Millar could do the double
The TT course should definately suit him though.
yes the TT course is very suited to him and he could do very well, as i think that Cancellara definatley won't win
please do explain. I haven't seen the course.
It's in the main post:
Milalr is good in Hills, Millar is good in TTs. Dont know whether he can win it but at least theres a good course for it.

Cancellara is just as good at hill climbing as Millar is - that's for sure. |

as Sporting said Millar has shown he is good at both riding up hills/mountains and riding TT's
and Cancellara is obviously the best TT'er in the world, and although in the TdF he showed he could ride OK up the mountains, he was never up there when Millar was.
to be honest i think Dekker will win the TT

I read in Procycling before the tour in a double interview with Millar and Zabriskie that they wished the London course was a bit more hilly as the flat course brought the likes of Cancellara into contention.
So thats kinda what makes me think hills suit Millar more. We'll have to see though won't we.
Oh and Addy, Dekker isnt riding.

quite honestly, I can't see anyone in Cancellara's league. and for comparison, at the TT at last year's Vuelta, Cance gained time on Millar on that brutal cobbled climb...and lost on the descent. that was Millar at full form and Cancellara....not at full form.

he won't ride the TT. just the road race.

So thats Cancellara a Paris-Roubaix winner, and Millar who is definately not a good cobbled rider.

you jump around on cobbles. that's why weight is important. not so on a 10% climb.

i'm sorry that made me laugh, you are saying that Cancellara is better up the hills than Millar on a cobbled climb, have you ever seen Millar on cobbles
anyway i'm sure you have Cance and you'll know that will be one of the reasons he gained time on Millar.
i'm not doubting Cance is the best TT'er in the world, as he is by a long way, but in my opinion Millar better than him on hilly/mountainous TT's

people, think for a second.
what separates riders on cobbles? the fact that they make the bike shake and jump around thus tiring your muscles, especially your arms.
that simply does NOT happen on a 10% climb...you're not going fast enough
I simply referred to the fact it was cobbled so you'd remember better...
as for having won the time, there was an intermediate check before the climb and one afterwards. the difference is simple.

Ive found the exact quote from Procycling
Procycling: Is it a good course for you or would you prefer something more difficult?
DM: I would have put a little hill in there and made it a little more technical. Flat is good as well, but it opens it up to a lot more people. It brings in the Cancellaras, the Hushovds, and a bunch of other guys who wouldn't be in it if there was a little hill in it or if it was a little more technical.
DZ: I'd agree that a hill would be better for him. But probably not for me. I'd like it to be a highway, a windy highway.

the perfect course for Zabriskie would be last week's Vuelta TT
well actually, the perfect course for him would be dead flat, 100% straight and 70km long

The easiest way to decide who the course is better for is to wait until the race has actually been run - then we know exactly who's better

Good to know Boogerd is going to the Worlds. It would be a terrific way to end his career.
We should have a complete startlist of all the countries involved, and post it on the main page, with the flags and all the html nicely tidied up. I can do that... for a price.
My friend here thinks 5 euros should be enough for this kind of intellectual job. He should know better.

To be honest, I hope Boogerd doesnt win. Whats the point of having a World Champion who doesnt race because he retired?

Point taken, but it would be nice to see him getting some action. |
