The NZ RR system is pretty weird.
Michael Vink won the race but is just U23 champion while Williamson as 2nd will be elite champion as elite and U23 rode together... |

Well, that's a quite frequent system in many countries, for example in Czech Republic and Slovakia as well.

Haven`t known this. But imo it`S a strange system as you win the race and proving to be the "best" but just being the "small" champion afterwards. |

Luke Durbridge wins the Australia TT ahead of Meyer and Rogers. Great ride by him, will be a great future star.
| 1 | Luke Durbridge (WA) | 46:20.4 | | 2 | Cameron Meyer (WA) | 00:07.0 | | 3 | Michael Rogers (ACT) | 00:15.9 | | 4 | Michael Hepburn (QLD) | 01:10.1 | | 5 | Richie Porte (Tas) | 01:18.9 | | 6 | Cameron Wurf (Tas) | 01:19.5 | | 7 | Travis Meyer (WA) | 02:21.8 | | 8 | William Clarke (Tas) | 02:22.8 | | 9 | Luke Roberts (SA) | 02:29.1 | | 10 | Jack Anderson (QLD) | 03:11.9 |
*Bobridge crashed 1km into the race, suspected broken collarbone, so very bad news for him.

According to cyclingnews "Bobridge was taken to hospital with a haematoma on his left arm however no fractures were suspected."
The course was partially open and that is what caused his fall.

green edge just put out a FB status over Bobridge it said there were no breaks in his collarbone so they are send him to Adelaide with the rest of the team where he will get a second xray to make sure

Disappointed, I thought porte would of done much better. Still, 5th isn't that bad.

Bit info to point out, the roads weren't closed at the end so few riders lost a bit of time there.
"...Unfortunately I was held up with some traffic; unfortunately the roads weren't closed so I don't know how much I lost there – maybe 10, 15 seconds so that's the way it is. But you know at the end of the day I'm really happy with the result and it's good to edge my way back onto the podium again."
Lucky there wasn't any crashes there.

Yet again I don't win a bet.
Great win for Durbridge. Promising career ahead. |
