Thank you verry much!
I only had to "repair" the stripes because we germans like symetry
So I made a new minimaillot (I think the Template I used is outdated ...)
I also added handles, crossair, leggins and bottle. Only if someone's interested.
Also I made a VERRY simple maillot for germany. Not half as beautyful as yours (as we germans also suffer from a lack of fantasy) but it suites the leggins better. (Is that correct english?? :roll

But let's get back to the giro. It's the third stage. Two hills are waiting. The first one raises verry slow, while the second one is much shorter but with only some km to go, it might make winners or loosers of the day.
With that in mind Gasparotto again was choosen for the run, as the peleton would not let Visconti go (often tried). But the rain seemd to bury all my plans.
To hard of an attack, but back in the peleton he tried again.
This time it worked! The some others came from behind so that there were 13 riders on the run. As I hoped they made haste when it went downhill. So it soon was clear that the winner would be one of 13. Again Ignatiev seemd to be the one to beat as I knew that Hunt, Mondory or Viganó were not to beat when it comes to the sprint. So Gasparotto attacked at the last hill. This time it worked noone could follow and Gasparotto at the end rescued 33 seconds. With 4:54 to the peleton he is in the lead now.
Great Day for him, great day for the team!
PS: I "lost" most of the screens and the overall ratings, sorry! |

The fourth stage again has two hills. One right at the start, the other one at the end. Flat as the netherlands between these hills I decided to save the lead, take care of the runaways and again ride an attack at the last hill. My sprinter Kittel is no match to Cavedish or Boason-Hagen when hills are on the way.
So a little group of 5 riders went off, but never more than 4 minutes so it was an easy day for the team. Perfectly timed the at the foot of the hill all were together again. This time Visconti attacked ...
and made it to the end!

why?
The fifth stage is waiting with two little mountains. Nothing to worry about I thought and everything started well. A goup of seven went off I we had little work to do.
But then something went wrong. By the force of Lampre and Liquigas
the field was split and Gasparotto was left behind.
Because of the bad road I did not want to leve some support behind, as Martin is the captain and I was a little affraid of what Italian power did to my Team. And they kept doing it.
It was clear that they want to win the stage and I did not want to loose time. Top 5 is still the goal and nothing realy bad happend yet. So I brought Martin home save, but without a realy good feeling. Nibali did a great sprint and won the stage Gasparotto is still in the lead, but of course he won't keep it for long.

Yes! I like him and I think it must be a great feeling to have the lead when you're italian. But he is not captain, just free for while. So I waited for the sixth stage.
With it's hilly finish it won't make the winners or loosers, but everyone need to stay focused. So this time Cappechi got a go in a group of 5.
20 km to go and they still are in the lead, but again Liquigas and Lampre did all the work until only the group of favourites could follow. Incredible strong Nibali made the pace.
By the way, I'm suprised by the strength of my team. Martin was never alone, but also Lampre with Cunego and Scarponi had two strong riders in front. So, even if Nibali did all the work, Scarponi got the prize.
I thought Basso would be the captain, but today it got clear, Nibali is the one to beat. Incredible strong in the mountains (hills until now) this year he is also not too bad in TT. Gasparotto again lost time but still is in the lead!!

I'm sorry to say that, but I killed my riders with too many races
Gasparotto with 77 Days until the Giro is much too much ... So I started a new Career and try a little bit, before I start a new thread... |
