Unbeatable squad imo, although i dont get Boonen there and there is a question if Martin and Velits will give it all, because of ITT. And where the hell is Rabon?

Riders like Boonen, ie. strong rouleurs who can give strong pulls over a long(ish) period are very valuable in a TTT.

On paper they could have put out a better squad...but I highly doubt they'll be beaten. Unless Sky, BMC, or Garmin pulls out a much better team than expected, I can't see any team being better.
Probably will put my "money" on them. |

Yep, OPQS the team to beat in the TTT.
Sky : Dowsett, Boasson Hagen, Flecha, Henao, Stannard and Thomas
Well, it's a decent team, but nothing great - adding that 4 of Sky best TT'ers are missing, a podium here might be a stretch.

Could you imaging if Sky fielded a full team
Wiggins, Froome, Rogers, Porte, Boasson Hagen, Thomas, Dowsett
with Flecha, Stannard and Cavendish all there as spares!
I want to see who will win the Junior Races.
Cause i want Lucy Garner to feature (if shes even going)!

Lotto Belisol TTT team:
Bak
Bille
Debusschere
De Clercq
Hansen
Roelandts
Real respect for Adam Hansen still continuing his season after doing all 3 GTs.

By the way, do the winning team of the TTT "get" anything? Like, are they allowed to wear WC shirts in every TTT next year or something?

As I understand it on the jersey of the winning PT team as a whole not just the winning riders. In fact it's even possible that all 6 winning riders leave a team don't wear the logo and all other riders on the team next year do :/
That team will also wear it in all road events. Exert of the UCI rulebook taken from Inrng:
"The world champion team of the UCI Team Time Trial shall wear the distinctive logo on their jerseys in all road events from 1 January until 31 December in the year following the World Championship event. The world champion in the individual time trial is not authorised to wear the world champion’s jersey during team trial events.
The world champion team of the UCI Team Time Trial shall wear the distinctive logo on their jerseys in all road events from 1 January until 31 December in the year following the World Championship event."

As for the TTT, I don't care. To me it's entirely pointless

Is there any obvious reasons to believe that Contador will win the TT? I struggle to see it happening under normal circumstances, but do inform me if I've missed out on something that clearly states he will be a strong contender. |

I'd be shocked if Contador won the TT, not that much practice coming off the suspension, and a strong field of competition. I wouldn't laugh it off, but he probably wouldn't be in my top 10.
Also, the TTT isn't entirely pointless, it's there for comedy's sake. Don't you want to see how many Asia Tour teams Omega Pharma can pass over the course of their ride? |

Can you actually name 10 riders you think would beat him?
He is in good enough from to win the Vuelta, and come 2nd in the - albeit hilly - time trial there. And its one of the weaker TT World Champs fields for a number of years - perhaps since Grabsch won.

Looking at the startlist, I'd usually pick the following five to be at his level.
Martin
Froome
Pinotti
Kessiakoff
Larsson
And, depending on form, I could see any of these doing a stronger ride than him:
Durbridge
Grabsch
Malori
Konovalovas
Velits
Brajkovic
Phinney
TJ
Maybe I shouldn't have said tenth...I'd probably have him sixth, after that top five. I still would be shocked if he won though, even with the Cauberg. |
