Shame that Tim didn't race the Tour Down Under, it's always a good race for him. Can't wait for Marseillaise.
Just one question, why did you decide to move to GreenEDGE from BMC?

A couple of reasons -
I thought it would be cool if he was with Aussies
There is already a popular story with BMC.
I didn't want to have a grand tour GC contender like Evans on my team.
But its mainly because I wanted lots of Aussies on my team too. The reasons might seem stupid but yeah

Grand Prix la Marseillaise
I wasn't really expecting to do well in the stage today so i tried going for an early attack. The peleton decided that there were too many attacking so they brought back the breakaway. So, i tried again. This time I got away with 8 other riders and we stayed out for about two thirds of the race. It ended up being a bunch sprint finish that Tom Veelers won. The best placed GreenEDGE rider was Mr. Impey. He finished 11th. I was happy with my finish down in 25th. Now for some pics of me during the race -

That's me leading the breakaway group
That's me finishing the race surrounded by my team mates.
All in all, a good day of racing for myself. I was happy with my result.
Thanks for reading,
See you soon,
Tim

Vuelta a Mallorca - Stage 1
Today's stage was just a flat stage with a few little hills here and there. So I don't really have much to report about. But I can say that GreenEDGErider Alan Davis had a good day and finished 7th. The stage was one by Nikki Terpstra after his solo breakaway at the end managed to stay away by 46'. I was down in 126th but that's OK because sprinting is definitely not my strong point. here is a quick pic of the team that we have sent to the Vuelta a Mallorca -
The team for the Vuelta a Mallorca race
As always thanks for reading,
See you soon,
Tim

Vuelta a Mallorca - Stage 2
Gin , not much to report today as it was another flat stage. But today there were some KOM points on offer. Fabio Sabatini took those so he will wear the KOM jersey tomorrow. The stage was one by Theo Bos of Rabobank in a bunch sprint. The best placed GreenEDGE rider was Alan Davis. He said that he was blocked in as the sprint started so he couldn't get out and fight for the win. Oh well, tomorrow sees the first of three hilly stages in this mini-tour.
See you then,
Tim

Vuelta a Mallorca - Stage 3
Today's stage was the first of the three hill stages that would decide who won the Vuelta a Mallorca. here is a pic of today's route.
The plan for me today was to wait untl a smallish climb to come and then attack near the top and speed down the downhill. I did this but the peleton decided to bring me back.
That's me attacking near the top of a hill
But on the big hill the names of Kruziguer , Van den Broeck and Gesink pulled away with some others. They managed to stay out and fight for the victory. In the sprint of 10 men, Van den Broek performed the best and won the stage. I finished down 39th place, about 2 minutes ahead of the peleton which included the names of Vinokourov and Van Garderen. The best placed GreenEDGE rider was Simon Clarke who finished 27th. 2 minutes 35 down. (same as me).
I was happy with my race today and hopefully I can do the same over the next couple of days.
That's all for now,
See you soon,
Tim

Vuelta a Mallorca - Stage 4
Today's stage is the second hilly stage of the Vuelta a Mallorca. So this is a race for the GC contenders. Here is a pic of the route -
There were KOM points on offer early and my team mate Simon Clarke took them. Then it was another fellow GreenEDGE rider Alan Davis who got in a breakaway and took both the sprint points. pushing him up a bit in the points classification. At the peak of the first climb there was a group of about 40 riders that rode off the front of the peleton. I was a part of this group along with my team mates Simon Clarke and Pieter Weening. But I was dropped eventually and I was also gobbled back up by the peleton. Here are some pics of the race so far -
That's me and another rider , Reynes from Lotto - Belisol , when we were dropped from that front group.
Me being gobbled up by the peleton.
Eventually it was only the favourites left at the front. It was going to be a bunch sprint between them. Who's going to win????
Roman Kreuziger! Sylvain Chavanel takes 2nd whilst 3rd goes to Igor Anton.
There are my team mates Weening and Clarke finishing. 21st and 22nd.
There is me finishing 51st.
Here are the GC rankings so far -
1 | Roman Kreuziger | Astana Pro Team | 14h00'59 | 2 | Jurgen Van den Broeck | Lotto Belisol Team | s.t. | 3 | Sylvain Chavanel | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | + 8 | 4 | Alejandro Valverde | Movistar Team | s.t. | 5 | Nicolas Roche | AG2R La Mondiale | + 12 | 6 | Daniele Pietropolli | Lampre - ISD | + 20 | 7 | Alexsandr Dyachenko | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | 8 | Esteban Chavez | Colombia - Coldeportes | s.t. | 9 | Amets Txurruka | Euskaltel - Euskadi | s.t. | 10 | Igor Antón | Euskaltel - Euskadi | + 1'40 |
Thanks for reading,
See you soon,
Tim

How much time did you lose? I think you should post at least the stage rankings, and maybe after each mountain or hilly stage the overall rankings too.

Vuelta a Mallorca - Stage 5
Today was the last stage of the race. It was the last day for the GC contenders to give one last go in the hills and try to win the Vuelta a Mallorca. The hills weren't too bad so it was likely that Roman Kreuziger would keep his leaders jersey. Here is the route -
I wasn't expecting much from toady's race. My legs were tired and I wasn't feeling top notch. I was expecting to be dropped on one of the hills. Here is a quick snap of me in the peleton early on in the stage -
I was right. I was dropped on the 3rd climb of the day.
Luckily for me, there was a downhill section followed by a flat section right after the climb. So I was back in the peleton after no time at all.
Then, on the final climb of the day I was dropped again. probably for the last time in this years Vuelta a Mallorca.
Here is a picture of me crossing the finish line for the last time in this Vuelta a Mallorca.
I've attached the results aswell -
