Tour de Suisse 2012 | 9th - 17th June

Cancellara does like last year, great ride from the top of the climb to the finish line, new best time, 3 seconds ahead of Moser. But Albasini was fast at the intermediate, and Sagan is still to post a time.

Oh God
I'll be back

Sagan is the best. Going to win so many massive races

What a beast. And Monday - Thursday suits him very, very well Pfft

Sagan! He has become an absolutely ridiculous rider, and will easily could be the best story to follow in the TdF, I think there is a good chance he will take the points jersey as he can get over some of the climbs to intermediate points like Gilbert has done.

I don't know what else to say about Sagan. Impressive.

Sagan is a league on his own, so impressive.

Impressive by Sagan, but you have to take account Cance came back from injury just last month.

In the Bayern TT, he was 1 minute behind Rogers in the TT. He's in better shape now, but still not what he would be.

Nailed on for green in the TdF imo. Place well in sprint stages and win some intermediate stages. Cav probably won't even finish the tour anyway.

Carl Wilhelm did the best from GC contenders.

I'm not saying he can't, he probably can go for it. I'm just saying that I'm not sure he will. It's a bit risky to take part in bunch sprints, and it also costs some energy, that you don't necessarily have left in the more hilly and mountainous stages.
Plus TDF awards less points for non flat stages, which might not help him (if Cav' would make it to Paris, which is unlikely).
He might win it Hushovd/Zabel/Freire, as he has better climbing skills than they have/had, but he probably miss a little top speed compared to those.
Anyway, in six weeks time we'll know what he can possibly do in a Tour de France.

Good one Grin

I don't get the surprise though, he's always been great at prologues, and at this age it's only natural that he's progressing.

Not only that but the hill plays into his natural strengths that a lot of time trialists and other prologue riders struggle with.

I just saw that Franky did a very good TT, only 5 seconds slower than Gesink. If he confirms that form in the following stages, i can´t see him missing the TdF.

Great to see Kessiakoff in fifth. Hopefully it's a sign that he's starting to recover from the astma problems. Moser impressed me greatly too.

But Sagan - just wow!

Nice result for Sagan today, would never have expected him to beat Cancellara, but he did Smile

Heck of a talent. He's quite good, but I didn't expect these results this soon.

Great win for Peter, but really not so surprising as he was always great at prologues with his kamikaze style and good hilly abilities in this particular TT.

And something is telling me that this was not the last time we saw him doing good in Switzerland this year, stages 3-6 are tailor made for him. Smile
I'll be back

Great ride indeed, it looks like Liquigas has bunch of future stars - Sagan, Moser, Nerz, Guarnieri and many more, all of them looking like a great prospects.
I'll be back
