Stage 14:
Grenoble - Col du Galibier
Have you ever dreamt that you were riding upwards and upwards and never reached the top? This is a stage like that. The climb is not really steep, but with more than 90 klometres without downhills will make it like a real mountain stage. The real climb starts with about 45 kilometres to the finishing line, and it will be steeper and steeper to the finishing line. A climber will definitely win this.
Sprint: Bourg d'Oisans
Categorized climb: Col du Galibier |

Ooh, the Blockhaus stage from the 09 Giro transfered to the Tour. Looks nice!
I do however think you are overestimating the sprinters in the first week. A lot of the stages look like potential breakaway stages. That's not a bad thing though.
The only fault I can find is maybe that the Tour will be a bit backended. With the Alps starting on stage 13, we won't see much GC action until the last week. |

Thank you for the response!
I understand what you mean by looking at the profiles, but I think it is a problem by the hight of the curves. If you look at the first Bretagne stage it seems like it is some big hills there, but the highest point of the race is only 250 metres. The curve is not the same on every stage, if you understand what i mean through my bad english.
My meaning was to make some hard stages in the Massif Central, and to make the only normal TT before the mountains. In addition the cobbled Ardenne-stage will also make big differences before the alps and the pyrenees.

Stage 15:
Briancon - Super-Sauze
The stages in the alpes has been quite hard, but with none absolutely queen stages. Neither does this, even though the riders will meet lots of steep mountains. The last 30 kilometres will go in an around Barcelonette, first up to the north against Le Grand Berard, then back again and towards Super-Sauze south of the city. Also Col d'Izoard will be included in this stage, but probably too early to make really differences. This is the last Alp stage in this Tour, and after the stage the riders will get a well-deserved rest day.
Sprint: Embrun
Categorized climbs: Col d'Izoard, Mont Guillaume, Col des Fillys, Ascension de Grand Berard, Super-Sauze

Stage 16:
Istres - Narbonne
After the rest day the riders will take on the long way from the alps to the pyrenees in one day. Most of the riders will send their thoughts for the 4 last mountain stages, but some aggresive riders and some sprinters will look for the stage win. The stage also is near the coast for the whole stage, so maybe the wind could play an important role.
Sprint: Cap D'Agde |

Stage 11 maybe a bit unrealistic with the downhill cobbles but I think very fun to ride and abvious where you can lose this tour

Stage 17:
Lannemezan - Ascension de Posets
The pyrenees are here. The GC will be decided. The first of the stages are going as long as it is road, to the highest peak of Spain, the Posets. A really steep climb towards the finishing line, and the mountain Puerto Ezkurra is also one hard climb. The sprinters will get it tough here.
Sprint: Ezkurra
Categorized climbs: Puerto de Ezkurra, Coll de Fadas, Ascension de Posets |

Stage 18:
Saint-Gaudens - Col de Tentes - Bujaruelo Pass
The queen's stage in this Tour. The riders will climb three of the legendary Tour mountains but instead of the classic finish on Luz-Ardiden the riders will make it south from Luz-Saint-Sauveur to the less famous but harder Col de Tentes climb. It is going to hurt for everyone on this stage, and only the strongest will win.
Sprint: Arreau
Categorized climbs: Col du Peyresourde, Col d'Aspin, Col du Tourmalet, Col du Tentes
My first plan was to have the start of the stage in Bagneres-Luchon, near Peyresourde, but because of a chance for online gaming and because the sprinters won't get to the finish within the time limit, I made the start in Saint-Gaudens. |

Stage 19:
Pau - Bagneres-de-Bigorre
The Tour has not many stages left, but still there are some more omuntains to climb. Two legendary mountains: Aubisque and Tourmalet (for the second time) is on the menu. After Tourmalet it is 30 kilometres downhill to Bagneres-de-Bigorre, so a sprint between the GC-contenders can be, maybe behind some lucky and offensive riders. Everyone is tired after two hard stages so many thinks can happen today.
Sprint: Argeles-Gazost
Categorized climbs: Col d'Aubisque, Col du Tourmalet |

I can't wait to ride stage18 when you have finished because most of my fantasy team are pretty good climbers.
All nice stages.
Keep up the good work |

Stage 20:
Bossost - Mont Majou
The tour will be decided, if it is not already. The riders will take on two mountains in this time trial, which surely have been the hardest time trial in 20 years of Tour history. The riders are starting in Bossost on the spanish border, but after reaching the peak of Col du Portillon, they are back in the right country, in Bagneres-de-Luchon. Then they will be facing a huge mountain on narrow gravel roads. If you crack up this hill you can lose minutes, even hours.
Time points: Col du Portillon Bagneres-de-Luchon, Mont Majou |
