Christophe is a great TTer, so we expect a top-5 on the stage. He may be able to jump to second place with a good ride. As for me, TTing is my favourite discipline, but I am still learning. Today I aim for a top-50.

Our first rider off today was David Veilleux. A great time-trialler, but still not in great form. He finishes in 36th place.

I was our next rider off the blocks. It felt good to ride against the clock, but my time wasn't that great. My final place was 41st, +3 seconds on David.

Today's favourite was Gustavo CÃ©sar Veloso was now out on the course. He doesn't dissapoint, finishing the 12 kilometre course in 16'34". Only a few riders left now..

Christophe Kern, the French TT champ, was the third last rider off. He rides really well, but is still 7" off Veloso and has now secured his podium spot.

The yellow jersey was out on the road, but it was no victory lap. He needed to hold off 2nd and 3rd places, and does well. A great overall win for the Andalucia rider.

And that's the end of the race. A great ride today by Christophe, as well as David. I did alright, and fourth best for our team overall is pretty good I think. It feels good to finsih my first stage-race, and with my improved fitness, my next races will be fun.

My next race is the Cholet - Pays de Loire back in France. I'll see you there.

An early attack in the stage came from Christophe Riblon, so we sent Damien Gaudin out to counter. He bridged the gap, and brought the Frenchman back into the group.

The break of the day formed soon, with 12 riders out in front. Their major gap was 6'45", but it would be brought back with around 30 kms remaining.

On the last group of hills, a small group led by Carlos Barredo attacked and got a small gap. We immediately sent David Veilleux to chase them back. he did magnificently, bailing out the shocked WT teams by bringing the group back together again. A sprint was now inevitable.

And the sprint began. A sea of Europcar riders led by Chavanel was at the fore of the peloton. Mondory and El Fares looked in great position.

And Mondory is the fastest! Bobbie Traskel comes second, with Chavanel rounding out the podium. I sprint well to 19th place.

Hello readers!

Hugo here, writing from my house in Chartres, just outside Paris, where I live with David V and Bjorn Thurau. Me and David are here now, while Bjorn is training in Holland. I am currently doing some recovery after yesterday's race in Cholet.

Anyway, I have some great news! All my races have been confirmed for the year, and I can now share with you my season schedule! It's really exciting to know where I'll be riding all year. Anyway, here is the first part:

This part is super-exciting. First the two Italian classics, then the prestigious Post Danmark Rundt stage-race, then the highlight, my two home races in Quebec and of course Montreal! My form will be excellent here, so as well as hopefully getting a good result, I may even earn a spot in the Canadian Worlds squad! Awesome, huh?

And of course, here is my fitness schedule. As you can see, my peaks are at the upcoming French classics, then the Tour of Cali, and finally the Canadian classics. All in all, my season is rather short, with only 36 race days, but that's what the DS thought was best.

@Zoom Yeah if Hugo's form is good enough come the race I may be able to put him in the team. And even the road-race too which I have just added to the calendar.

With today's break succeeding, Cyril had no chance. He ended up sprinting in the pack with Yukiya, who finished a few spot ahead. A disspointing day.

It was alright for me, but nothing special.

The break of the day formed moderately early, and they stuck in the front for quite a while. No notable riders..

With the breaks lead at over 6 minutes, and no one at all chasing, we took to the front to chase down the break. All our riders were in the relay except Gaudin who was getting bottles, and Arashiro who saved his energy..

And our chase was truly successful, with the breaks lead diminishing very fast. On one of the days steeper climbs, the break surrendered as I lead the peloton up.

And with the peloton shocked by the sudden slow pace, we stopped chasing and I set off alone downhill. Gaps started to form in the peloton, as Arashiro was dropped..

15kms left now, on one of the steepest sections of the day, and I was over the top soon enough, with a strong gap over the chasers! Maybe I could hold on!

Under the 5kms to go banner, I stil have a short lead! I am pushing super-hard to hold on but my legs are beggining to fail me..

As promised, I followed the early attacks in a bid to join the BOTD. We got a decent gap pretty soon.

And I got pretty lucky as we kept away from the unaffected peloton. I was just relaxing in the back, but out gap wasn't very big at all.

Over most of the big hills, with only 35kms left, our lead was around 2 minutes, from it's maximum of about 7. I began leading the group to keep up the high pace and stay away from the chasing peloton.

30kms later, I dropped my breakaway compatriots, who had all been gobbled up by the chase. I still had about 1 minute over the peloton with 5kms left, and with the favourites attacking and chasing, I was comfortably riding to the line!

And the final 2kms, I begin my sprint, still all alone! A chasing Vichot is closing, but is he too far away?!
