In the year 2012....

Nibali wins the Giro ahead of Scarponi and Kreuziger...

Contador destroys the opposition at the Tour, not banned even for a day...only one Schleck on the podium this time and Cadel returning with typical bad luck and outside of top 10.

Sagan wins two stages at the Tour, but is still short on green...

Cobo gets banned and Froome nowhere to be seen...

Martin wins both Olympics and WC time-trials, Cancellara declining even more this season...

Velits winning the Vuelta if present, thanks to great help from Leipheimer...

Zdenek Stybar winning his first stage/race on the road and starts to show his real potential...

Gilbert not so dominant, but still wins one Ardennes classic...

Kittel with almost 20 wins again...

Well , these are rather wishes then predictions, so i expect to fail badly Smile

First post after a long trip. Thank god for wi-fi at hotels. Pfft

- Contador avoids ban and wins a fourth Tour. Schleck Jr. second again, blaming it on the route. Gesink rounds out the podium.

- Scarponi prevails in the Giro, where he also wins a stage. Basso and Rodriguez second and third. Nibali ducks in favour for the Tour.

- Valverde returns to the Vuelta with another triumph, ahead of Anton and Rodriguez. Cobo can't repeat last year's performance, but finishes in the Top 5.

- Froome gets no way near last year's capacity and fails everywhere.

- If 1t4i gets a wildcard for the Tour, Geniez scores a Top 10 overall.

- Gilbert fails to reach last year's immortality, but still has a nice season, winning Milano - San Remo and De Ronde, as well as one of the Ardennes.

- Cancellara returns to the time trial throne, beating Martin in every TT. He also podiums at De Ronde and wins Roubaix again.

- Cavendish fails in the Olympics.

- Purito wins in Huy, and podiums in Amstel and Liège.

- Nibali makes the Top 5 at the Tour, and wins Lombardia.

- At least one WT stage race victory for Cunego.

- Goss beats Cavendish in one Tour mass sprint, also taking green.

- Pieter Weening somehow wins the worlds, with Joost Posthuma making it a home double by taking the TT. Cancellara and Martin both gets disqualified for too much rivalry. Pfft

Cadel Evans, with the help of Gilbert, Hushovd and Tejay, repeats his TdF victory. Frank takes over the leaders role at RadioShack after Andy crashes early on, but still can't do better than 7th overall. Nibali takes 2nd, Froome (!) rounds out the podium.

Oh and Conta gets banned. Pfft

Cancellara bounces back at retakes the crown of world's best timetriallist, as well as cobbler.

Matt Goss wins multiple grand tour stages. As does Marcel Kittel.

Jack Bobridge wins two WT timetrial stages, as well as the Australian NC title.

In 2012:

- Contador wins the Tour, beating Evans and Wiggins. Andy wins 2 mountain stages (and the KOTM-jersey), but crashes in every ITT (remember Rasmussen?). Mollema is best of the Dutch in 8th place. There are no French stage wins. Cav (2 stages) wins the green jersey again, but only because Kittel (who wins 3 stages) abandons in one of the last mountain stages. We finally see a Dutch stage win, I think Mollema.

- Nibali wins the Giro, beating Scarponi. Further a pretty boring race.

- Antón finally wins the Vuelta, beating Valverde and Kruijswijk.

- Gilbert wins Milano - San Remo, gets 2nd in the Ronde and wins LBL once again.

- Cancellara wins Roubaix, beating Boonen. But Boonen wins the Ronde.

- Cancellara wins the WC ITT and the RR goes to Gilbert beating Rodriguez and Rob Ruijgh.

- Olympics: Farrar beats Cav and Hushovd in the RR, Martin beats Cancellara and Wiggins in the TT.

- Positives / surprises: Kittel, Mollema, Antón, Vanendert.
- negatives: Flecha (and he retires after a disastrous year), GreenEdge, Schlecks (unfortunately, but Andy will win the tour ni 2013), Italians outside Italy.

Okay here is how things will really be...

Contador is banned, but cycling fans will be depressed when they realise that they must now find a new rider to hate, only to find that not many other names are as easy to change as Contadope.

GreenEdge take only one stage at the TDU and not the overall victory. Cyclingnews will run 20 articles on it, including 5 video diaries and several comparing them to Pegasus cycling. The team will fail to achieve much for the entire season.

Tour of Qatar will be interesting this year. No wait, that's a lie.

A young French rider, perhaps Rolland, will win a stage or the overall at Paris-Nice. The French press will proclaim him to be the next big saviour of French cycling. The rider will not win anything else for the next 5 years.

Evans wins Tirreno-Adriatico. The Italian press will complain that their riders suck, despite winning 3 stages and having only Italian riders in 2nd-5th place.

Cavendish will be considered the biggest favourite for Milan San Remo, but he will be dropped before the Poggio and a small group of riders will sprint it out. Gilbert will be on the podum.

Boonen will win the Ronde for the last time. Gilbert will be on the podium.

Cancellara will win Paris-Nice, but complain that none of the other favourites wanted to help him and that IT IS JUST SO HARD BEING GOOD AT RIDING A BIKE.

Purrito wins Amstel Gold. Gilbert is not on the podium and the press start to question his ability.

Frank Schleck wins Fleche Wallone. The press continue to not realise that he is the much better of the two brothers over hills.

Gilbert wins Liege. The press ignore the fact that they questioned him a week ago because WE HAVE ALWAYS LOVED YOU GILBERT.

At the Giro Cunego will be considered a favourite but fail dismally at the first sign of going uphill. Rujano will be considered a favourite but fail dismally at the first sign of going uphill. Lampre will question the wisdom of sending Scarponi to the Tour instead when he can't actually ride a time trial. Nibali will win the overall and continue his rise to fame, unless of course Basso says that he wants to go to the Giro, in which case Nibali will have an anonymous Tour while Basso ends up in the top 5.

Lance Armstrong appears at the Tour of California and says some stupid stuff about it being one of the most important races on the calendar. No one cares, except for Americans, who will continue to proclaim his innocence throughout the year as yet more evidence mounts.

The winner of the Dauphine will be an over-the-hill GC rider like Kloden. The winner will be called a favourite at the Tour, where they won't make even the slightest impact. The British Eurosport commentators will spend more time talking about Wiggin's win in 2011 than they will about the 2012 race.

In the Tour, Evans will win the overall or fall off his bike and end up in about 20th place. Wiggins will come second and English cycling fans will announce him to be the second coming of Christ. Norwegians will be claiming that EBH will win half the stages of the race. He will win none. Frank Schleck will be third place on the podium and the press still won't realise that he is the better rider.

At the Olympics Cavendish will take gold in one of the most boring road races in the history of the sport and the British media will claim that it is the most exciting race of all time. Wiggins will fail to win in the time trial and English cycling fans will renounce their faith in him.

No one will care about any of the races between the Tour and Vuelta.

At the Vuelta a completely unexpected rider wins. Another unexpected rider comes second and a pre-race favourite comes third. No, that's just too weird.

Everyone else falls over in the WC and Arashiro wins. That or Gilbert wins the world championship and the Belgian press wet themselves. One or the other. Martin wins the TT, but the German media don't care.

Turns out I am a gypsie and so I'm telling you now that, as CountArach said, Yukiya Arashiro will win the Worlds, while everyone else falls and Gilbert cries.

Just saying.

Alberto Contador will be banned for at least a year.

Cadel Evans won't win the Tour, neither will the Schlecks, so I'm guessing a surprise of some sort. Cobo? Valverde?

We won't see much of Rolland and Voeckler neither in the Tour.

In the Giro, Fuglsang, who's aiming for a top-5, won't get in top-10. Nibali will crush him and the rest of the competitors.

Cancellara won't win neither the Paris-Roubaix nor the Ronde van Vlaanderen. Gilbert will win the Ronde, no idea about the Paris-Roubaix.

That's it for now. Will follow up with lots of winning predictions soon Wink

Cavendish will still be the king of the sprinters, with Kittel a very close second, ready to take the crown next year.

Sagan will win Milano SanRemo.

Gesink's luck will change in the first half of the year as he will win Amstel Gold Race, but he still won't be able to compete the TdF at 100%.

If Contador gets banned then the podium at the Tour will be: Menchov, Schleck, Kruijswijk. Evans won't be eve close to match last year's performance.

Nibali for Giro, some TdF favorite that crashes during the first week for Vuelta.

As Di Luca, Valverde will find that riding clean ain't that easy.

Boom will be on the podium in Paris - Roubaix, with Boonen first.

Cobo's season will look a lot more like 2010 rather than 2011.

Greenedge will take the Tour down Under by storm, with Goss taking at least 2 stage wins.

Gilbert will dominate the classics season - again, while Hushovd will be the main man for the BMC machine in the cobbles. Evans, with the help of new men Pinotti and van Garderen will challenge for the early tours, have a go at the Tour but come 4th behind Contador and Frandy.

Cavendish will win loads of stages early on in the season, but won't be able to retain his green jersey as Sky will be focusing on a Wiggins Tour win, which will fail (again).

Both Sagan and Kittel will win loads next season as they work on becoming the challengers to Cavendish in the role as the world's best sprinter.

Liquigas will go out all guns blazing into the Giro and end up with a 1-2 of Nibali and Basso.

Cancellara will try to rebuild after by his standards a wretched 2011, but won't do much better due to a lack of cobbles talent in Radioshack Nissan Trek.

Frandy will fail yet again and we may even see them crying as they stand either side of Contador on the podium.

Contador won't get banned. So pleased with his clean bill of health, he'll come back better than ever and tear Frandy apart in the Tour.

cavendish starts slow and will apparently not win anything after finishing in the 2nd group at Milan San Remo after Matt Goss wins again before going to the tour and winning 5 stages and green and everybody wonders what all the fuss was about.

Kittel Will prove to be as good as Griepal.

Froome will be a top 20 in a GT

Olympics Road Race turns into a hilly war zone before coming back togther for Breschal, Hushovd etc Hilly Sprinters to fight out the finish.

Early Season Rodriguez and Tony Martin look good

Gilbert Dominates

Geriant Thomas becomes sky's cobbles leader.

Giro: Anton wins biggest mountain stage Nibali wins race.

Tour: Contadope wins Andy 2nd 3rd either Evans, VDB, Gesink or Wiggins

Veulta: Mr Anton returns to form.

Other: Alex Dowsett continues improving and Luke Rowe shows remarkable Neo-Pro performances.

Tony Martin heads to his 2nd P-N win, only to be overtaken by Klöden on the last uphill TT.

While becoming more important than P-N, T-A goes to Contador.

Mass crash in MSR just before the Cipressa - Sagan attacks on the Poggio and wins before Visconti and Kittel.

Sylvain Chavanel wins Flanders, Flecha takes Roubaix, Cancellara and Boonen fail.

Gilbert wins AGR and Flèche but comes 2nd to Fränk Schleck in LBL.

Giro becomes Liquigas party - Basso wins, Nibali 4th, Sagan holds pink for at least 3 days. Rujano comes in 2nd again, Lampre fails with Scarponi ending 6th and Cunego in 24th.

Tour de Suisse goes to Fränk Schleck, Rabobank repeats 2011 with Mollema and Kruijswijk in Top 5.

Gesink wins Dauphiné before Evans and Andy Schleck, Rolland rides Top 5 and becomes national hero.

Contador takes Tour before A.Schleck, Gesink, Evans, F.Schleck, Wiggins, van den Broeck, Rolland, Basso and Froome. AG2R and Vacansoleil both get 2 riders in Top 20, Sammy Sanchez isn't in good shape an finishes 16th, Cunego 19th, Garmin-Cervélo fails with no stage win and no Top 25. Some guy from a British island wins green, some Frenchie wins polka-dot.

The guy from the British island continues his form and wins the Olympics, Tony Martin wins ITT.

Euskaltel takes revenge in the Vuelta with 4 stage wins, Anton taking GC and Nieve ending 5th, Valverde and Menchov manage to get Top 5, Rodriguez Top 10. Kittel wins 3 mass sprints.

Omega Pharma-Quickstep wins the new Team Time Trial for trade teams in the World Champs, Tony Martin again wins a time trial and Gilbert wins the Road Race in front of Fränk Schleck and Rodriguez.

Sagan concludes his season with the victory in Lombardia. Cunego fails in his favourite race too finishing 16th.

Contadors trial will be after the season, where he is proved unguilty, because the UCI is pro-Alberto.

And last but not least: Bert Grabsch gets overrated in PCM 2012 as well because of his lucky day on September 25th, 2008.

-I think GreenEDGE will be pumped for their first challenge in the TDU, but will take some time to find their feet.

-Omega Pharma-QST will run wild in the classics, Chavanel winning Ronde' and also getting a podium in Roubaix. Euskaltel will occupy the last 8 places in Roubaix also.

-BMC will dominate in the Ardennes classics, Gilbert winning Leige and Amstel, while Samuel Sanchez takes Fleche.

-P-N will be dominated by Tony Martin, Tirreno will go to Nibali. Visconti will put up a good fight and finish 3rd behind Cunego. Basso will take the Giro from Scarponi, with a large break from Rujano on the Syelvio getting him 3rd.

-Evans 3rd in Dauphine, it will be won by Wiggins again, While Brajkovic wins Suisse.

-Evans and Contador will battle it out in The Tour, Evans will victor over Contador and 3rd Wiggins. Andy will come 5th and Frank 7th, Taaramae finishing in the top 10. Green Jersey will go to Greipel, KOM will go to Pieter Weening, U25 to Rolland (If he's still young enough) and Team Classification to Radioshack.

-Olympic RR to Cavendish (If he participates) and ITT to Lars Boom.
Might do the rest a bit later Smile

My predictions:

Tour: Schleck (but only because Frank crashes out day 2)
Giro: Nibali
Vuelta: Anton (finally)

MSR- Cance
RVV- Cance
PR- Cance (he's got to win 1 right?)
LBL- Frank
Lombardia- Cunego

Olympics- random half sprinter who absolutely no one had as a favourite except people from their own country

Worlds- Gilbert, consequently being elected Supreme ruler of Belgium
