Cycling whole his life, Michael dreams of one thing and one thing only, someday winning the Tour de France. Born in Belgium meant training to become a stage racer wasn't an easy task, but thanks to the help of his parents they often went somewhere warm and sunny with a lot of climbs at close range. Lanzarote was the best place to start learing the climbs from there on Michael's mind was made up. Now he trains every day an visites the mountains as often as possible.
Michael Haesen is the young Belgium version of Contador and hopes to follow in his footsteps (will try and keep an eye on what I eat)

Lachlan first found his love for cycling when he was 13 and his father took him down to watch the Tour Down Under. Whilst watching the greatest sprinters in the world race each other he realised that in the future he would want to be one of them. When Lachlan wants to he gets to top speed very quickly but unfortunately cant hold it there for too long. He hopes to become a great sprinter one day that can win in an uphill finish.
Just tell me if you want me to change any stats

In His Youth Newcomer Sepp Forcher always walked with His uncle through Austria and watched the country. Too is He the grandson of Sepp Forcher, the old man with Big beard, who walks (for Austrian TV) across all Austria and Shows the Beauty of Nature. Lil' Sepp Soon got bored with just Walking, so He Took His Bike and rode. After His First races it soon became clear that He would Never Be able to win a GT, but he loves to Be Santa's Little Helper or to Ride in breakaways, since he can Watch the landscape from there in a Better Way.
(I'm New here, i Know, but i really like this idea of a story...and since it's a bit stupid imo to have 20 Sprinters or 5 riders with 77+ on MO i'd Love to have my Rider As a fighter/helper-mix...but don't forget to mention him
And good luck with the Story, i'll Be Reading silently, As i usually do!) |

A childhood friend of Mike Pye, they used to train daily together and joined the same club, he was never up to the standard of his friend, but they rapidly worked out that as a team, Alex could give Mike the start he needed in order to win those sprnits.
A Domestique for you, as all the riders so far seem too epic
Though, he also makes a half decent sprinter if you need one in races, or (what i hope he get's used for) a leadout man for mike pye.

Ever since he was a small kid , he wanted to be a cyclist and he has succeeded in that being a super domestique in the teams he has ridden ,while getting his own chances in breakaways. |

Haha, IKEA is a great idea, but imo we need more swedish riders therefore...any swedish person reading this? Then sign in and create your own little domestique! |

Stefan is a swedish kid, who was spotted by ikea-bianchis scouts, just before the start of the season, they really liked his abilities across the flat given his age, and he looked like in the future, he may become a good classics rider, for now though, a domestique, with a lot of potential.

IKEA-Bianchi 2011
Casper van der Luijt is clearly our strongest rider but Jakab Zoltan, Mike Pye and Ruben van Weerd are also very strong riders, we will look for the Giro-Vuelta double with Casper as the competition at Le Tour is too much for our rookie team. van Weerd is the main man on the cobbled surfaces with stong support from Anders Eriksson. Zoltan will likely lead in the Ardennes region in April and Mike Pye and Eriksson/Lachlan Saunders will be our fast men throughout the year. Others like Jordan Smith and Gary Sutton may target stages in stage races. Expect to see Stefan Olsson, Alex Wilson and Sepp Forcher driving the peleton in the bright yellow and blue of Sweden's newest pro cycling team IKEA-Bianchi. |

Sponsor goals are Top 5 at De Ronde, Paris-Roubaix, Gent-Wevelgem
Top 10 at LBL, Fleche Wallone
Win Le Tour
Climbers Ranking at Giro
I wont specifically target these but will obviously strive to win everything but i am a realist.
DS Goals
Top 7 Giro and Vuelta
Top 10 Paris-Roubaix
Win KBK and/or Omloop
Stage win TDF
Note- Any goals you guys have? Any requests at all? This is our team so if you ever want anything just ask. Also thinking a blog from a rider every so often would be cool, get you all more involved. Yes or No? Cant wait to start! |
