I like his goals
Except the GT winning, I'd rather see him specialising in hills, sprinting (and possibly cobbles), but if he wants to win GT he has to be incredibly good at climbing and TT, his two "worst" features. |

Those are some great achievements. Would be amazing if you completed them all. I especially like the last one.

This goal is more like a dream, something that every cyclist would like to achieve. Dont worry, i will never make 80+ killer in all categories from him (unless he will be like that in real life), but switching the focus of his career can not be excluded for the story purpose.
@MRS: I thought you will like this goal, it depends on all of us in the future, of course if you will continue your great initiative He has many years to achieve that i hope.
Btw. If you think that i missed some goal that would need to be terminated in the future, feel free to suggest that...
I also updated the second post with a little story...

LOL
Some interesting goals there. I think it's hard to unlock them all but Peter should be able to unlock the most of them during his career. |

It will continue, you may look forward to it in June. I also will be launching the Favourite Team Competition later today
One goal I might add is 1st in WT Points for a season.

Thanks for the ideas guys, these two are incredibly hard (that one from Sutty especially), but i will add them,as they are nice for motivation.
Also the one from Mresuperstar reminded me of goal that shoul not be left out, "the most wins in the season of all riders".

Most wins in the season, okay.
What about a Merckx, I think he had +300 wins in his career? |

That would be impossible to achieve even if i would play 20 seasons, maybe on easy

Hello again, i updated the third post "The present" with some basic team info and first part of the schedule for Peter, i hope you like it.
As you see Peter is going to start racing in mid-February, till then Liquigas has some more races that i will only mention in brief results. I am going on 10 day holiday this Friday, so first reports with Peter will come probably at the beginning of October, the story will finally start at that point.
In the end i chose StanosBase 2012 for this story. It will be at least a bit different for you and me. Not that Pcm Daily DB is bad (it is excellent btw.), but change is needed sometimes and i like stats of Ruben much.
Team Liquigas is coming to the short 3 days long pre-season camp in Lucca, Italy and that will be your chance to be active part of this story as the journalists! Because Peter Sagan has announced private press conference apart from the one with the staff and Basso,Nibali. So feel free to ask some question about Peter and 2012 season ,as well his future, he can answer them at the press conference.

Well, the question is not dumb, but good one, as i left it without a word.
I lost my motivation a bit before it even started and nobody seemed interested much in Peters press conference. Also i made myslef a nice career with Team Idea and does not have any time for this.
But you cant really pick better time for your question ,as the story starts NOW!
Forget the press conferences and talking, lets jump directly to February and preview of first race for Peter Sagan in 2012, Tour of Oman. The actual reports starts during weekend. I will bring news about other Liquigas races at the end of February...
Tour of Oman - Preview
Tour of Oman is the cycling race presented by ASO, recently promoted to 2.HC category. It is combination of flat stages for sprinters and climbing stage to famous Green mountain on day five. So it can be nice early season test both for sprinters and stage racers. The race should be decided on Green mountain, like last year when Robert Gesink managed to stay on his bike and won the race there.
Startlist:
Race Favourites:
There are several strong WT teams on the start, some of them even with multiple favourites, combined with few weaker continental squads. The climbers and punchers are the obvious favourites here, however fast finisher who can hang on on the green mountain can possibly achieve top 5/top10 overall.
+++ Evans, L.L.Sanchez, Kreuziger
++ Brajkovic, Capecchi, Kruijswiijk
+ Gerrans, Niemec, Majka, Vinokourov, W.Pedraza
Sprinters: Goss, Sagan, Hushovd, Breschel
Team Liquigas - Cannondale
As you can see, this is long awaited debut in 2012 for Peter and he is keen to fight for podium places. Important is to form and train our designated ultimate sprint train Oss - Sabatini - Sagan, we will try to take this trio to France later in July.
Our GC guy is however not Peter, but italian climber Eros Capecchi, coming to Oman in decent form, like the rest of the squad apart from Sagan brothers and Oss, who start their seasons here (and they will stay together for majority of the year).

Night before the start of Tour of Oman, Slovakian newcomer in the ranks of sporting journalists, known simply as Avin made a short phone call interview with Peter Sagan, his former school mate from Zilina.
Interview #1 - Winter, Season golas, Oman...
Avin: Hi Peter, you remember me? Avin on the phone, your old mate, we had a chat in January, talking about my new job and how you inspired me to work in this beautiful sport.
Terminator: Hi Avin, of course i remember you, i was expecting your call. To be honest i dont like journalists much, but you are an exception and our deal from January is on. So feel free to ask what you want, i know you will make public only things we will decide for together.
A: Great, so my first question is how you feel now before the start of the season and how was your winter and season prep?
T: I feel great man, the winter and training was long and i am absolutely eager to start competitive riding again. This race shoul be ideal for it. And the weather is nice, maybe even too hot for February.
A: So you are going full gas right from the start, are you here only for stages, or GC also?
T: Stages only mate. One thing is to feel great and the other is being crazy, there is Green mountain before us on the fifth day and i am not a climber. We have Eros for this job with us. For me, it is important to train with Fabio and Daniel, my two excellent lead-outs, and try to come close to a stage win...
A: Okay, that sounds reasonable.Speaking about goals, has the most important races and your program been decided yet?
T: I am not sure we can talk about this right now, of course we spoke about that with my bosses, but my calendar is not solid yet and it would be too soon to make it public. You know my race program till April and that should be enough so far.
A: You are right Peter, thanks for your time and one last question, how you like Oman and the desert?
T: Wait, there is a desert?I see only skycrapers and fountains. Hehe, i am just kidding, i am looking forward to race in the desert and meeting camels. One cannot see this every day and i heard they are delicious when served by the good cook (noisy laughing).
A: Hehe, you are still the same funny guy like i remember you Peter, great to see you are so successful and still you remained friendly.Good luck in Oman
T: Thanks, i am still confused with my popularity, but hey i have a new car and pretty girls texting me nonstop (this is not for the newspapers, hehehe *laughing* ). Bye!
