this was another absolutely crazy stage!
Van Impe and Cal´s Jaques-Maynes are in great position for final GC, but everything can happen in next stage, can´t wait for another thrilling report!

Reminds me of Bettini's win in Turkey last year, can Freire do the same?

Trying to to make head and tail out of the team tactics there, I cannot so I think I will enjoy the anarchy.
Stage 3 looks like a tough one, but the type of racing we have seen so far suggests a breakaway win all the way with Koppert with the leaders jersey you cannot expect much from them!

Pity Maesen couldn't hold on to the break. Oh well once again Elijzen not losing time. Nice result from Koppert.

Shit stage for me... Can`t see how to get my top5 goal here. Passeron is 4th but not a time trialist.
I need a selective stage now with Boom being in the first places and then a strong time trial by him.
Was a bit shit to see a Tinkoff rider in the breakaway and CalGiant being excused,
Not sure about Volkswagen if they had a man in the break.
But obviously it was up to Púma and Rothaus to do the pace. |

Volkswagen dosen't have a team to chase :-p Simple as that, I need others to chase and Reus to just hang on

True. You have a half team here.
Then it was hard to bring the group back. Let`s hope for another outcome in the 3rd stage. I thought a top5 in this race would be the easiest goal. Now it`s already hard to achieve. |

this stage was less selective as expected, I guess. Still few names (Reus!!, Kluge , Rolland) lost their race today. Regarding to again very impressive Van Impe, is his 70TT skill enough to close gap to Freire and at the same time to keep away from Ignatiev, Boom and co.?

Hrgh...quite an unlucky day ManGame-wise for us. 2 crashes ruining a lot of points.
I fear Bar will loose much time in the TT.

Well that makes up for the breaks getting away, and not allowing Davis the chance to sprint for the previous 2 stages |

Three stages, three wins for the escapees.
My money is on a breakaway winning tomorrow's TT.

The big question is now, is can Freire hold on in the TT. All 3 stages so far have been interesting, and perhaps even if Freire leads after Stage 4, could another break steal the race from his grasp? Looking forward to the conclusion of this. |

This race sucks. I just hope my next targets will not end up like here.

My bet is that Ignatiev still wins.

Not being mentioned in the race report proved to be a blessing. Elijzen staying safe was all I could ask for. But more bizarrely is Stallaert going to fulfill my GC ambitions?

Travis Meyer putting in a late dig was nice to see, even if he got overwhelmed in the finish

I think Freire's lack of TTing will be his undoing here, but even so it is unexpected points for Koppert here.
Van Impe is my favourite for the overall, with a two minute headstart surely he can hold off Ignatiev, Boom etc. I also think he will be able to overtake Freire, but it will probably be quite close.
For all of Koren's troubles CalGiant look in a good place really with Zirbel and Jacques-Maynes both decent chrono men they should both be up there possibly both in the top five, though they will come under pressure from Ignatiev and Boom.
It's a horror show for Kai Reus though this type of race would have been seen as a banker in previous years, but this year these small TT and hilly races are proving tricky.
