Good luck on getting Danielson on the podium in the Giro. I probably wouldn't have made it, but you are probably a better player then me Wink

In the Giro Danielson will be favoured. In the Tour de France Hesjedal will have riders to help but Farrar will be favoured. The sponsors havent set any goals for us in terms of overall in the Tour so yeah.

Thanks! Realistically I think a top 5 is achieveable but with a bit of luck I think we can strive for a podium result Smile

Yeah Vande Velde isn't quite good enough anymore to be a GT leader. Hesjedal and Danielson are better than him now.

Good luck with this. It's a very nice team to play with. Smile

Stage 2

Pre-race comments
It's a tough finish, not for the pure sprinter. Farrar will still be protected but for this stage I'm allowing Haussler to go for the stage win.

Race

140km to go - A group of 6 riders breakaway, they open up a quick lead of over a minute. Sep Vanmarcke has made it.
i.imgur.com/zumsq.jpg

100km to go - The gap is now out to 8 minutes

60km to go - Sky and Lampre are doing the work in the peloton. The gap is now at 5'40

20km to go - The gap is now at 2 minutes. Can the breakaway hang on?

15km to go - Alejandro Valverde attacks! He now has to cross the gap before the peloton reach him.
i.imgur.com/DLkqa.jpg

13km to go - Valverde gives up the chase quickly and is back in the peloton.

8km to go - Ballan now attacks from the peloton. This looks like a better move and hes almost with the leaders.
i.imgur.com/JGniS.jpg

5km to go - A huge crash. Nathan Haas got caught up in it at the back but luckily no other Garmin riders are involved.
i.imgur.com/89S1F.jpg

1.2km to go - Meanwhile at the front, the breakaway riders have been caught but Jens Voight and Nicki Sorensen managed to slip away and it looks like Jens is going to take victory. Back in the peloton Haussler and Farrar had to spend some energy getting back to the front group as they were slightly held up by the crash. Vanmarcke is sitting at the front.

Finish
i.imgur.com/PS1FD.jpg
Voight hangs on and takes victory. He and Sorensen were given a time gap so Voigt is now the tour leader.

Stage 3
i.imgur.com/oxp21.jpg

Pre-race comments
A flatter stage today. We'll be going for a stage win with Farrar today.

Race

120km to go - A group of 7 riders breakaway.
i.imgur.com/weTSf.jpg

105km to go - 9 more riders joined them and the peloton thought this was too dangerous so we're all back together again.

90km to go - A group of 6 riders get away this time. The peloton are content with letting them ride away. 1 rider is trying to cross the gap.

40km to go - No team has been willing to do the chasing. The gap sits at 7'30. Yohanne Gene is the highest placed rider in the break. He is 58th at 1'39 down. Garmin have sent some riders to the front but it's too late now.

15km to go - Haussler has done a great deal of work at the front and the gap has shrunk massively to 2'30 but it still looks like the leading group will contest the stage victory today. It's still possible however that the gap will be low enough that there will be no change in the overall leader.

2.3km to go - The sprint starts in the leading group. Gene leads with Reynes and Perez following. Sabatini sits in 4th.
i.imgur.com/aptqy.jpg

Finish
i.imgur.com/HeoAW.jpg

Perez takes the victory. Sabatini left his run too late. The gap was brought down low enough so there will be no change in the GC.

Stage 4
i.imgur.com/zxyHO.jpg

Race

110km to go - A group of 4 riders have broken away. This looks like the winning break today.

80km to go - 5 more riders have joined them. They have a lead of 4'30.
i.imgur.com/Fr7gw.jpg

50km to go - Radioshack are working at the front and have brought the gap back down to 3 minutes. It looks like the sprinters will have their day today.

48km to go - Ballan and Elmiger attack from the peloton.

35km to go - Ballan and Elmiger have made it across to the leaders.

5km to go - There are 5 riders still out in front. Lampre are trying to bring them back. Haussler is feeling good today and is well placed at the moment. Farrar is also there.

2.3km to go - Ballan starts the sprint. The peloton are just behind, will they be caught?
i.imgur.com/n2Weh.jpg

Finish
i.imgur.com/jJZ7p.jpg

Once again the breakaway succeeds as Elmiger beats Ballan in the sprint. Haussler came 3rd in the bunch sprint to take 8th. There we no timegaps.

Stage 5
i.imgur.com/YbL7y.jpg

Pre-race Comments
This is the stage that will likely decide the overall winner. Dan Martin and Haussler are our main hoped today.

Race

90km to go - Many attacks in the first quarter of the race but we finally have a group of 8 riders that have gotten away. There are 2 riders trying to get across the gap.
i.imgur.com/8XaUi.jpg

50km to go - Radioshack havent let this break get too far ahead and have been slowly bringing the leading group back. The gap is at 3 minutes.

25km to go - 4 riders attacked from the breakaway on the first climb. They have a 1 minute gap to the rest of the break who have another minute to the peloton.

20km to go - The peloton has been broken up after the first climb. There are 50 riders there. Farrar wasn't able to make it. He will try to get back.

10km to go - Just 4 riders out in front now. Haussler and Martin are sitting in the first 10-15 places.

2.6km to go - The 4 riders are still in front when they start the sprint.
i.imgur.com/TV50o.jpg

0.5km to go - Vaugrenard and Grivko and dueling it out for the victory but the peloton are finishing very fast with Valverde leading the way.
i.imgur.com/wL8JV.jpg

Finish
i.imgur.com/u1fCV.jpg

Vaugrenard wins the sprint up Willunga Hill. Valverde, Voigt and Sorensen came in after the 4 leaders. Haussler put in a good sprint and finishes 9th.

Stage 6

i.imgur.com/IlY3F.jpg

Pre-race Comments
Haussler has been promoted to the leader so we will be having Farrar and co. set him up for the sprint finish. We will be setting the pace at the front in an attempt to get Haussler in a good position for the intermediate sprints to gain some time bonuses.

Race

80km to go - 7 riders breakaway but Garmin are riding hard at the front and are pulling them back.
i.imgur.com/REVBi.jpg

60km to go - The field are back together for the first of two intermediate sprints. Garmin are at the front with 1.5km to go as Haussler opens up. He takes first with relative ease while Cavendish takes 2nd.
i.imgur.com/6f8yL.jpg

40km to go - Garmin were not able to catch the breakaway riders before the second intermediate sprint point so Haussler does not contest it and will not gain any additional time. It comes down to the sprint finish now.

2.8km to go - The final sprint starts. Lampre have the lead but Sky on the right have an extra rider. Farrar has Petacchis wheel with Ventoso and Haussler just behind him.
i.imgur.com/dTLqF.jpg

1km to go - Petacchi hits the front but has Haussler on his wheel. Cavendish was blocked and has alot of ground to make up. Can Haussler take the win?
i.imgur.com/crEkP.jpg

Finish
i.imgur.com/e9y0O.jpg

The answer sadly is no. Petacchi just hangs on to win the final stage but still a good performance from Haussler which should see us move up the overall standings. Meanwhile there was a huge crash at in the middle of the peloton somewhere which took out alot of riders. Only 58 from the peloton came in together. We'll have to see if this affects the overall outcome but none of the top 5 riders were caught out in it.
