inigo cuesta-vuelta.
i did won it completely fair, no ladder-tricks, and no long brakeaways. carlos sastre was ment to be vuelta captain, but he had a medium condition and a sucky morale, so he helped cuesta to the win, and got a third himself.
this was a long time ago, with pcm spain in normal
So did I .. I won the Vuelta with Cuesta. I was heading for the mountains jersey on one of the mountain stages with .. like 5 mountains. Anyway, with 10 kilometres to go I had 7 minutes, and I won the stage with 5 minutes to the group with the favorites..
The final result was
1. Cuesta
2. Sastre (+30 seconds)

I won Tour de France, in my first season with David Moncoutié ... I had 2 riders much more capable of doing a great classement ( I.Parra & C. Quesada) but not a target, as winner og even top 5.
I got in a early breakaway in the first mountain stage, to get mountain pionts, but then the peloton didnt chase the breakaway, and I won a solo victory with Moncoutié, the peloton came in 24 min after ... I defended my 1. place and won the tour with 14 min. to nr. 2
the difficulty was on hard, and Moncoutié had 78 i mountain and 68 in timetrial !!! |

It was in Stage race mode on Hard but I got a breakaway of 27min on stage 6!
Somehow I defended my yellow jersey and won by 7 and a half mins!!! |

I recently saw the '09 Giro won by 35 year old Luca Mazzanti with incredible stats of MO71, TT60, REC60. Hardly well suited to GC.
What made this more frustrating was that neither Di Luca or my man Rabon could pull back time on the last few stages. Even more frustrating as my big GC hopes Contador and Cunego crashed out 2 weeks before the start and in the first week respectively.
Oh well, congrats Luca, should earn you a nice little wage rise. |

The worst rider I personally have won with was Sammy Snachez, La Vuelta PCM SPain. Stage Race mode, not career.

I think the most ludicrous one was when I won the Vuelta with Jens Voight. I just know I've spelt his name wrong. |

Bradley Wiggins, Tour de France, and I am not kidding, i won the prolouge with him, and I swear, all but him and Fran Ventoso crashed out on the first road stage in a mass pile-up at the end, believe me, when you see 178 Riders have Crashed at the bottom, it is funny, and all of the riders were hurt and had to abandon (I abandoned mine). Over the rest of the tour, both Bradley and Ventoso acted as a breakaway, and therefore ran out of energy every stage, and so Bradley's prolouge result won him the race.
