Smileys can have several meanings. Use eyeroll when you would actually roll your eyes. Wink

I like this smiley, the fact that it can be used in many situations is the best on it. It is only on abilities of the people who read the posts , to judge which meaning it has in that situation.
Well, if they are not dumb, they will know Pfft
I'll be back

More or less, I use it whenever I'm being sarcastic or ironic. Which is... often (how often have I got misunderstood IRL because people didn't understand I was being ironic ?).
It sort of means something along the lines of "What I have written just there shouldn't be taken too seriously, it might not be first degree. Don't get me into a word fight because of that."

When I use irony or sarcasm without any smiley, that'd be sign of frustration or readiness to take a word fight with the person I'm answering to, or deliberately trying to confuse people.

Rolling eyes are like the biggest provocation. That'd be "last provocation before a punch" IRL (well, I'm past that age nowadays).

No it isn't Pfft

Actually, it's the official sarcasm / joke / Alakagom smiley Pfft

Yes Pfft

You should all know by now - that me using this smiley doesn't necessarily mean I am being sarcastic Pfft I just love using it and prefer it to the standard 'smiling' one Pfft

What a weird discussion Grin

However, on other sites, ':' + 'P' is a guy sticking his tongue out (that's why it's a P), but here you don't see his tongue out of his mouth, so it's difficult to give a meaning to it.
Dancing banana is much clearer Banana (this is the first time on this forum I use a dancing banana)

Lachi
So if I say:
This is the most useless thread ever Pfft
It could have any meaning or even another?

Ian Butler
That means you think it's useless, but it's also funny, no? Grin

Lachi
No, I meant this is an important thread because now I know what it stands for (or not?) Wink

Ian Butler
strange meaning then Grin
