Evans - Leader
Zaugg - Mountain domestique
Niemic - Mountain domestique
Martin - TTT support / domestique
Cancellara - TTT support / domestique
Porte - TTT support / Mountain domestique
Hushovd - Uphill sprints / domestique
Voigt - General domestique
O'Grady - Road captain and general domestique
This would just tear it up if there is a TTT. Niemic and Zaugg are two of the best mountain domestiques in the world. O'Grady is a very clever rider who can read a race perfectly, as well as push a pace for a long time in a number of different terrains. Same with Voigt. Hushovd could probably get a stage win or two if there are uphill sprints, but will mostly be helping to set the pace. The three Time trialists, in addition to winning the TT stages could set the pace on the flat, with Porte helping in the mountains too.
The problem that I think most of the teams posted by people here would have is that they have too many leaders - everyone in those teams has big ambitions. In this team however, Evans is the only real leader, except when there is an uphill sprint where Hushovd can take over for that day and potentially win without needing a huge lead-out.

Sad to see this thread dying, I think not everyone has seen it yet, so in this way the people who missed it can post their dreamteam too!
CountArach, nice team, quite realistic too!

Here's mine:
Contador - leader
Rolland - Contador's main helper
J. Vandendert - helper + stage win
Cancellara - timetrials and stage win
Boonen - sprints
Gilbert - stage win
The rest I'm not so sure...
Oh, maybe Evans and Sclheck, so I can just leave them behind, so that way Contador will surely win!

Contador's suspended for a few more months, so he won't ride the TDF this year. I guess your team doesn't work... |

My choice:
Samuel Sanchez | Leader | Juan José Cobo | Mountain helper | Alejandro Valverde | Mountain helper | Edvald Boasson Hagen | Sprinter | Thor Hushovd | Leadout and Breaks | Heinrich Haussler | Ledaout | Luis Leon Sanchez | Allrounder | Thomas Löfkvist | Allrounder | Lars Bak | Flat helper |
Now that's a pretty good team! I like it! Maybe someone even better than Sanchez though?! Great team though!

Here Is my bid for a Tour Dream team.
The GC Guy.
Alberto Cantador, the best gt rider out there, suspende at the moment, but this is a dream team right.
The GC helpers
samuel Sanchez, Contadors good friend the best Mountain help you could get.
Daniel Navarro, Contas right hand will get the work done.
Juan Flecha, road captain, the job is to get Contador through all the flat stages without any losses.
For the sprints
Mark Cavendish, just the fastest guy around.
Mark Renshaw, still the best leadout in the world.
Bernard Eisel, To control and organise the sprint train.
Guys for the flat
Lars Bak, The best Domestique out there
Fabian Cancellara, TT and great in the flat.

Now that is one heck of a team!! I agree with almost everyone but I think instead of Flecha, have Cancellara and then instead of Cancellara in the Guys for flat, have Lars Boom. Also, I'd have Cadel as my leader cause I'm Australian and I favour him over Contador (great rider though!) and also Samuel Sanchez is a great helper but maybe the other Sanchez! Luis Leon I think Samuel Sanchez is more of a leader than a helper but Luis Leon isn't quite up there as a leader yet And id also take Sylvain Chavanel over Bernie! Im not sure who Daniel Navarro is but I'm sure he's good! Great selection!

Let's have a crack: Just note, this is MY personal dream team, not the best possible team.
Leader: Cadel Evans
Sprinter: Matt Goss
Mountain Helpers: Jose Rujano, Alejandro Valverde, Luis Leon Sanchez
Flat Helpers: Mark Renshaw, Fabian Cancellara
Pure Domestiques: Andy Schleck, Frank Schleck

Haha man this is MEANT to be your personal dream team!
Nice team! like the guy above me, i like the idea of the Schlecks as domestiques! Good sprinters in Goss and Renshaw (AUSSIE!! ) as well as Fabian cause he's one of my favourite riders behind Cadel which you've also got! nice team! I like Jose Rujano and L.L Sanchez but don't know much about Valverde! Sounds like a great team! awesome!
