The queen stage which will have us ride twice up Willunga Hill. Because of Martens involvement in the crash on stage 4 i've been given the role of leader. I'll also be wearing the young riders jersey today.
A high profile breakaway group today, with riders like Cancellara, Uran, Haedo and Vanmarcke all there. Ten Dam is also there for us.
As we go over Willunga hill for the first time the leading group still have around 3 minutes to the peloton. I managed to climb up the first time quite easily. I'm feeling pretty good today.
When we cross over the top of Willunga Hill the peloton split with around 40-50 riders staying at the front. I was there comfortably but Andre Greipel wasn't able to stay.
As we came up the final climb I moved myself to the front. I don't want to lose any time to the other riders in the top 5 overall. On the left here you can see Ballan attacking. The breakaway will win today. Ten Dam has an opportunity for a good finish.
Martinez takes the stage win. Ten Dam was able to come in for 2nd spot, a good result.
I come in around 20th spot. We'll have to wait and see on the timegaps once all the riders have come in.

A circuit race around Adelaide to finish. I'm the leader now so the team will try and set me up for the finish. If I can get a time bonus I could go past Darryl Impey for 6th overall.
At the first intermediate sprint there was 1 rider out infront alone so I was able to take 2nd place, which gives me 2 seconds time bonus, 2 more needed to move ahead of Impey.
The team did an awesome job in getting me to a good position, I'm the 3rd rider on the right. A couple of riders are still infront of us and may hang on but there's still a chance that we can catch them.
Renshaw just showed me why he was called the best leadout man in the business. Only Greipel and Rojas we're able to stay with us. Sabatini, Elmiger and Barry are still infront of us but we're catching them very fast.
What a finish. Rojas, Greipel and I were able to come past everyone but those 2 were just too fast for me, maybe in a few years time ill be able to sprint like that. Rojas pipped Greipel at the line to take the final stage while I came in 3rd which gives me enough of a time bonus to move into 6th place overall!

That's how it looks for me for this month. I've be given the sprinter role for both, so it's an opportunity to continue my good form from the Tour Down Under and try to get some stage wins!
After the Clasica de Almeria I won't be racing again until towards the end of March. |

Got alot of updates ready to be posted!
The first stage of the Tour of Oman is a flat one, so a chance to get a good result. Kittel, who just won 4 stages in Qatar is here, as is Petacchi, Farrar and Rojas, as well as a few others.
There was a break today but they wouldnt survive. With 25km to go we were all back together.
Vermeltfoort and Niermann were able to do a good job bringing me to the front and im sitting on Kittels wheel with 4km to go.
Kittel was held up by his own teammate and lost alot of ground. I'll just try to stick on his wheel to the finish. Petacchi looks good to win now.
But it's Rojas who continues his good form from the Tour Down Under. I come in the top 10. It was looking good until the little holdup we got with 2km to go. We'll hope for something better tomorrow.

Are you sure that Kruijswijk should be the leader though Garate is bound to do much better with his shape? |

@sutty - Thankyou, it was indeed a good result. I was consistently up there and that paid off
@Vien - That may well be the case, stay tuned
Another flat stage. I'm aiming for a top 5 today.
The break of the day.
They wouldnt survive and so it's another sprint finish. With 3km to go Niermann is trying to bring us along side the sprint train that's being setup for Kittel but Vermeltfoort is having a hard time squeezing through that gap. I might have to ride on Kittels wheel.
Vermeltfoort went on the left side and put me into a good spot. Rojas accelerated past so im trying to go with him. Kittel has just stared his final sprint on the right.
Rojas celebrated as he crossed the line but it was Kittel who took the win! I managed to achieve my goal today and came across the line in 5th so im happy with that.

The last flat stage before we have the mountaintop finish tomorrow. Next chance for a good result is on the final stage 3 days from now so I'm looking for another top 5 finish today.
Another break, but once again they were brought back.
There was alot of confusion in the sprint and I was caught out and pretty far back when the sprint started. Kittel was also caught out so I jumped onto his wheel with 2km to go. Degenkolb is sprinting fast and should bring us close to the front.
That was an incredible turn of speed by Degenkolb. I couldnt keep on their wheel and didnt contest the sprint. Rojas who was positioned much better took the stage today.

I'll be taking it easy today. Kruijwijk is the main focus today. He'll have help from Garate and Ten Dam today when we head up the final climb.
Todays break.
They were brought back before the final climb today.
Kiserlovski was the strongest today. Garate was the best rider for Rabobank today. He came in 8th. Kruijwijk got caught out too far back and couldnt move back up in time. I made it to the finish safely in the peloton.

The ITT which should sort out who wins the overall. I'll be taking it pretty easy today.
Here's me not too long after leaving the start. My legs aren't feeling the best today.
I ended up setting a pretty decent time. I came across the line in 4th place only 1 second off the best time set by Lacombe.
Guitirrez was the fastest rider today. My time was good enough for 13th which I was very happy with given I wasnt feeling my best.

You're updating fast and getting through the races that usually halt most 1-rider stories. Great work so far, great results, great presentation, and this should be great.
And just a suggestion, feel free to ignore me, but you might want to centre the screens and other pics like profiles and such. Looks a little better I think..

@Teddy - Thanks for the advice, We'll see how we go but I might slow it down a bit. I'll centre the pictures from now on
The final stage of the tour, my last chance to get a result. Another top 5 is the goal today.
Todays break. 12 riders with 1 more trying to cross the gap. They wouldnt survive.
The winds were really strong today and they got the better of me. I'm almost out of breath with 2km to go. I'm trying to go with Petacchi but I don't think i'll be challenging today.
Petacchi takes the win. Overall it was an ok race for me, but it could have been better. The winds were very strong throughout the race which played its part.
