbert BMC WINS THE STAGE
T. van der Sande OPQ 2nd
C. Horner LIQ 3rd

Oh no, Van der Sande has lost the GC lead by just 3 seconds
You just have to get it back on the last stage |

Take 4 secondes in the intermediate sprints. Would be fun if you pull that off. |

Stage 6.
TOSH NEEDS TO FIND 3 Secs on 90km flat stage! Mission Impossible? Impossible is nothing.
So from the off we got:
G. van Keirsbulck OPQ Attacking for a setup to Tosh's attack!
BMC did not pursue him, He got a 1 min advantage over the pack!
Kwiatkowski OPQ attack and Tosh van der Sande OPQ ATTACK and join van Keirsbulck in the break WITH 10 KM TO 1st INTERMEDIATE SPRINT!
The gap is 33'
WITH 3 KM TO GO the gap is exactly 1 minute. Tosh seems gonna win 3 secs back!
He indeed does:
1. van der Sande 2. Kwiatkowski 3. van Keirsbulck lock out all OPQ intermediate sprint
van der Sande and Kwiatkowski kept going to 2nd Intermediate Sprint. van Keirsbulck has been dropped! But S. Ivanov TIN and J. Engoulvent SAU joined them!
Gap was only 29 secs with sprint 3 km away! Tense stuff
ENGOULVENT took the 2nd sprint with VAN DER SANDE 2nd! TOSH IS THE VIRTUAL LEADER!
Literally metres after the sprint theyve been caught!
Now all Tosh has to do is too finish in the Peloton and hope Gilbert somehow doesnt get a stage podium!
MASS SPRINT!
Fenn choose to sit on Cavs wheel
Which turned to be a mistake.... for some reason Cavendish was slow.
and
Kenny van Hummel KLM netted his 2nd stage win!
Andrew Fenn 4th!
BUT NO GILBERT IN TOP 3 MEANS VAN DER SANDE WINS THE RACE!
1 | Kenny Van Hummel | KLM - DCM | 1h59'27 | 2 | Mark Renshaw | Rabobank Cycling Team | s.t. | 3 | José Joaquín Rojas | Movistar Team | s.t. | 4 | Andrew Fenn | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | s.t. | 5 | Ben Swift | Sky Procycling | s.t. | 6 | Mark Cavendish | Sky Procycling | s.t. | 7 | Matti Breschel | Garmin - Sharp | s.t. | 8 | Alexander Serebryakov | Katusha Team | s.t. | 9 | André Greipel | Sky Procycling | s.t. | 10 | Sébastien Turgot | Tinkoff Bank - Siemens | s.t. | 11 | Marcel Kittel | Team Europcar | s.t. | 12 | Fabio Felline | TEAM UniCredit - ISD | s.t. | 13 | Tyler Farrar | Garmin - Sharp | s.t. | 14 | Yauheni Hutarovich | Garmin - Sharp | s.t. | 15 | Julien Vermote | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | s.t. | 16 | Ed Clancy | Sky Procycling | s.t. | 17 | Francisco José Ventoso | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | 18 | Philippe Gilbert | BMC Racing Team | s.t. | 19 | Jens Voigt | RadioShack - Nissan | s.t. | 20 | Fabio Sabatini | Liquigas - Cannondale | s.t. |
Huge congrats to Tosh for this biggest win of his career! Michal Kwiatkowski also on a solid 7th place!
