Which is totally possible. Sky have brought an all star team here so that if Wiggins can win, he will with the minimal amount of effort thanks to hard work by his team. However, if it turns out that Wiggins comes here as a domestique (see Algarve), then they still have the class to win with 3 great time trialists in Hagen, Porte and Rogers. (I know Hagen can't win it all, but you just can't leave him out) |

Its not boring, its called using your strengths to beat the others, where they are weak. This year, bradley wiggins has been the best time triallist, and if he can stay with them in the mountains like in romandy and paris-nice, he is clearly the strongest rider and therefore deserves to win
That's not what is being said. Wiggins would only win it by following wheels up the mountains and then winning the time trial. That isn't an exciting race at all. That doesn't mean he isn't the strongest or that he doesn't deserve it - it just is a boring way to win.
Looking at the routes I'm more excited for Suisse

Really ?
What did Rodriguez do at Giro on Stage 20 with Hesjedal. Wheel-sucked the shit out of him for 8km and then magically attacked with 1km to go... my god what a achievement.
Valverde is the biggest wheel-scuker in the peleton by far. Wiggins is not a wheel-scuker. He's a climber like Basso, that can't really attack and will have to ride people of his wheel. Would you call Basso a wheel sucker ?

Basso is great in wheel sucking his team mates. But that's normal. Nah, he ain't a wheel sucker, did a lot of work himself. Rodriguez is one, always hanging on untill the moment he sees the flamme rouge, and knows he has the power left to gain some seconds....
Wiggins ain't a wheel sucker either, than half of the peloton is (well, to be more exactly, all but one, only the first rider ain't!)

Well, if someone is making pace, why should anyone bother riding next to him so that he isn't in his wheel. It's pretty logical to get in someone's wheel if he's making a pace. Those who can do better should attack, those who can't... well, who can blame them for trying to latch on? |

Wiggins tactic in the mountains is usually to just to time-trial up the mountain, making the pace so hard that nobody has the guts to attack. That's what I call boring and I don't want to see that here.
Obviously it's great for all brits and sky fanboys, but the rest of the cycling fans is yawning in their seats.

I agree with you point, but now you see this is totally different to what avin called, "biggets wheelsucker of modern cycling" And I am arguing that point, because he isn't a wheel-sucker
Whether it's interesting, well for some poeple it is, for some poeple it won't. It's always that way.

Yeah, it's a boring thing to watch but it's up to the climbers to get some balls and break him - we need more audacious climbers (and dopers) like Pantani back. Anyhow, it's not really wheelsucking. And it's not guaranteed to work.

You can't really compare Rodriguez with Wiggins cause Wiggins never attacks and Basso isn't the best of examples too cause apart from the Vuelta last year Wiggins never rode somebody of his wheel He is a good rider though and doesn't wheel-suck more than any other rider. Would be nice if he wins here instead of the Tour. I like him more for one-week stage races
Pozzato sucks!

I'd like to see him win, too. But I'm just so bloody curious where he can go in TDF. According to most people, TDF will be between him and Evans. |

Wiggins is trying to win the Tour. He isn't there to entertain people along the way. He will do what he has to do to maximise his chances. Anything else would just be stupid. |

Once again, no one is arguing with why he is doing this. The point is that the only way he can win is not exciting. As a fan, I want to see something exciting, not just grinding TT style up a climb then winning every TT along the way.

Agreed 100 %.
Plus he's doing with his qualities. It's not easy for rouleurs, I mean people with slow stiches muscles to attack several times in a row in the mountains. They don't have the explosiveness, it's not a matter of attitude. All they can do is either follow or ride a high pace that might whack genuine climbers (guys who can repeat attacks, but struggle to keep a high tempo - they've got an average share of slow and fast stiches muscles). |

Cannot understand why there are people out there who say Wiggins is boring
If you want boring you only have to look as far as the Schleck brothers |

If it's boring, it's not Wiggins' fault, but the climbers' fault for not being able to drop him.
