Early Break would have Larsson from Saxo Bank in it but they wouldn't get further then 20km to go.

A break in the pack which Hegreberg and Abakoumov survived would mean only 60 riders would fight out the finish

the break being caught allowed Grabsch to go late and with 10km to go he was just in front.

Now into the sprint and Abakoumov was up there but falling back CCC looked like winning again.
