First stage wins are always fruitful, following the Tour de Delhi win this was exactly the response needed by Meiji in that battle for the dreaded lanterne rouge.
Importantly at the other end of things, Aker Solutions and Emu Export are frozen out of the points. Not that Haedo or De Fauw would be expected to get points of course.
Also nice to see proper sprints unlike the fiasco that was the 2011 Tour of America!

It's Jørgensen doing it for us, not Haedo. And I don't like this cold shoulder to our team
Though, I'm pretty sure you've nothing to "fear" from Aker at least, as it will only come down to pure luck whether Jørgensen is in a good position or not, he literally got no help in his sprint preparation. |

This. At least as long as my team isn't in the CT racing against them of course!

It´s always good to see Meji and Oz winning. Less points for other teams to overtake me.

Ah... After doing most of the pace making Maksimov gets boxed in
Hopefully he takes his revenge on stage 2.

I've been expecting this one for some time now, and I must say I'm pretty excited to take part in it. I was sort of relying in a weaker field to take some profit with Nicácio's presence here, but the startlist is much more interesting than last year, so the goal will be a top5 and stage wins in the TTs. Main favourite to me is Anton. Even though he doesn't have a strong team, I believe Hollister will control things and take the battle to Kiserlovski and the spaniard. I'm hoping for some fun in the sprints too since there are so many candidates.

Shame on you, for not being here
And btw congrats valverde. It's always nice to see a victory from your awesome team!

Nice win for Meiji. Too bad it was over Greipel. :/ Oh well. I can live with 2nd for now.

Yay! One of our very few wins on the season and it comes in a sprint! That is a good sign. Means Manan can probably be up there on most flat stages, and possibly even more wins!
Thank you everyone!

Great to see Meiji take a victory. Looking like a better field and set up than the domination we saw last year. Time will tell though.

Also sorry about the lack of exported results. Either the exporting didn't work or I didn't do it. Either way, this stage and the next will hoppefully be the only ones.
Also... congrats to Meiji. When I was watching it, it felt like I was winning somehow

2 3rds, and I thought Maksimov would have had his best chance at a stage win in these first 2 stages because he becomes rather (lazy) tired when the road kicks up. Hopefully he doesn't abandon early either because I still want a stage win from him.

That stage wasn't so bad! Hopfully Manan can make a big run for the Green jersey, however I fear Greipel will win this one.

You have nothing to fear when it comes to the point jersey. Greipel won't win it. Because he's one of the favorites for it..

Can't complain, 6th is one better than 7th
I do have a feeling a breakaway will make it on one of the two coming stages, hopefully our riders saved energy on stage 2, only to be aggressive on the coming stages. |

Didn't expect the sprinters to battle it out, i though Maksimov would get dropped easily so I very happy with 5th.
Great report CA but it looks like you confused the two Russians up with the Hollister and CSC mini-jerseys

Brave ride from Viennet, and it will be nice to have him wear the mountain jersey for one day, doubt it will be more than that one day though, as I can't see him make the breakaway, and be strong enough to win mountain sprints on stage 4.
For the hills, I can only cross fingers Agudelo and Vasquez don't loose time to the other favourites. It's probably too much to ask, but at least I can hope.
And a nice report, CountArach, I enjoyed that Viennet got his time to "shine." |

Damn. But hey Top 5 on the stage, that can't be too bad!
BTW, the KoM and Points results pics were mixed up
