This may just be the race that wraps up the division win for Rapha over Jayco.
It's a bit early for that type of talk, with so many races to come. Bellis and Froome are looking amazing I admit... But I am feeling a surge coming from Bianchi and VolksWagen they have plenty of strong riders and races left (not to mention the superb Alarcon motored Aker Solutions).
From Red Bulls point of view I can't really be too defeatest on that stage. On paper Bianchi could have killed everyone on that stage the way it turned out was not the worst in the world with five of my riders in striking distance.
I am hoping for something from the gang - just one decent breakaway is all it will take and stage 3 looks a possibility, the amazing Vorganov again?

I hope you are right, my leaders (Ratiy and Marzano) have dissapointed the last races, but hopefully they will do better. Reus won the last race he raced, and now Bayern is coming up soon, can he repeat it?
Anyway, I hope for a break here, but my riders aint the best breakaway riders sooooo...

Von Kleinsorgen did great taking the KoM and a 6th today. Unfortunately he worked a lot in the end and had a bad position for the stage win.
Therefore I don`t like to see two more riders overtaking Hesjedal in a race where every second is important. Now I have to hope for another time gain by him on the 2nd hilly stage. |

Well done Jussi My riders need to get in the break in this race and dare to try, too bad he couldn't last all the way, but still well raced. Considering that he won a stage in Paris-Nice he's having a good season

Watching and waiting patiently for something to go the Red Bull boys way. That break came perilously close to ripping the lead off of the overworked Rapha boys. A shame Roman couldn't have got up there in the end. Also Impey looks in good sprinting form so omens are hopeful.
I really think stages 4 and 5 will be sprints but we shall see, I guess it depends on wind as well as parcours.

Sorry for two days of nothing, I'll double up stages over the weekend to catch up.

Luckily Hesjedal avoided the crash. Was already afraid when seeing a Rothaus rider on the ground. Also nice 7th by Baumann. Maybe a bit more would have been possible if placed 1-2 behind. And what was this with the finish line? Never had this problem before in this race.
A pity that Von Kleinsorgen and Kunitski lost their decent overall positions but maybe an advantage as they and also Blank can go into a breakaway now. That was the only negative on this stage as none of our riders tried it. |

Damn it, not again.
At least a 5th place from Rizza. That's always nice.

Well, we initially came here for some breakaways and to battle for the top 3 on flat stages...
Croket could surely break the top 5 in sprints, but he somehow decides to give up his great positions to surprise the others with an early jump.
Sadly his 71 ACC is not enough to keep this advantage long.

Well for once my team did what they were meant on a totally flat stage, when I have one of the best sprinters! Good one for us, and with 3 flat stages left hopefully Serebriakov can pick up another win |

'Sprints' like that show why Im quite happy to have moved on from a Sprinter heavy team last season. What does Kennaugh think he is meant to be doing, I wonder?

True. I have ~5 sprinters or so and none of them is really doing fine constantly.
That said Baumann is surprising me so far in Southland trying to sprint on every stage and the 5th is definitely a good result for him.
Like how the other sprinters fail with early moves like Ciolek and Croket. Otherwise I would be further back. ;-P
Negative again the time gain by Impey, who is close to Hesjedal now. |

Top 5 again, not bad at all. Rizza doing well down here.
And also good to see Santambrogio trying something.

I'm afraid, Oz won't achieve more than this 3rd by Cooke and 2nd by Laidler... too bad it would be, as we were close to our stage-win then..
