thanks to ruben's tip the screenies should look better now
In this strong field where several pro tour teams bring their strong teams as they all get ready for the season Colavita will try to show an attacking face and also see whether Ardila Cano can hold on during the tough stages. For our goal, wear the mountainjersey for 1 day Anthony Colby will be our leader but today we started with the TT...not our strongest points but the steep hill at the end caused our Colombian Ardila Cano, who normally hates TT, to end 22nd at 21 seconds. Zabriskie was the best for a long time but then the German Champion, Sebastian Lang crushed his time and won

After yesterday's TT we immediatly get a tough stage thrown at us. Today our goal is to grab the KOM jersey with Colby and to make sure Ardila finishes in the main group. Colby attacks and only gets Aerts along with him. Colby grabs 22 points but then on the next to last hill Aerts leaves him behind, Colby gets caught and Aerts grabs all the points and takes the jersey as he snatches 26 points :x . On the final climb the attacks come and today Dave Z. and Kirchen get away as they leave Miholjevic and a group of 4 behind them. Ardila Cano is still in the main group chasing these 7 riders.
Left: Colby and Aerts on the first climb, Right: Zabriskie and Kirchen, one of these 2 will win!
Thanks to Zabriskie their lead increases and its almost certain that Zabriskie will take over the lead unless Kirchen wins with a 10 second advantage. The 2 arrive in Santa Rosa and start their sprint
Zabriskie and Kirchen both look strong...but the finish is still far!
Slowly Kirchen gets out of Zabriskie's wheel and then Zabriskie has to pay for all his hard work.
Kirchen wins (as the crowd on the right side cheers...the left side isnt so popular )
Meanwhile both Ardila Cano and even Colby finish inside the top 51 (Colby ended 51st ) and with he main group.
Result:

Our first task today was to grab KOM points on the first climb with Colby, we did and so Colby now has the KOM jersey...first season goal is in the bag. After this we see attack after attack after attack and in the end a group of 13 gets away with Charles Dionne in it for Colavita.
McCartney up front with Dionne behind him, will Dionne win just like he did in San Luis?
The group slinks down to 9 riders but the pack is right behind them when they enter Sacramento and when Dionne looks behind him he sees that he has no other choice than to try and surprise the group because if they wait longer they will for sure be taken in. So Dionne tries to surprise them...
Dionne jumps to the other side of the road while a local tries to sabotage the Canadian!
Dionne is already at top speed when the others react...even though its still a long way to go his move worked as he has a small lead now. But the big guns from the pack are getting real close now!
Korff and Wherry are after Dionne but the Canadian already has a nice lead
Meanwhile the big guns get close but not close enough...Dionne slowly loses terrain to Korff and Wherry but his early surprise sprint paid off and Dionne gets a win here in California which is very important for our small American squad!
The American commentators cry as the Canadian beats their National Champion
Result:
01. Charles Dionne COLAVITA - SUTTER HOME PRESENTED BY COOKING LIGHT 3h55'17

After our 1st big win in America we get ready for the toughest stage
Our leader here is Ardila Cano but since this is his first race of the season and only a race to show the young Colombian how this cycling world works our main task is to hang on and Colby should probably be able to survive as well. A break is formed on the 2nd climb after 37 kms, Markus Zberg and Marc de Maar go out on adventure and De Maar would take over the mountain jersey from Colby. However on the biggest climb Anthony Charteau and Josep Jufre attack and join the 2 on the descent of the same climb and they go towards the final climb which is long but not very difficult.
Left: De Maar and Zberg start their journey. Right: Jufre and Charteau have joined them.
The 4 dont have such a big lead but still their work seems to pay off but then De Maar decides to attack and this could be the end of them but Zberg wants to win today and hauls him back. Now the 4 are all anxiously looking at eachother
The 4 escapees next to eachother as De Maar dives into Jufre's wheel
Zberg is the best sprinter but he and De Maar might hace lost more energy than Jufre and Charteau and since Jufre is by far the best climber he could be our winner today. Jufre starts the sprints himself and both Zberg and De Maar have to give in as they wasted too much power today. But Charteau gets closer and closer and on the line its not clear who was won, however the winner himself is sure that he has won!
Charteau surprises everyone as he wins the queen stage while Jufre is very mad for letting this one slip trough his hands!
Ardila Cano and Colby finish in the pack and Ardila Cano even finishes 9th And another funny thing is that Charteau was the only one in the break who lost time on the hilly stage but still he beated everyone here today!
Result:
