Devolder and Sinkewitz? Not really sure why I brought them both here, but hopefully I'll get something out of this. Can't expect much, though. |

Nice to see some aggression from Ardila. He might score some decent points here.

It's starting to look like a bad idea to send Fothen here, and Contador to the Dauphine. Seems it would have given a better result to switch it. Contador would have been the best climber here. Still don't know what to expect from Fothen as this is his first small Tour.
I don't see why Contador should be a better climber than Pluchkin.
Great win from him. What a rider I have in him!

Quite an interesting stage - enjoyed the screens. Quite realistic in that everyone looking at each other in the first mountain stage.
I'm worried that there is some kind of hidden stat in PCM that determines how often your rider gets caught in the second group in splits. Abal did it multiple times in the Vuelta and starts Switzerland doing it too..... |

Devolder sucky as always. Geniez did well, Sinkewitz ... well, tried, but failed. |

True. Forgot he was 83 aswell... But nontheless Contador would have a good shot at taking 2nd from this race, while Fothen should be happy around 4th or so, while he would have had a shot at Top 3-4 in the other race, and Contador prolly only around 5th. Oh well, time will tell. So far this has been good for Fothen, although the TT didn't make much sense, as Fothen is a good TT'er, good climber and even 76 on the hills.

Fothen just has 75 imo. So less than Tenorio for example or also less than Martin or Pozzovivo.
Strange ITT, true, but in general the hill stat was the most important. |

True 75 it was. But like Tim Dees, I don't think there is one single stat where Fothen isn't better...
Fothen: 73 FL, 82 MO, 75 HI, 78 TT, 76 STA, 80 RES, 80 REC
Dees: 71 FL, 74 MO, 72 HI, 76 TT, 74 STA, 76 RES, 72 REC
Quite a lot worse in every aspect, and he managed to put in a 5th while Fothen was only 11th.

Dees was then probably another rider next to Ford with a +5 daily form.
Luckily there is something like this. Otherwise you would almost know the result before the race even started. |

oh well, irritating that I couldn't pick up the points for yellow for a while, but if I can stay second that will be a top result.

That's true, but I just find it odd that this was clearly a TT that could happen IRL, whilst most other TT's are the most boring thing ever. Basically it's only the late TT of a GT that brings some excitement, the rest is given prerace, with some slight indifferences. But you never see a 78 TT'er win a TT due to superb form if theres a 80 TTer in the race otherwise.
EDIT: Odd equals cool in this case though, as TTs are normally waaay too predictable. This gave some toppings on the ice.

Oh yes, you are right. Still nice effort by him.
Anyway, as he is doing quite well in hilly stages, he will hopefully prove that in Le Tour as well. That will make or brake my TdF hopes..

If Velits manages to get to the top-10 I'll be more than happy. This guy seems to have a knack to either over or under-perform.

Ten Dam is taking a rest for Le Tour de France where he will be looking to wear the polka dot jersey for a third year in a row
