to be honest it hasn't been on the news in England that much, i mean it was when it started and now the parents are accused, but not so much in the middle.
i suppose you get it a lot as it all happened in Portugal

i want to get away from it, it's doing my head in.
Now they're suspects though everyone's starting to feel weary about this one.

yes, it could go on for a very long time, especially now Maddy's parents are conducting their own experiments, and DNA testing on the blood in the car etc.
it is about time this ended, she's been missing for a year now

Well, it does seem like a whole lot of time was spent with this... troubled event. |

i know, who knows what will happen next.
I also don't think the portugese police are used to this international press. Especially British, we don't seem to get these secrecy laws, we don't have them here. In the UK when the police get info the press get it.

the idea behind it is: if you know someone's a suspect, they'll become more careful and harder to catch. so I think it's a very good idea actually to have the secrecy thing
also, I think the english lady interviewed on TV the other day was dead right:
"if those parents weren't rich and didn't have important connections in the english government, they'd be locked up by now." I tend to agree.

Looks like the case is going to be shelved. As usual around here, the official stance of the police is one thing while the unnoficial stance is completely different and makes the rounds "off-the-record" (the same way team DSs accuse certain riders only off-the-record)
Officially it's "we have no evidence to arrest anyone"
Unnoficially it's "The McCann's have powerful friends with whom we don't want to mess"

I've just seen a BBC report on the Madeleine McCann case, and it was literally frightening. Censorship is in order in the UK, of that I no longer have any doubt.
I always found it strange how every englishman/woman interviewed was always oblivious to most details of the case and actually thought the McCanns are innocent. I now understand it's due to British media censorship.
And it scares me.
Meanwhile, the "secret of justice", it's called here expires next thursday, meaning every detail of the case will be available to the public, showing as we already know that blood belonging to the little girl was found on the trunk of the car the McCanns rented 2 days after she disappeared, along with a lot more.
On thursday, the inspector formerly in charge of the investigation (he was relieved due to enormous pressure from the british government) will reveal his tell-all book. So far he refuses to say anything except "read the book. the McCanns have very powerful 'friends'"
Meanwhile the irish eye witness who saw Gerry McCann carrying his daughter away from the house she supposedly disappeared from (at the time when she supposedly disappeared and the McCanns were supposedly somewhere else) says he will stop giving interviews. He states that he's received threats for months, saying that he better shut up or he'd regret it. He's been fired from his job for no apparent reason, so he decided he's indeed going to shut up.
Meanwhile another british couple lost sight of their young daughter last month in the Algarve region. They found her, she just wondered off for a few minutes without them noticing. Since they don't have powerful friends, the british government did to them what they do to everyone else when they leave a child unattended to: they sent them a formal letter stating that if it happened again, the child would be taken from them and that they would be charged with negligence. In case the child were never found, they would have been charged with negligence the first time around. "Strangely" this law was not applied to the McCanns.
Censorship in the UK. Say hello to it, because it's alive and well.

Believe me, we get a lot more censorship than that other here.
It's not really censorship, the papers print what they think will be a good story, regardless of facts/the truth. So in this case, they felt they would sell more copies if they made the Mccann's look innocent.
Although for the Mccann case there were periods where the media made them seem like they were guilty.

I agree, over here (And im not saying that its not the same elsewhere) But Media goes out of its way to create the biggest impact. It all in the headlines over here, I think when the first news about Madeleine came out 3 newspapers had the exact same Headline and picture. Its all about selling stuff here and a certain Morning news program called GMTV doesnt make things any better. GMTV gets the most viewers only because its more Public friendly. Meaning you only need one brain cell to understand what the overly dressed up Presenters look like.
BBC however are definatly more too the point. |

Now that the documents of the case are public, some interesting stuff has come to light of the public...
apparently the police dogs brought and trained by the british police did find trails.
The one trained to find maddie's blood pointed to the trunk of the car where the blood was found.
The one trained to find the scent of maddie's dead body pointed to her parents' bed, the couch, the closet, the trunk of the car (the one they rented days after they reported her disappearance), the car keys and several pieces of Kate McCann's clothing.
The criminal psychiatrist employed by the british police apparently characterized the couple as "dangerous" and noted a certain situation in particular:
At a certain point the McCanns were brought back to Portugal in an emergency flight, as a picture was found that might be of Maddie. They were to identify the pictures to see if this was indeed a great lead for finding their daughter.
As they waited, the psychiatrist notes that unlike any normal person who would be extremely stressed at the prospect of possibly finding their daughter, and unlike all the policemen and investigators present who were all very tense, Kate was "bored and kept asking how long the whole process would take" while Gerry "was sucking on a lollypop, reading random sites on his laptop and kept cracking jokes and talking about rugby with two english officers"
There's more, but I think that's more than enough.
They're guilty as hell.

Is it possible to read these documents on the internet? I've searched after them but couldn't find anything.

In the paper today was a list of questions Kate McCann said No Comment to.
One of these questions was 'Did you know she was going to get kidnapped, did you have anything to do with it'
