Wow, that's wonderful, have they said the release day?
I'll surely buy it. |

October 2013.
But the Aplha game play shown is already epic. There'll be a around 7 months of polishing the game yet to come though at least.
Better to release epic game with few bugs than release the game early, which is mediocre. CA learned from Napoeleon and Empire mistakes it looks.

Still one year to persuade my parents to buy a new pc that can run with very good graphic the game
I agree with Alakagom, better an epic game than a mediocre one |

This game looks great. The first Rome TW made me interested in these types of games. |

It looks great but graphics isn't the most important thing in gaming, if it's not enjoyable it's not worth the superb graphics.
But Creative Assembly now how to deliver, they managed it every single time they brought out a new TW game.

I don't know, everything after Rome sucked except Shogun 2. And most people who have been playing the series from Shogun 1 and MTW1 agree that even Rome was crap. It just happens to be the first one I played so I get a lot of nostalgia out of it.

I didn't really like Shogun 2. Rome was the best, much better than MTW1. I liked Napoleon and Empire too and Medieval 2. And all the expansion packs in between MTW1 and Napoleon. Really the only underwhelming game in the series that I've played is Shogun 2.

Shogun 2 was good. It's just I am not that intrested in the Japanse history that puts me off playing it. Meanwhile, for Europeans at least, Roman history is quite intresting.

So the Steam Fall Sale
Thinking of getting Medieval Total war 2 or Rome Total war (may end up getting neither or both if a better game in a different genre appeals thats in the range of my current wallet at $12 )
Anyway, I think I will be more interested in the time period of Medieval, but I keep hearing that Rome is much better in terms of AI and story and such.
What about mods too, if there was a great mod that "shifted the scales" in one games favour that would be nice to know as well. I think there is a Lord of the Rings one for Medieval, so that would be appealing.

Medieval 2 Total War Kingdoms (the expansion) + the Stainless Steel mod is a VERY good game. https://www.twcent....php?f=314
Without mods Rome is indeed better.
And if you don't have Company of Heroes yet; 2 euro's is nothing for such a great RTS!

I have both but haven't played them with mods.
I played Rome somehow more than Medieval 2 but I can't say why as both are very good.
I think you can't do anything wrong if you buy one of them.

They are the same game engine, largely, so are much the same. Rome with the two expansions and fully patched up isn't bad all things considered. But Medieval allowed some extra AI behaviours to be modded, such as agressiveness in diplomacy, which greatly enhanced the game.

For Rome Total War you can't go past Europa Barbarorum:
https://www.europa...rorum.com/
It is extremely realistic, it makes the game much harder, and it is so good that people still play it instead of the newer games. It completely overhauls the game and adds a huge amount of depth to so-called 'Barbarian' tribes and regions.
