General Knowledge Quiz

Geography went quite well I think, with some educated guesses. Next two rounds should be quite good as well, but I sense I may fall quite short on the animals round, while sport and history are always a lottery.

Question 2: How many times is the moon smaller than the sun? /1
a. 200 times
b. 400 times
c. 600 times
d. 800 times

None of those are even close to the correct answer

+1

nor is that geography

and +1 on what is a country

i'm a geography student so im taking too seriously Wink

You wrong guys Wink I am doing physics at A-Level and one of those answers is right one Wink ( well actually to be precise its... sun is x16 bigger than moon Wink

What measurement are you using for the Sun being 16 times larger than the Moon?

No, I meant one of the answers is right and to be more precise its actually one of the answers, like e.g 216, 416, 616, 816 bigger in diameter Wink The 'x' meant 2,4,6 and 8. Dunno why I didn't write that before clearer.

There is no fixed precise answer. It depends on where you decide to reference your values from (figures vary considerably), and how you measure the diameter (both the Moon and the Sun are oblate spheroids (although the Sun to a much lesser extent)) Wink

Indeed, but the most common one is the one with 'x'16. There's great program for plant comparison sizes and it points to x16. Other may vary a bit, but that's the one I heard most. At A-Level the answer is with x16 too Pfft But I know where you coming from Wink

Quite a few entries so far, and most scoring pretty high.

Also, Q2: Sun has diameter A, moon has diameter B. How many times is b approximately smaller then a.

Thx for the cheers in the PM's btw, won't be replying to them all though unless something confuses me Pfft.

Lucky i got question 2 right. Smile

I think the difficulty was alright. I knew i´d do good in Geography as it alway has been one my strong fields and harder questions mean my chances of a good overall place will get much lower. Pfft

Bigger rounds would be great, but it depends on the time you want to spend and the number of good questions you find.

Bigger rounds, harder questions Pfft
If offense is the best defence, does it mean that defence is the worst defence?

I bloody forgot to send my answers!!
I knew them all apart from the desert one aswell (well, I was gonna guess at the astronomy one, but that's what I would have gone for! Wink). Damn myself. That would have been my best round, almost certainly!!!

I'd keep it how it is, bearing in mind you've already started. It was good as well Smile

Woo! Go me! Pfft

Bit harder is fine by me, although that level and number of questions is ok. Smile

roturn
Damn, am I stupid! Wink
It just can become better.

I`d also like to have it like it was in round 1. Same reason. You already started. Wink

Yeah this. And just 3 people got all 100% right, so I guess difficulty is about right.

Deda
I think I said Yangtze was longer than the Amazon, and there goes my +1.
Retard.. Pfft
