THE AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP
Route Profile and Rider(s)
Goals for the race:
-To be in the break away
The Stage!
40 kilometres out on the stage, things have settled down and the break awya have gotten a 5 minutes lead. The Break away is made by 4 Riders, my own M.Pearce together with Matt Hayman (SKY), Richard Lung (RKC) and Hilton Clarke (UHC).
With 21.4 kilometres left to the goal, Pearce takes charge of the break away which now holds a lead on 2 minutes and 02 seconds. He rides in front with and gives 70%. At the same time a group of 4 riders (Cadel Evens (BMC) Simon Gerrans (OGE) Richie Porte (SKY) and Michael Rogers (SKY)) manage to break away from the peleton. Suddenly the speed of the peleton drops. Orice Green Edge have done all the work to ride the break away ion, but they are no longer interrested!
With 6 kilometres to go the 8 riders have come together in a leading group with 4 minutes down to the peleton. Noone wants to ride so the peleton is quickly getting closer and was actually over 5 minutes behind just a few kilometres ago, still it sure that one of the 8 guys infront will be the winner! (Pearce is exhausted and it doesn't look good, he is the worst sprinter as well with his 64 in sprinting.)
With 4 kilometres to go, Pearce attack! Noone tries to follow. With two kilomtres left he has 18 seconds on the 7 other, can it go?
Obviously not... With 1 kilometre to go, he have been ride in by the other riders, Cadel Evens is just infront of Simon Gerrans. But Nothing is done yet!
And Cadel Evens wins! Infront of the other 3 who come up with 8 kilometres to go. Pearce has no power left and ends on 6.place. I'm happy. I come in a break away, it hold all the way in and I got 8 points in the continental tour which will be useful in the fight for promotion to Pro Continental...
TOP 8
I'm currently 3rd on the continental ranking and hopeing to stay high enough to promote for the next season. |

First of all I want to apologize that it have taken so long between the australian championship and this post.
Tour of South Africa
Stage 1
My team
The Stage
Noone really want to create a break away, so Faraasen easily get's away and his lead is up in as much as 8 minutes druing the stage.
Faraasen wins both the sprint and mountainsprint because he was alone in the break away. I didn't try to get any more than that so the other teams was aloud to fight for them.
With 18.2 kilometres to go Faraasen have been brought back by the peloton, perfect timing actually, just before I set up my sprin train.
With 2.2 kilometres to go my team is in a good position, but none of my other riders can sprint so I have to hope that I don't have to open to early with boasson Hagen...
With only a few metres to go it's still very tight, who will win this????
Edvald did! Just on the finish line!!! Very tight, but still a victory.

Little reminder: use .jpg screens, instead of .png, as .png take ages to load....

Well, EBH should win against thoose opponents, but his shape isn't to good. My goal is the world championship so through the season he is on yellow training until may, then he takes a break and focus on the world championship were he will have dark green in training and hopefully 98/99/100 in shape. |

Tour of South Africa
Stage 2
My team
The Stage
Once again the will to create a break away is little and Faraasen easily get's away in another one manstunt to go for the climber's jersey
Faraasen easily wins everything which is to win during the stage, but when we getting closer to the finish line a dangerous attack is made and 4 new riders has joined Faraas, htough I don't longer think about Faraas and I have put my other helping riders in the front of the peloton to ride them back in since I believe this is serious, R.Janse Van Rensburg is in it...
With 10 kilometres to go my team has done an incredible job and the difference is only 1 minute and 20 seconds, though I have noone left to help EBH and I decide that the most clever will be to attack by myself.
With 2.6 kilometres to go EBH is up in the leading group, can he take his second victory in two days?? I believe it will be hard since he is exhausted, remember that he have just been riding 8 kilometres by his own giving it his all to get up...
When the final sprint starts of, there is no doubt who this will be between. EBH and R. Janse Van Rensburg. They quickly makes a gap between themself and the others, but who will take this one?
With a few metres to go, you still don't know who will take this. EBH is comming from behind with only a few metres left to the line, I believe that he might be behind atm but he has the biggest speed, will it go?
It's not hard to see hwo the fans down here in south is hopeing on...
Edvald didn't manage to win this time. Very tight once again, but it wasn't a victory. Edvald still holds 3 of the jerseys though(GC, sprint and young)
