The upside in this race for me is that I send almost everyone except Rabon there so if something happens like this I will have at least 1 rider left who could take over the leadership for the team and that would be Monfort now

Well done Smukulis, deserved victory after all his attacks. I hope the outsider in the GC will lose some enough time to fall back in the GC.

Would have liked the stage win, but taking the leaders jersey is a decent consolation.

Nothing like seeing your team give the overall for the race away.
Needs to be very hard to have any chance of getting that time back. |

Interesting with CalGiant and Volkswagen having a dilemma now of whether to work for their leaders or not.
Great strength from Ginanni responding to his managers rallying cry!
Bianchi doing their best to cover up an unlucky race too.

Suspect Froome could and should have done better there - needed to attack earlier!

It looks like Sanchez had to work but then did attack, while Flügel waited for Noval and just ended up higher than him due to his stronger uphill sprint then. |

While that wasn't a complete debacle, I wish Sanchez had ridden for himself.

That was a huge - and surprising - result for Ginanni. Must admit swearing when I read Di Maggio was following him.
Bosisio decently placed too - hopefully he's not carrying an injury and the team can hold it together over the last few stages.
Lot of work still to do in this race. |

2nd and 11th, that is good, but for some reason I feel it is backwards :-p

Now you really know what "backward" feels like.
4th and 11th is ok, but won´t improve my position in the CT ranking. The wrong teams will take the points here.

ffs, seems like even my riders dosen't want me to promote...
Bah, atleast I got something to build a promotion team on next year, and I will (most likely) accomplish 4/5 goals (and good results in targetted races) so I will have a nice warchest

Been in bed sick all day so nice to get up and find Ginanni tearing this one up.

If Corioni now take those two points to overtake the points jersey from Ginanni, I will be very happy with this race.

Damn split there... a disappointing ending for Oz in this TdP. Well, at least we got some points here, even though I've expected (or hoped for) some more

Finally Wegmann found some good legs.
Two stage wins amd two riders in the Top10. This race turned out better than i thought with ca. 200 points. After the race in Portugal the standings were even closer so any point is needed.

Just like in Portugal not too bad with 15th but had hoped for more. Maybe a breakaway win or surprising top10 or at least better stage results in general. So it`s just another low point race. |

Nice to win this HC race and to get the stage wins.
Pity Gatto didn't try and use Ginanni as lead out man in the final stage.
Thanks for the reports roturn. |
